Dont book

First impression it has changed its name. Arrived in reception to a very unhelpful inapproachable man. Did not say hello/welcome or anything made me wait 5 mins before acknowledging me and my family. Took pass ports and checked us in then in a frosty voice said "restaurant closed at 21.30 did not explain where anywhere was for water snacks etc. Got into our room 204 lovely big room but for 3 adults and 1 child we had 2 pillows between us. I went to reception (to the frosty man again) and requested 2 more pillows to be told house keeping not available until Monday morning. To which my reply was " not acceptable please go into a in occupied room and get me 2 pillows and 2 blankets" as there was just a sheet on the pull out sofa. Although the rooms are self catering you have to pay for a kettle in your room !!! That night we found the bar very reasonably priced!! but again staff very miserable and husband and son had a game of pool, then staff began to turn the very low music off and started turning the lights off around peoples tables whilst they sat having a quiet drink (again very rude n customer relations. By midnight we had been told to go up stairs and sit in reception as the bar was closed!!!The first morning for breakfast when we eventually found it (as on arrival the previous night "Mr Frosty" did not explain where anything was) we was again met by staff who again could not bring himself to smile or acknowledge us so we found our own table and began to get breakfast.... very poor choice of hot food very minimal and what food there was almost cold. It was the same for the evening meal. From then on we ate out at COCOS SPORTS BAR MASSIVE MEAL SIZES AND REALLY GOOD PRICES.Please don't waste your hard earned money and time booking this hotel. We spent most of our time in the Benalmadena Plalace right next door....fab food drinks and lovely friendly staff

Lovely room great value

Just got back from a Last minute week away. "Something cheap" we needed. A little dubious with the outside look. Reception staff very pleasant n helpful. When we got to our apartment all I can say is: large room, nice bathroom and lovely bedroom. Very quite. Great size balcony with fab sea view with sun all day. )special request was sea view). We never ate there but had the extra option of breakfast and evening meal. People around said it was good. The bar served light food etc. Sadly there was no entertainment the week we were there. The maid changed towels daily n dusted around and kept clean. Swimming pool looked nice but too cold in February. The only downside was it was quite a walk to the harbour etc Little tip / going through double gates and through the garage car park to use the lifts is easier than the hill to the front doors.

Pleasant stay

Stayed in a studio on 6th floor. Reasonably well set out with double bed, small kitchenette, sitting area with sofa bed and nice bathroom. The hot water supply seemed to be on and off at some times of the day. The kitchen utensils are sparse. No cutting board or bread knife, no wine glasses and we had to buy a wine corkscrew. The rooms on th sixth floor are built into the slope of the roof and consequently there is a high solid wall around the balcony with no view unless you stand on the concrete ledge to look over. We asked if we could change to a room with a proper balcony with a view (we requested this on our booking) and were told there were none available because the hotel was full. This did not seem to ring true in Jan/feb and judging by the small number of people milling around in the public areas, around the pool and in the bar/resturaunt etc. I just think it was too much of a bother for the manager to change us which was a disappointment. However despite the above we did have a pleasant stay in these apartments which are situated in the quiet end of Benalmadena but close enough with a nice walk along the sea front.
