Senator Hotel Zurich
- What's Included
As an alternative to expensive hotels in Zurich, this youth hostel is a really valid one! Firstly, it is spotlessly clean everywhere, from the dormitories to the bathroom and the dining area, you cannot get it cleaner! Secondly, it provides a very good breakfast (the coffee is much better than in many hotels I have been to!!), including a selection of ham, salami and cheese for Westerners or steamed rice and Miso soup for those with an oriental appetite. Thirdly, it is really quiet, being located on a very quiet street and, therefore, sleeping with the open window will nto disturb your sleep in the slightest. I have stayed in a four-bed dormitory and in the process met some interesting room-mates from Iran and the USA. The only word of advice: ydo not forget to bring your own towel and soap, shampoo, etc. as it is not provided and you have to pay for it, if you need to rent or buy these products at the youth hostel. Also, you will need a 2 Swiss Franc coin as a deposit to operate the lockers in the room. As I did not have this coint, one of the staff at the reception were very friendly and lend it to me from his own pocket until my departure, based entirely on trust. Nice little gesture! Location-wise, the hostel is just 20 minute away by bus/tram from the Bahnhofstrasse, so perfect.
20mins from the central station. Good property. Well kept and clean. Little expensive for the amenities provided. They offer free breakfast and wifi. Have a free locker for use too available with 5chf refundable deposit.
Not close to the city center by any means, but clean and good facilities. For a 4-person mixed dorm, there are two bunk beds/four beds with clean linens and a large window that you can open/close for air. There is also a small side area with a sink and lockers for your belongings. Bathroom with three showers is a few steps away, just down the hall. Large ground floor with lots of tables for socializing or studying/work. Was not able to take advantage of the free breakfast, but apparently it had a decent offering. Free Wifi available that works pretty well. One thing that was really weird - for towel rental, it costs 2 CHF, but they make you give them your passport until you bring it back..? That was super odd and uncomfortable, you'd think that they would take the franc as a deposit in case something happened to the towel, not your passport.Overall a good hostel, but if you want to be closer to the city center, stay elsewhere. It was a 20-25 minute walk from a residential area to the city, not fun if the weather is bad.
Past I have a very good experience in youth hostels, but in Zurich I will not recommend anyone to book this place. Not cooperative. Zero customers service. After travelling so long ,they even can't manage to give you room to fresh,so that you can change yourself. Completely shocked. Check out time 10am and they cannot give you room at 12 pm.Please check before you book this place.
Switzerland is expensive country obey there its a best hostel in budget we stay one nightNice bed clean and well manage Breakfast is good with lots of choice provide locker after check out without any cost staff are helpful give clear information but little outside of city center.get local train bus easily to hostel
