Great Staff and Location-Wonderful Breakfast

Jorge at check in was very help and accommodating. As a SPG Gold I was upgraded standard 2 twin bed room to a King Executive room. My loyalty program challenged colleague had 4 separate SPG accounts and Jorge went through each one to find which had the highest status, Gold, so he could upgrade him. Jorge even told him how he could combine this accounts into one and link his Marriott Rewards account...I know my colleague will never do this. The bellmen out front are superb. I was at the property for 5 nights and Javier was always helpful getting me cabs.Concierge gave maps and directions plus the loan of a nice umbrella on a rainy Sunday...much appreciated. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. If you can book a breakfast package when you make your reservation, as to add breakfast at a discounted price at check in. The room under the dome is beautiful. The breakfast spread it out of this world. Self service mimosas are available...never tried them as this was a work trip. Great European hot chocolate....much better than what Starbucks tried in the US a few years back. Cooked to order eggs available, pre toasted bread by the egg window is a nice touch. Plenty of smoked meats including Iberian ham, bacon, sausage etc. Great baked beans, cheese, yogurts and juices.....well worth the €€.Hotel is near the Prado, Naval Museum and two or three other museums. Go out the front door and make a hard left up the side street and wander about the many tapas places and other old bars and restaurants. Seemed safe at night just use good judgement. There is even a fast Tapas place across the street 100 Montaditos. Never tried it but gets decent reviews and is close. The hotel bar is not bad and has decent food.Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Hotel

Recently we stayed here for three nights. We had a small hiccup at the check-in and got a room we didn't like but it was readily taken care of when we approached the SPG reception again and were given a very good and spacious room on a different floor. Westin palace is perfectly situated for going about in Madrid. It is also close to many good restaurants and bars. All the staff are welcoming and helpful. Food and service are of high order. Great stay.

Wonderful service and perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed the impeccable service given to us at the Palace. We were traveling with our 10 month old and (as always) way too much luggage. The staff could not have been more helpful. We were upgraded upon check in and out room was gorgeous. Room service was delicious and fast and the breakfast was amazing! I love how it's a fancy hotel but not too pretentious. We felt comfortable with our young baby. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again when in Madrid.

Excellent accommodations and service. We felt that the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we've had. Next time, we'll stay for the Sunday brunch. (Hopefully soon!)

Great amenities and location!

We spent our time in Madrid in two different hotels and the Westin was definitely the winner. The location is perfect for seeing the arts and sights of the Prado, Reina Sofia, and the Park Retiro. Also its right in the heart of the classier part of Madrid's nightlife with great restaurants and bars all around. The room was nice and big by european standards. The bed was comfortable as expected. Yes its a little dated but the quality of the property can't be matched and it was very clean. Had the opportunity to spend some time at the bar downstairs and enjoyed some other amenities. The exterior of the building is very grand.
