Boring hostel. Good for families and kids.

So this is an average hostel. There's nothing exceptional about it and there's nothing bad about it. The price is OK considering it's zurich, but only if you're traveling alone, if you're with a group airbnb is surely a better option. It's a bit far from the city center so you can tack on at least another 10 CHF daily to the rate because of this. And if you're planning on going out at night you'll have to buy a "supplemental night network" pass with the public transport system which is an extra 5 CHF so the savings of the other hostels plus their more fun atmospheres definitely make his hostel a less han ideal option if those are available. At the time of this review prices were 50CHF for this hostel and 40CHF for the ones in the city center.

Great hostel overall - I definitely recommend it!

I booked my stay at the hostel at the last minute (3 days before arrival & over Easter) and was elated with the value for money (less than 100CHF for two nights incl. breakfast)!I was in a four-bed room (2 bunk beds). The room was clean and well set up - there are two parts that can be shut off from one another by a door. This means that if anyone is leaving early or arriving late, you won't necessarily be disturbed by the sound of the lockers being opened or of the tap in the basin. The beds were comfortable and there is a reading lamp and a socket for each bed. The showers and toilets were impeccable when I arrived and only got a little messy when a large group arrived, which is kind of expected. The breakfast was great: they have a wide selection of cereal, breads and sweet/savoury extras, as well as good coffee!I had an evening mean both nights I was there, which cost either 11CHF for just the main meal or 20CHF for a multi-course menu (soup, salad, main meal, dessert, 50cl drink). Taking that into consideration, the price wasn't too bad, although it's a shame you can't choose between a main and one other option, rather than having a "all or nothing" system, as I couldn't finish all of my food on both occasions! The staff were also great, really personable and friendly - they really made me feel at home! The location itself was also great, right bang next to a bus stop and very close to the next tram and train stations! You can get into the city centre within 30 minutes. All in all, I had a great stay at the hostel - it's only a shame the weather wasn't better, in order to make the most of the city over the Easter weekend!

Ok

I looked forward to staying here but it felt like a modified hotel. There was little to no atmosphere; everyone kept to themselves and considering it's a bit a ways from the city center (even tho there's public transportation close by) I think I would've preferred the other two options that are closer to the city Internet and wifi made the stay great but I think I had other options to chose from

Not too bad

It is not a bad hostel with clean beds, rooms and toilets, however, I felt the whole time that the hostel was trying to make money, it's 5 Francs to use a locker (I think each time you open it.) Breakfast was provided but pretty poor.

Swiss heaven

The youth hostel is simply amazing with excellent facilities. The rooms are clean and so are the bathrooms and toilets. Breakfast is also good but can get repetitive if you are staying for many days. The hostel is easily accessible and has lot of board games to keep visitors busy. Overall a very nice and lively place to stay in !!
