I'm sitting in the lobby bar on our last nigh in Madrid posting this. What can I say -other than if you're in Madrid, try to stay at this hotel. The trendy and quirky rooms were a surprise...I'll say no more. The hotels welcome and complimentary offerings again I'll say no more but they are such a lovely touch. And the staff - all of them from the doormen, to the concierge, the cleaning staff to the bar and Restaraunt staff are all utterly lovely and go out of their way to help, in both large and small ways, unexpected but wonderful. The staff really can't do enough to help you. Breakfasts are varied, and beautifully presented with unusual juices. The hot breakfasts are delicious. The Glass Bar drinks are exceptional - try one of the gin mixers, and not overly priced for a hotel of this kind. The hotel is brilliantly placed to see the sights of Madrid on foot, or everything is a taxi ride away. It had wheelchair access and lifts and hard flooring everywhere would make it an easy place to stay for a wheelchair bound person.
Lovely hotel with super friendly helpful staff. Nice facilities. Great central location within easy walking distance of many attractions. Very comfortable room. Great roof bar. We would u 'd definitely stay here again.
Close to all there is to see . Very clean . Nice room . Best breakfast with a menue option plus bufete . Very good service from staff . Small gym and small pooll on the roof. Public areas are not very large
Hotel Urban fulfills all the qualities that one expects from an upscale, boutique artsy hotel. The interior design is modern and sleek, almost like a film set, The staff is very efficient, and truly goes the extra mile to please its clients. When we arrived, there was some confusion about when our junior suite would be ready. Because we were so exhausted from the flight, the hotel actually offered the use of a temporary room until our suite was ready. Impressive. Our junior suite was tastefully decorated, large and comfortable, and the bathroom was fabulous. The windows faced the interior of the hotel which ensured peace and quiet but made the room quite dark. The lighting system is elaborate but I would have preferred a little natural light. The reception desk and concierges were extremely eager to please us, and made great recommendations. Every afternoon, there was a gift waiting in our suite: chocolates, strawberries, even a bottle of Cava. We did not opt for the breakfast service but it looked good. We particularly liked the Urban's location which was near to the museums, and the lovely Huertas and Las Letras barrios.
My wife and I had a great three day stay. This is a modern, stylish boutique hotel with an Asian feng shui feel. Our suite (small room with small sitting room above) the first night was comfortable, but a little tight. We were upgraded to a magnificent two story suite with very high ceilings and large windows with automatic blinds. The hotel is staff is very friendly and helpful. The roof bar is great for cocktails and tapas. Make sure to sign up for the breakfast - its a great deal. It includes entrees such as eggs benedict or blini with smoke salmon, plus a spread of meats, cheese, fresh berries, baked goods and a variety of juices.
