Stayed twice at this hotel based on our travel agents advice. Basic hotel in the centre of town but I thought it a bit expensive for what you get. The second time we had our 20 year old daughter with us and the fold down bed was uncomfortable and she moved out.We requested a late checkout which the reception agreed to. I asked about additional charges and got the message that there wasn't any. Funny that on check out I was pinged for late check out. Marina the receptionist was very unhelpful and insisted on payment. I would not recommend this hotel. After a month driving around Spain there is a lot better options.
We had a superior room with a view of the Gran Via. This was probably not the best idea as the street was very noisy right throughout the night. The room itself was clean, a good size and comfortable, but the lack of efficient double glazing meant that having a good night's sleep was difficult. The room included a kettle and tea/coffee which we appreciated. Breakfasts were reasonable and the staff helpful. Although the location was very central, we would probably try to find a quitter location next time we are in Madrid.
I've stayed in this hotel a few years ago and I liked the location , the bedrooms have been done up. There is no bar and a tiny public area , I arrived before check in time and had to wait until 2pm ..fine I knew before I arrived. I'd booked "room with view" with The hotel directly , the views were of Gran Via however the rooms are clinical almost the feeling as if your in a Residental Care Home , bare floors , white walls etc.in fairness the bathroom is one if its best features with a fantastic walk in "Rain Shower" and plenty of extras and lovely towels. For some reason the room seemed freezing , no idea why as the outside temperatures were high. I had breakfast included , 1st morning breakfast was a battlefield , it was due to my timing as the waiter told me he whole hotel comes at the same time so I came back between 9 and 9.30 ... I wasn't in a hurry, breakfast is good to be fair ..selection of juices , fruit , bread and cakes , the usual queue for the toaster , the hot dishes were excellent, good quality bacon, Spanish omelette , scrambled eggs ( mind you on the 2nd day there was pasta for breakfast -no comment) . One feature is and a big thank you to Tryp they now have an electric kettle so you make really hot tea etc . To anyone that's staying there this hotels is in one of the best locations as you can walk anywhered , staff were nice and the housekeeping staff were exceptionally nice - i'd come back for the location
This hotel is in the centre of this nice city and in front of a metro station, so well connected to everything. The room should have been a bit bigger since it was difficult to move around. The staff was really friendly and all went alright. So apart from the size of the room, I had a nice staying here. Breakfast is good as well.
