We visited the Vistamar Hotel 3 years ago and loved it. This visit in May was a bit of a disappointment. The hotel has not invested in itself and is a bit run down. The staff in the restaurant were the real high point of the stay. They were friendly and helpful and the food was good, if a bit repetitive. The entertainment was really poor. They didn't even show football games on the big TVs. The tv has two English news channels despite claims of other channels. The rooms are well cleaned and fresh towels are left every day. The pool area is run down and broken loungers are the order of the day. We were told off for giving my 9 month old Granddaughter juice that wasn't purchased at the bar.On our third day, of a seventeen night stay, a 100ml bottle of aftershave disappeared from our room. My wife flagged up our concern to reception. To say they were unhelpful would be a huge understatement. My wife explained that only a maid and a handyman had access to the room. My wife went back after a couple of days and was told they had spoke to the maid and handyman and they denied taking it. And the hotel couldn't do anything else. This went back and forward for days. Eventually my wife said she would call the police. They told us the police wouldn't be interested and would find in their favour. But all of a sudden the maid remembered that she had found the bottle of aftershave smashed on the floor and had tidied it up. HMMM. On the last day of our holiday the hotel gave us a three day pass for the internet ( that didn't even work!!). And suggested it was our fault because we hadn't put the aftershave in the safe?? I hope they invest some money in the hotel because it is in a good spot and could easily be brought back up to a good standard.
Just returned from the vistamar aparthotel belmadena.it is a 4 star hotel but is more 2 star in my opinion. It's a big hotel we were on the 5th floor and our view was a wall from another hotel and a pitch and put area.the balcony was very dangerous for anyone with young children so it was off limits for the week.it was also very small with a step down which was the same colour tile as the floor so it was easy to trip over it.the apartment was very small and dated very 1985 maby 4 star then but definitely not now.also the lock on the front door was very low and my 2yr old was able to open it and on one occasion he opened it and ran down 2 flights of stairs while I used the bathroom.so not child friendly and also the children's pool was way too small and dirty and no life guard on duty.on the plus side the food was very good with a great choice and the staff were very nice and helpful.overall this hotel should not be rated 4 star I've stayed in 2 star before and they were even better
well where do I start just returned today after seven days holiday, hotel says four star would not give it one star the board basis was half board breakfast cereals was poor bacon only half cooked not seen any eggs all week or tomatoes and they even put on cold vegatables toaster you had to put your bread in at least four times to go brown and the evening meal was unbelievable soup was like washing up water poor selection even chicken wings as main only chips to go with it plus cool veg deserts only saw fresh fruit once no ice cream for children and only a gateux and cold rice pudding bedroom was clean but the two sofer beds had been repaired and still had rips under seat you sit on.the pool area sun beds where broken under the mats you lay on small garden area more sun beds but same as around pool area also some small lights in garden the tops where hanging loose do believe people complained nothing done so if you have booked this hotel or thinking don't waste your money look else where as I say this hotel should not be four star.
Food good , rooms clean and tidy ,But situated on quite a steep hill, allRight going down but not so going up,Found some of the reception not overall helpfullDon't think I would book these apartments again because of their location .
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on a half board basis. We had a car and paid €10 on the first day but realised very quickly that there is ample free off street parking. I can't understand how the hotel is 4 star. The apartments are really basic. We were so dissapointed with the half board. The dining room was dirty and the food lacked variety. Overall, not impressed unfortunately.
