Don't normally moan about a hotel always grateful to be somewhere different but this hotel I can only describe as the Spanish Faulty Towers. My room was basic and mostly clean. Bleach was left in the bath which was nice also towels might get changed depends how they feel on the day. We asked for 2 extra pillows and got 1and again some days the room wasn't cleaned until we had returned from a night out. Now i turn to the food. Well breakfast was an experience it seems it was physically impossible to have bread/rolls and any hot food together. When i asked for either to be replenished you just got it's coming and then the staff walked off. Only one toast machine and a constant wait for cups - obviously breakfast comes as a shock to them every morning as this was repeated on a daily basis. No need to mention dinner as this was just the same. No Good morning or evening as you sat down and three times we had finished dinner before we were even asked if we wanted a drink. I found the restaurant staff rude and unapproachable and to be fair so did most of the people I spoke to.My mum can not use the stairs very well and i was totally blown away when the cleaning staff pushed in front of her to take the lift. No consideration and they saw there was a queue of people waiting to get to the restaurant. We had a room by the pool and for 5 days two glasses of half empty drinks were left. No attention to detail at all and on our last night we were approached by the waiting staff ( first time they actually spoke to us ) to say we had not paid for our meal (We are half board) I explained we had checked out and that we are leaving and that we arrived late on our first day. The rude waiter would not listen he got louder causing a scene, then after the manager came realised their mistake and gave an insincere apology. We left and waited for our transfer back. Not great at all. Shame really only ended up at this hotel due to Monarch going into administration, we should have been at the Sorocco.
This hotel was a 4* in the 70's. When we arrived at 11.00 a.m. we were allocated our room at 15.30 pm that was a good start. Travel agent said we would have a room with a balcony but couldn't guarantee a sea view, fair enough. Our room No. 716 had a small walled off shoot with a generator and stone bench which we could stand on to see the sea, this was our balcony. Twice in the week our room was missed for cleaning. One day we left the room having two hand towels, two clean bath towels and a bath mat. We came back and had only one bath towel, reception said they were waiting on them coming in. They did at 9.00 at night. Two mornings there was no margarine or butter I asked the waitress she said there's none. I bought butter to last the week. Two mornings only we had melon. Salt cellars were kept on the buffet bar and if you weren't quick you had to go to other tables and ask to borrow theirs. Meals were usually cooked too long some in fact burnt. Some of the sunbeds were ready for collapse. Not a great choice of hot meals but plenty of salad therefore you don't starve. Most of the time the meals were cold and had to be heated in the microwave which isn't a problem. Definitely wouldn't go back there. It is very badly managed.
This may have been 4 star at some point but it isn't anymore. We were only booked for 1 night. The stay was only ok. It badly needs investment. We did not try the food. There is also a steep hill up to the entrance. But once you are checked in you can enter and exit from the garage so you don't have to walk up the hill. The room was clean and the bed was quite comfy. The room was very dark as the centre light should have had 2 or 3 lamps in it but only 1 worked. The bedside lampshades were wrecked. The upholstery on the fold down couch was badly torn. There were lights out in the bathroom too and we only had a half used toilet roll with no spare. Watch yourself in the shower, it's a mixer tap and the water goes from your set temperature to very hot to cold and back again so be prepared to step out and in the spray as you wash. The beach across the road is very nice but the hotel is too far away from the majority of bars so there is a poor choice if you are eating out unless you like a good walk or get transport. I would not recommend this place
please can someone advise of a room number-floor that has a really good decent view of the sea with views (not the pool),myself and husband just recently married and have book a 2 week stay, our room and view is more important to us than the food tbh as we can always eat out but can not sleep out!! thank you greatly if you would be able to helpkind regards Tina
Stayed here in june 7 night 2 adults 2 children bed and breakfast was unsure after reading all the bad reviews but I couldn't fault the hotel room was really nice ,cleaned every day with clean towels breakfast was nice didn't eat dinner here.we had a pool view so we could see the beach,as for the steep hill if you go the the garage on the bottom floor from the lift you can walk through the gate so no hill to walk up.close to burger king and the supermarket ,beach right the much better than all the other packed out hotels in the area,if you prefer it a little quieter like me ,would stay here again over other hotel in the area loads of places to eat and lots of stuff to do for the kids
