Tired

This hotel was probably five star in its heyday but now it is tired and tatty. The carpets and furnishings are worn and the decor is outdated. The breakfast restuarant functioned efficiently and had a good selection of food. The hotel has a metro station very close by and we were able to see the sights. We heard a lot of noise from the family in the room next to ours, and no view from our window. The hotel us in need of a thorough refurbishment.

Really bad customer service

I stayed at Hotel Miguel Angel during a business trip. My last day at the hotel I woke up to a power outage in the building. No light or electricity at all in the room. I called several times reception to explain my situation, I had to leave to work and also pack my things since I also had to do the checkout that same morning, pretty difficult to do in the darkness. I asked for some alternative to at least get a shirt ironed, no solution provided, I would expect from them to have some kind of plan B for this kind of scenarios. I asked to do a late check out since I couldn't see anything at all in the room to pack my things and I had to leave, they also refused. Very rude service, not even an apology or an attempt to provide some sort of solution even after explaining several times the inconvenience that was causing to me.I understand the power cut was not their fault since it was caused for some kind of maintenance work done on the street, however, I believe the customer service was unacceptable and they still charged the full amount for the stay.

Stupid

We were with a group occupying some 30 rooms for 3 nights plus conference room. Added up to more than 15000 euro. As the hotel was fully booked, some of us got upgraded to the 5th (Executive) floor. That floor features a small restaurant for breakfast and refreshers. We were surprised that our upgrade excluded the use of the small bytes in that restaurant.So: the management thought it was wise to save -say- € 10 on biscuits and juice on a group that spent € 15000.....I do not see the logic.Furthermore speak from the neighbouring room could be overheard literally.All in all a not to be recommended hotel.

Fine Hotel but Not Great

The hotel was fine. Right outside was a metro station. The room was rather small without many electrical plugs. It seemed a bit old for the money. The AC was on lowest setting with full fan and room was not cool. Ask for a room with a few or you will be face the walls. Hotel was listed for over $200 a night. Definitely not worth that price. Buffet breakfast was very good.

Worn hotel on a decentralised location

At arriving staff was professional but not fothcomming. The entrance looks great. My room was not ready and I had to wait. Sitting near the bar I tried to order coffee which took me at least 10 minutes. After one hour I asked reception if my room was ready. It was. The room is big. Worn carpets, old furniture and a noisy airco. Good but small bathroom.The bed was good. Breakfast was an adventure. Far to many people having breakfast at the same time. People waiting in line and others jumping the line. Once at the table you needed to make sure you were not to long gone to get food otherwise your table would be occupied by a line jumper.All in all this hotel gets 5 points out of 10
