We had 3 Rooms My room was 129 and my friends had 130 and 131, It was on the first floor with my balcony backing onto a walkthrough and a nightclub. So no Sleep for any of us Thursday,Friday,Saturday as the revellers came out of the night club at all hours from 1am until 5am. It seemed to be a hangout point right below our balconies. Total Disaster and not worth taking the risk of booking this hotel again if I was allocated one of these rooms.
Stayed in a penthouse for a week from 28th August with our 2 teenage kids. The apartments are centrally located directly across from the marina and near the kids fair (too small for our 2). We had the penthouse which was fab ... really big 1 bed part ... twin beds in bedroom, loads of wardrobe space and 2 large 3 seater sofas in the lounge, underneath which was single roll away beds for the kids which was great that they didn't have to share a double! The sofas were that big and comfy 2 more could have easily slept on these too. Our rooftop space which you accessed via a spiral staircase from the apt was amazing. Dual aspect views .... Los Boliches beach one side and the marina/main pool the other .... loads of space ... you literally could have had 30 people up there ... 4 sun loungers and a table and chairs for 4, although some shade would have been welcome! The small pool was great for a dip to cool off and was just over waist deep but pop a lilo in there and perfect for cool sunbathing especially since gloats aren't permitted in the main pool. We spent the mornings up there, ate breakfast and lunch which we purchased from the supermarket across the toad along with some beers and wine, then tended to head down to the main pool late afternoon to swim. For what they are these apts are great ... big, clean and loads of utensils etc .... for those with younger kids though they don't have entertainment or anything to keep them entertained day/night and there are a number of nationalities around the pool so can be difficult for them to make friends so maybe best place to hold with a group. Locally there's loads around ... so many restaurants it's unbelievable! People have mentioned the brothel and prostitutes which yes we did see just one night on the Sat around the front of the hotel. We walked past no other and tbh it didn't ruin my holiday nor would it stop me from staying here because the view, facilities and size of these apts are worth it. As well as the rooftop space we also have a huge balcony off the lounge so that's were we ate as it was closer to the kitchen and shaded then we headed back up yo the rooftop. I recommend bringing speakers to make the most of the space! Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and if we ever came again we would always get the Penthouse.... it was soooo definitely worth the little extra! Don't worry about the negative reviews, a holiday is what you make it and the penthouse is like your own little oasis.
Stayed here for 10 nights in July with my partner and 5 year old son. We all absolutely loved it. In room 915, with great views of the pool, marina and beach. Lovely pool with plenty of loungers and space. Lifeguards (can only remember one name, Jesus) were so attentive and alert at all times. The bar outside in the evening was lovely for a drink or two before heading for evening meal. Keep up the excellent work PYR! See you next summer!!
Stayed here for a golfing trip, on arrival hotel looks nice, cannot fault staff or cleanliness of roomsHotel rooms very tired and dated like most of the resort, we had a dog barking across the hall at every noise, pool area closed at 6pm when it was still very warm and plenty of daylight left, The area around the hotel very seedy and street full of prostitutes, getting into the hotel was a joke, and beware them trying to rob you.
The PYR staff are all great and couldn't be more helpful but we won't be staying again, we were in a 1st floor apartment facing the pool area which is very well looked after and clean our apartment was very clean apart from the balcony hadn't been cleaned and had cigarette stubs on the window sills..the let down is the strip club underneath the noise started at midnight and finished at 6am it was horrendous men shouting, woman screaming you would think they were in our room it was so bad...if I were the manager of the hotel I would try and get them moved or have triple glazing installed.
