"Another amazing stay at the don Marco"

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it always gives the same service even at the peak of the holiday season they never fail to reach your expectations!! All the staff are very helpful and the management are always on hand to make sure your enjoying your stay

lovely hotel

I really liked this hotel, the buffet was very nice and there was a lot of variety. There were several pools which made ot less busy at the pools, there were plenty of activities throughthe day(gym) and at night. The location is very good, near the sea and the room is lovely an big. The front of the hotel is not very nice but don`t let that scare you, the hotel is big, lovely and the gardens are lovely. I would go there again when in Spain.

Not the best place I have been to.

My wife, toddler and myself stayed at Don Marco early July for 5 nights.Unfortunately, the check in experience was probably one of my worst experience. We arrived late afternoon after a day spent n Granada. On arrival, I felt lucky because no one was queuing at the reception. We were greeted and that was it for a solid few minutes. Both receptionists totally ignored us " trying to figure out how to use a new booking system". They didn't bother explaining me what was going on so we were just waiting. I made them understand the situation and got an apology. We were explained some features of the hotel and that was it. The bedroom was of reasonable size but outdated. The queen bed wasn't very confortable and mattress, quite thin need replacement as we could see it was curved and guess where people are in sleeping position. Very disappointing. The bathroom was ok. Overall, the room need some fixing ( bed side light was broken) and to be refurbished. We were told that we had a big balcony. (Room 5001) True, it was huge but empty ! Only A table with a few chairs + 2 sun loungers. The exposure is full sun but no parasol, no shade :( The restaurant was fine. Plenty of food but the cutleries and glasses not so clean. I felt sorry for the staff working there. It felt like a huge canteen. Nevertheless, Our waitress, Amanda was outstanding ! the other staff too. The grounds are well maintained except for the palm trees. Don Marco swimming pool was pleasant. Overall, it was a nice stay but for the price, I am not too sure. I hope the management will acknowledge the above and do something about it.

Spacious grounds

Just returned from a wonderful star at Marco. Love the spacious grounds and variety of pools and gardens. Cleanliness is amazing, inside and outside. The choice of two dining rooms was great and food was excellent. We had a sea view and it was wonderful to sit on the balcony in the evening and relax.. We loved the big newly redone, dining room in Paulo - the entrance hall is beautiful - we called it the marble halls- contemporary style and elegant. The smaller dining room in Marco is old world and very cosy.All the pools were immaculate clean. Our problem with the pools is that they all (apart from small children's) have too much variation of depth. Quite a small pool can have 3 levels, none of which is long enough for any level of swimmer to be happy in. Instead of keeping everyone happy we have no one happy. I say more even level pools, around 1.3mStaff are helpful but on our departure there was a Taxi strike in the general Malaga area and we only discovered it when we went to book out. Perhaps a notice could have been posted to let people know so they could make other arrangements to get to Airport. We had to walk and haul cases to train - and receptionist told us about the elevator to get up to town but he failed to mention that it did not start working until 10 am. We had walked half a mile , with cases, to find that out and then back again before selecting a different roue to train. Lucky we had not left our departure to last minute.One other minor slip in staff inter communications was that since it was our 40th wedding anniversary we had been promised , by email, that there would be a bottle of bubbly in our room on arrival. It did not appear. As everything else was so good we did not follow up on that.

another great stay at the don marco, everything was fine from checking in to eating ,sunbathing ,and sleeping, the receptionists and the bar staff were very welcoming the price of beer a bit on the expensive side but what the heck your on holiday, going again in october,
