Silken Puerta de America
- What's Included
The hotel is generally good (the rooms are clean and confortable), but it gives the idea that you pay for the design experience, which does not totally correspond to a 5* hotel experience. Some of the staff was really kind but not everyone was like that.
The rooms this hotel offers are subject to extra costs . If you eat any sweets/crisps from use room you are charged extortionate prices . The gym is tiny . The pool is freezing ! And unless you're dressed in a suit when you check in they treat you poorly at front desk
Been meaning to stay here for a long time as the idea of a design hotel with different floor themes appeals to me. The service was excellent, check-in was friendly and efficient. As I arrived late I was not given a choice of floor, but no matter. I was put in the Oriental floor which was fine. My bathroom was quite impressive, with a massive wooden bath!Breakfast was very good, again really efficient and friendly service. There is a small pool area on the top floor but no changing facilities, which I thought odd (space is probably at a premium). The location is out of the way but then I would describe this hotel as a destination property. The interior itself is quite impressive and while it is a number of years old I think it's aging well.
Gpos location and good rooms. When I stayed at the hotel the line 8 metro was closed to go to the airport but you can always use the shuttle bus service. If you have spare time go up to the sky link, the view is amazing :)
I stayed here with my boy friend for our first get away together. I had never done a city break before as i am more a beach babe, but i heard Madrid was beautiful and my partner wanted to visit the football stadium. I saw this hotel online and sounded right up our street, each floor is themed with a different design. At the check in they weren't quite ready for us yet which was annoying as we had a really early flight and had arrived around 11:30am. In the meantime we got given an ipad to pick which room we wanted to stay in, we went for a blacked out room with a beautiful huge wooden bath leading onto the shower and a massive window view of the city. The front desk were really helpful in helping us find places to go and even cycled the map they had given us to show us where to go. The trip was everything we wanted it to be, the bar's were very expensive but that was to be expected. We were about 10-15 mins walk away from anything which was nice as we liked walking through the city, the metro was so fun and easy to use. The only issue is when coming back you would come out the other end at a completely different location and have to work out where you are, we ended asking locals.Well worth the trip, it isn't the most central hotel but only a small work to the main stations to get you around the city. Would defo stay again.
