We stayed 4 nights in the Don Marco, From the moment we arrived we enjoyed our stay, A special thanks to Anna on reception desk, she is a credit to the hotel. The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean. I have read that some people are complaining about the food, our party of 4 people did not find one thing to complain about, I would return to this hotel and would recommend to anyone, the location is perfect for the beach, promenade and old town.
The Don Marco is one of three interlinked Hotels, the other two being the Don Pedro and the Don Pablo. This was our fifth visit previously staying in the Don Pedro and usually in November. The Don Pedro rooms have recently been refurbish to a bright (very white) modern standard. The Don Marco rooms are still the original more tranquil finish. The complex is in an ideal location, just across the road from the beach at the Malaga end of Torremolinos. It’s an easy walk up to the town centre.Amenities includes 6 swimming pools, 5 outside and 1 inside, a bowling green, tennis courts and various places with sun loungers to soak up the sun (yes even in November!) . The Wi-Fi is now free and very good. The staff are all generally very friendly and helpful. The cliental includes a mix of nationalities and are mostly of the older generation – this is reflected in the resort as a whole (at this time of the year at any rate). The fact that this is our fifth visit to this complex shows we must like it, BUT we would like it a whole lot more if they did something to improve the restaurant / food. Still my biggest complaint is the fact that the food is often not HOT enough – The restaurant is self-service and I think they prepare the food for when the restaurant opens at 18:30 - displaying it resting over trays of hot water and hoping it will still be warm at 22:00 when they close. It’s a shame, because I think the quality has improved since last year and I’m sure if we dined when they first open at 18:30 we would get hot food, but we liked to dine later (normally 20:00) and by this time the food is just about warm. We also felt that the restaurant staff were in a hurry to finish work and half expected the lights to be turned out at 21:30!Breakfast is still as bad as ever – I guess everybody wants to eat at the same time, consequently the restaurant is very busy – it was always difficult finding a table, or at least a table that had been cleared. The coffee /tea machines were often empty /not working and I gave up trying to get an omelette cooked – the ‘egg man’ was too busy doing fried eggs! This year we could have booked all inclusive –so glad we didn’t – there are so many places within walking distance of the complex where you can get good cheap food and a drink at lunch time. They seem to be spending money refurbishing the complex, one of the other guests said they plan the do the Pablo next – let’s hope they also improve the restaurants. Not sure we will return next year – but I said that last year…
After a not so good stay in April we thought we'd give the hotel one more try...so glad we did...Our room was perfect, top floor pool view...weather was great..same old happy staff..no fighting for sun beds...food not as good as it used to be I feel...and not sure why your have to go all inclusive though?Torremolinas always feels like my second home...There's really nothing I can say bad about the place or the hotel..see you soon!!
Excellent stay. Loved our room. hotel is a great area just across the road from the beach. Great walks along the prom. Staff very helpful. Food and service well delivered. Main town just 10 mins walk with lots of little shops to browse in en route. Will be back
We again stayed at the Sol Don Marco. We where again not disappointed. The hotel was clean. The service was great. Special mention must go to the maid on the second floor Ana. She helps to make guest feel at home for the duration of there holiday.
