Visited 7th to 17th October as a “Level” guest. Immediately we had checked in we were greeted by a dedicated Level concierge who arranged for our luggage to be taken to our room and then escorted us to the private Level lounge for a snack lunch and drinks. As soon as we were finished and our room was ready we were escorted there by another of the concierges where we were shown the room facilities and then left to unpack our already delivered luggage. Nice to be made to feel “special “ on arrival.Room 770 was of average size and, like many hotel rooms, would have benefited from a few more hangers in the wardrobe and another set of drawers.Room contained two large twin beds and the bedding was changed most days. Mini bar, kettle and Nespresso machine were in the room and replenished twice daily. Large flat screen TV with BBC 1 and ITV plus news channels.Bathroom was small but adequate with a nice walk in shower. Towels were changes at least once a day and often twice.Balcony was fairly small with two chairs and a small table. Other than hanging items on the balcony rail there were no facilities for drying swimwear etc.Hotel was kept immaculately clean throughout. Staff were always polite and friendly.Main dining room could be a little noisy at times. Food was found to be very good with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The Level private lounge provide drinks and snacks from 8am to 11pm with the menu and available drinks varied throughout the day. International spirits were available in the evening upto 10pm.For the size of the hotel the pool and patio area were very small, however, the pool area and sun deck area did not open until 9am and there was never a mad scramble for sun beds.We were told that the hotel is about to convert the roof areas into sun decks wit pools. Block A opening spring 2018 and Block B, exclusively for Level customers, spring 2019
Our second visit this year. Always a pleasure to stay here. The staff are friendly and hotel is always clean and the superior rooms are great. Large clean and airy restaurant with a great choice of well cooked differing foods. We have stayed here for a number of years and am looking forward to booking again soon.
We have just spent 10 lovely days in Torremolinos. We had a nice suite on the 5th floor (516) with a stunning view. The hotel is really nice, but there are a few things that could be improved. The breakfast is really excellent. There is so much to choose from, and the staff were more than helpful when our son wasn’t feeling good and they helped us take breakfast to our room. But the noise in the breakfast restaurant is horrible. With marble floors and nothing to reduce the noise and no possibility to sit outside and enjoy the breakfast, it was not a meal to spend much time on.We experienced a lack of consequent house keeping. Some days we had enough coffee, some days not. Some days the sofa bed was folded, some days it wasn’t. Two days we didn’t get enough towels, etc. Of course we contacted the reception, but it shouldn’t be necessary in a hotel of Melia’s standards. We had a suite with three people in it. We asked the reception for extra towels, bath robe, extra glasses, extra cups etc. but nothing happened. Again - it shouldn’t be necessary. We payed for three - the suite should be equipped for three. There is no place to hang the beach/pool towels to dry. In October they can’t dry overnight if hung over the balcony chairs - and to change them cost one euro for each towel. If no drying possibilities are offered, changing should be free. But - we need to tell the good things too:WiFi worked excellently both in the rooms and the rest of the premises.Parking was great. We had rented a big car, and always had good room for it.Staff - can’t say it enough - SO HELPFUL and very friendly. The pool area is very clean, and with great bar service.
Nothing to dislike about the hotel. It is large but we never felt as if we were in a crowd or crowded. Hotel was busy with a lot of comming and going but again we were not bothered or inconvenienced, in fact it was interesting watching all the coach movements. Good sea view from balcony and location is good being easy walking to most things.
We stayed here in September 2016 and September 2017 and it is a really comfortable hotel with a marble reception, a good buffet restaurant, nice bar, a decent enough small gym and nice large pool area with lots of beds.. The room has all you would need except for tea and coffee and the bed is super comfortable. We stayed half board in 2017 and the restaurant serves a good selection of food, however wrong bulbs must have been put into the halogen lights keeping the fish dishes warm as although the fish was being regularly refreshed, it was, at best, cool. The temperature showed as being 82 degrees which is the correct temperature for keeping food hot and safe but the heat was only coming from below with the bulbs above offering no heat. The metal spoon which was in the serving trays could be easily picked up, when leaving it in should have made it too hot to handle. My major gripe is that the hotel let itself down.with the small touches. When we stayed here in 2016 we notified them that we were on our honeymoon which was not acknowledged in any way and when we returned this year we notified the hotel that we were returning to celebrate our wedding anniversary which was was again not acknowledged. On both occasion we moved on to other hotels and were immediately upgraded, which I appreciate is not always possible and I did not expect. For a hotel chain the size of the Melia to not recognise, even in even a small and arbitary way, that you are celebrating a major life event and choosing to spend it in their hotel was strange. (For instance the hotel opens dozens of bottles of cava at breakfast every morning so something small like a bottle of this throwaway cava in our room would have been a nice touch).
