Currency: US dollars is the official currency. Traveler's cheques, which can be cashed at local banks, and most credit cards are accepted. ATM's are banks are widely available as well.

Climate: The average temperature ranges between 85 and 90 degrees (29-32 degrees celsius) from June to October, sometimes reaching the mid 90's (35 degrees celsius), especially in the late summer months.

Electricity: Same as Canada and the U.S.

Documents: Visitors from Canada will only need to show proof of citizenship: either a valid passport, or an expired passport no more than five years, or an original birth certificate and official photo identification, such as a driver's license. Note: Some hotels require credit card imprint upon check-in for any incidental charges. Hotel check-in is typically between 3pm and 4pm. If your flight arrives early, it is a good idea to pack essential items in your carry-on luggage (i.e. bathing suit, suntan lotion, medications, etc.), so you do not miss any valuable vacation time.
