Stayed here twice. Every year I go Madrid to watch a Real Madrid match. This hotel offers a good value for money. Hotel is bit old, but nice and clean. Friendly team as well. Connectivity to the main places was good. there is a metro entrance right next to the hotel.
Very dated decor and roomsNeeds a refurbishment Probably more like 3 star in UK standardsNo iron in roomsNo kettle in rooms or cupsAir con is noisy and not very responsiveGood central location - that is the good bit!
We stayed at this hotel for three nights in December. The staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. They even opened the breakfast room a bit early for us as we had to leave for the airport very early in the morning. The breakfast provided was excellent. A wonderful variety, very well prepared and presented. We really enjoyed the eggs, made two different ways, all the different meats, pastries, fruit and more. The only down side was that our room was old and needed refurshibment. The bathroom was very nice, large and a good shower. But the room was on the smaller aide, with threadbare carpet in areas, a old bed with worn out springs and a tv remote that did not always work. The location is just okay. A 30 min walk into the center of the city so in our opinion a bit out of the way for tourists. But, there were. Always taxis out front so if you can't walk then that is an option.Again, everyone there on the staff were wonderful, and that made our stay very nice.
Don't think things could get much easier! The hotel is located right at the Metro Station Gregorio Maranon and within a 1 min walk you can catch buses directly to various locations downtown as well as the train stations - if you want to see Toledo or Segovia. This a 5 star hotel, with all the the wonderful amenities -but you get what you pay for. If you want to pay 99 euros a night you might get a room that's a little worn, but take your pick - How much time are you really going to spend in your room? The rooms are being upgraded and the carpeting is being replaced with wood flooring - however this makes it a bit noisy in the room below. Finally the staff I have dealt with have been fantastic..especially Isabel and Esther at reception.
The location is quite central. As the receptionist could not find our reservation, the second day our room keys were blocked, on and on. Instead of searching in her computer, the lady asked us to search in our computer, as if we use to travel with our desktop...Breakfast buffet was excellent, but waiters were absolutely not paying attention to clients to provide with coffee. We decided to help ourselves several times, when normaly waiters were supposed to cruise the dining room with coffee pot in their hand. And now for those with a car : the hotel has un undergroud garage, rather expensive, but as a client, you cannot secure a place. One night, around midnight, coming back from a reception, we found the parking full. We had to find another place, in the night, and walk back to the hotel under the rain. So much for customer satisfaction. At checkout, no question asked about our stay. Absolute indifference. In summary, average hotel where you are just a credit card.
