Had an amazing two weeks staying at this hotel. The staff are so friendly towards you right from the get go. The food is good -especially if you like fish- I felt there could have been a little more variation in food choice at dinner but the quality of the food was fantastic and in regard to the entertainment, could be a little more lively, did feel ourselves feeling sleepy listening to the live music, but hey can't please everyone's taste in music. Some staff members we would like to acknowledge are: the young pool attendant (one with the tattoo on his leg) he is always so happy to help you no matter what and always has a smile on his face, a very friendly person. Would also like to thank Gilberto Castro for giving us two passes to enjoy a spa treatment for my birthday, which was absolutely amazing! Thank you. The lady who worked in the spa, I think her name was "Lola" we would like to thank her for being so kind and explaining everything in detail as it was our first time being at a Spa, I feel she made our experience 10x better with her friendly nature, telling us that because it was quiet in the spa not to worry about time and just enjoy it for as long as we wished. She is a great asset to your team here at the Melia. After staying in Torremolinos many times, I have to say this hotel has been the greatest of them all!Thank you so much for making our holiday that much more enjoyable.Arran & JessRoom 121:)
We stayed at this lovely hotel from 24th of June for 18 nights,we booked the level as was a special birthday and this was worth every penny extra. On arrival the lovely Milo showed us around and to our room explaining every thing along the way. All of the staff work above and beyond but we must pay particular comments to all that work as part of the level, even more so as Maria just made our whole holiday complete, nothing at all was any trouble and such a wonderful lady. Also many thanks to Yasmin for joining in with the surprises. Our room 758 was very comfortable, hotel cleanliness immaculate and all professional but warm greetings from all. Food lovely, you could always find something to your taste, we had no problems with any of this. Location was brilliant for us for local and travel and yes, even a lovely sand man called Mick, for a small payment even done a birthday message for hubby. A rare occasion but I for one was very sad to leave this fabulous hotel.
We spent a fortnight here in February 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms all have wonderful sea views and the decor and cleanliness of the hotel is marvellous. All staff are always polite, friendly and helpful and everything that makes a holiday great is done for you. There is a large bar and live music most evenings there. I spoke to Senor Jose Luis Gomez, the Sales Director of the hotel, who was very helpful and enthusiastic about the future of the hotel and really addressed the enquiries I had. The restaurant is one of the hotel's biggest assets, however. The excellence of the wide menu at all meals and the choice of meal plans, even offering full-board, is very unusual, very welcome and signifies the extent to which management care about customer service. My husband is vegetarian and the Chefs cooked special meals for him. We are booking again for 2018 and look forward to another very satisfactory and enjoyable stay. Trips can be booked at Reception and we went to Cordoba for a day. The mosque there (Mesquita) was truly stunning. There is a Roman Bridge and river nearby with beautiful blue and white Iris growing along it. An information board showed the Ibis and other marsh birds to be seen, so take your binoculars if you like bird watching. There are many interesting places to go around Torremolinos and the hotel makes a good centre for seeing these. The train running behind the Costa's resorts has cheap fares. It goes to Malaga (stunning Cathedral and excellent Museum of Automotives and Fashion), Plaza Mayor retail outlet (Massimo Dutti cut price!) and Fuengirola. A bus takes you down to Marbella in only an hour and to Mijas Costa, nearby. I cannot recommend the position and ambiance of this hotel highly enough.
We are currently staying at this hotel and can't believe that no one else has complained about the food being cold. For example tonight battered broccoli, the batter was uncooked, the ordinary broccoli was cold , pizza and pasta and pasta sauce was cold, sliced potatoes were cold, pork was raw, and this is just the selection we had. This has been the same every night and I don't understand why the food is cold. Our room is nice, no complaints there, staff don't seem to be interested in the guests. In other hotels we have been in the staff always greet the guests with a hello or a smile but here they barely acknowledge you. We also have just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and noted that other guests have reviewed that they received wine etc, what's good for one guest should be good for another. Don't think we will be using this chain of hotels again
Just returned from a lovely holiday at the Melia Costa Del Sol. We stayed in a Deluxe room, it was very nice though I wouldnt really say it was deluxe. It had a walk in shower, mini bar and kettle with tea bags (no coffee) the 3 tea bags were not replaced when finished. We were BB. The breakfast was lovely plenty of choice. The pool is small, doesnt open until 9am. This was good as always got a sunbed on the upper terrace that we preferred as there was some strange music played at the pool. After a few hours it started to drive us crazy😆. Drinks expensive €12 for bombay saphire that could be bought for €6 in local restaurants. Great location handy for everything. Would definately return.
