Petit Palace Posada Del Peine
- What's Included
This is an ideally placed hotel for exploring Madrid. It is right in the centre, is very comfortable (especially the mattresses) and full of character. The hotel is a picture from the outside and cleverly converted inside. It can be a bit noisy from the outside so if you like more peace you might have to move out from this central position. Did not try the breakfast as there are so many nice places to eat outside nearby.
Very pleasant, knowlegeable and helpful multilingual staff. Comfortable, centrally located hotel within a few steps of Plaza Mayor and walking distance of many restaurants of all categories. Good value for the money.
The hotel is just off the Plaza Major. It's a 10 -15 minute walk to the art museum district and in the opposite direction the same to the palace and the central food market, all of which are a must when visiting Madrid. We had a room for three people with a set of bunk beds. The room was lovely and clean but the bathroom was rather exposed as the glass door was definitely not sound proof and we were all quite relieved that we were family members and were fine with familiarity! The staff were very helpful and friendly. An added bonus was that the hotel is opposite a squid sandwich shop. Perfect!!
Booked for a long weekend. excellent location-within easy reach of the main square.its even on the city tour map as the oldest hotel.Rooms were spacious and had some unusual light features and the shower was lovely.Safe worked well with credit card so you dont have to remember numbers!!We didnt try the restaurant but looked fine. Lovely decor, exposed brickwork.Free tea in reception and we had a kettle in our room.Unfortunately the metro to the airport wasn't working but reception staff kindly ordered a taxi for us-no botherA great find-would definitely return
I booked this hotel for a surprise long weekend for my husband's birthday. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful when we arrived, showing us places to go for sightseeing, eating and shopping. Having informed them of my husband's birthday, we were surprised with a bottle of cava and chocolates to our room! Really lovely touch, and great customer service. The hotel itself is in a perfect location - right at the back of Plaza Mayor, and walking distance to the Palace, Cathedral, Grand Via, Plaza Santa Ana and many other attractions. Be aware - Plaza Mayor is very busy and there are lots of bars and restaurants around the hotel - which is great for eating and drinking, but its not a quiet spot - take some earplugs if the street noise is likely to bother you at night. Its also easy to get to from the airport - the train or the metro take you within 2 minutes walk of the hotel. The rooms are great - big comfortable bed, amazing shower and we had two full length windows that we could open to look out over the balcony onto the street below. There are hand painted pictures on the walls in the rooms and up the main staircase. Breakfast offered a great choice - hot and cold buffet style, with eggs, sausages, cold meats and cheeses, cereals, cakes and pastries (and churros!), fruit and fruit juices, breads and toasts, coffees and teas. All staff were friendly and helpful, and there is free wifi throughout. They also offer free bike hire, which we didn't do, but is a great idea and I'd definitely do it next time.Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a brilliant stay!
