My husband and cousin spend 5 nights at the hotelroom 524We had a lovely view, food was ok not a great choice for size of hotel no ice cream..soup was lovely.staff were very nice..The hotel needs to suit for a while to be totally cleaned and gutted and brought up to 4star standard.i think it was given 4star in the 80s.The curtains were hanging off the rails.net curtains on windows were filthy.sofa bed was dirty.balcony furniture was all stained and needed replaced.microwave was dirty.we didn't use the kitchen area much.but there was 3 of us in the apartment.and we only had 2 cups 2 plates 2 side plates.2 balcony chairs.almost 2 or 1 of everything lol. We were told the hotel was disabled friendly as my husband has walking disabilities and uses a mobility scooter.well it's not.there is a small step to get from room to balcony and also a step to get to pool area.not very disabled friendly..no walk in showers. The pool area is lovely but definitely needs more sunbed.most of the sunbeds are broken.i almost fell through one.The pool bar is good and the bbq is lovely.I was lucky enough to get Wi-Fi in my room. The beds were comfy and aircon was good.I used the gate on street level to get in and out of the hotel as the hotel reception is on a very steep hill..P in elevator takes u to the parking area and that's street level.Entertainment rubbish.we went out every night. The beach is about 5 mins wall and is lovely10euro for 2 beds and a parasolIf the hotel was up to standard I would be back as I liked the area it was quiet and did enjoy my holiday.
We are coming to the end of our holiday at Vistamar. This is a fine place for a holiday. No complaints whatsoever. Some previous reviews had me worried but were groundless really. All is well here. Come and enjoy. For those worried about the hill the pedestrian entrance through the garage was open all the time for us, not just till 9 so you don't have to tackle the hill at all. You can be at the beach and in the sea in 5 mins. Hotel Pool is grand. Can always get a sunbed, not always in shade but if not shaded tables to sit at. Or drag a sunbed to the garden area under a tree.Pool snack food is good and pool snack bar staff very nice. Reasonable cocktails snacks etc. Yummy sangria.Cleaning staff and cleaning/accommodation manager lady very nice. Got everything we asked for straight away no problems (toaster, kettle, extra towels). Offered to clean room every day. Rooms grand with balcony big bathroom. Hot water every time needed good waterpressure. Very handy to pop up to garage to the right for fresh milk, or to the decent supermarket to the right for juices and snacks. Walk to the left for few minutes for restaurants or souvenirs/beach gear. Or cross road to seafront for some nice seafront t restaurants on the beach. Or take 6 euro /7 euro to Puerto Marina for marina front shops and restaurants. Bus to torremolinos across the road (180 number I think) or taxi to torremolinos around 12/14euro. Some might not like very central and very busy popular resort. Not remote quiet getaway. But we found it great to have everything so handy once we got used to that. Recommend Sabatinis (italian very reasonable, staff lovely) and Luna Beach restaurant (European bistro great salads, beautiful location very helpful/fun staff, great food, lovely setting little more expensive but not ridiculous ). Enjoy
Don't believe all the bad reviews, this hotel is not that bad although it could do with a bit of a refurbish. The reception team are very helpful. The rooms are okay and was serviced most days with fresh towels, We had to request a kettle on the first day but it was delivered within the hour. Pool are is good although not enough sunbeds and some of them need replaced as they are damaged. Pool side bar drinks reasonably priced and the food from the bbq was very good. Entertainment was not brilliant and there is no kids club.A tip if you do not want to walk up the steep hill to the hotel entrance is to go through the garage gate, there is a pedestrian gate that is not locked, walk up to and through the garage and get the lift up to you floor.
We stayed there from the 2-12 July. We are a family of two adults and two kids 5+10. On arrival we were allocated out room straight away by friendly reception staff. Our room was 702 which was a very large room with a bedroom and two sofa beds. It was clean and well stocked with any cooking equipment of required. The pool was very clean and a decent size and there was just about enough sun beds for everyone, although a few were broken. There is a sign saying the pool opens at 10 am and if any towels are laid on sunbeds they would be removed but I was down there every morning about 8:30 reserving mine before the huge Irish family took them all 😉. There was a diverse range of guests, but most were British or Irish and everyone was very friendly, I am not sure about the comments made in a review referring to guests as drop outs, that's a ridiculous comment to make, she is obviously from the silver spoon community, in my honest opinion if she didn't think she got value for money then she is diluded. The food was good and there was always at least three choices of main, the waiters were friendly and cleared your table regularly. There is a burger king next door and there is always vouchers for a cheap lunch. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and there are regular buses to the Marina for about a euro fifty, This is a very cheap hotel and excellent value for money. Everyone was friendly including other guests. I almost forgot, we went out most evenings so I I can't complain about entertainment, we did watch a magic show one night and my kids loved it, we also went next door to the Benalmadena Palace and there was a kids disco which was very good. If I was to be pernickety I would say a few more sunbeds are required and maybe a kids entertainment programme for during the day, but we loved our stay and can't really fault it.
I choose this hotel with my son because it said there was a kids club. There was none. No entertainment. The rooms were average, very strong smell of cigarettes from the curtains. The bedding was very old. On our last day sitting by the pool there was a woman chatting away to a few others and apparently she was bitten by bedbugs. Her body was destroyed by them, hundreds of bites up n down all her body. Thankfully it was our last day and we had checked out.
