Ocean Club West
- What's Included
OverviewTwo resorts in one, play at both! Right on Grace Bay Beach with a free-form pool at both hotels. Self-catering apartment-style units and up to 2 bedrooms, great for families.
Location: Directly on Grace Bay Beach, 20 min drive from the airport. Golf course nearby .
We stayed in 2 bedroom delux condo on beach and it was outstanding!! The view was great with a large spacious balcony (screened in!). The condo was in great condition and full functional kitchen allowed for many fun meals ( community grill by pool also a great plus!). The location of Ocean Club West is perfect being walking distance to grocery store, shops, restaurants, water activities and right in middle of grace bay resorts. Access to both Ocean Club resorts also wonderful. The staff were professional and friendly and the on site restaurant Soldana was delicious. This will definitely be our family go to place to stay in Turks and Caicos.
This is our 14th trip to OCW. The location is outstanding. Beach is best in world. This isn't where you will find the fanciest linens and designer furniture. OCW is a well equipped, simple resort. It has everything you want, but nothing over the top extravagant. Best value in TCI. The staff is always accommodating. Plenty of space and chairs/umbrellas on the beach-unlike some places in TCI. No rental car required here. Ez walk to gourmet grocery-bell hop has trolley to help with food carry, shopping, and many quality restaurants. We eat breakfast, most lunches, and snacks from food from grocery and then dine out in the evenings 90% of the time. Works perfect for us. We don't come to TCI to stay in extravagantly decorated rooms...we come for the beach and water. OCW gives you everything you want, simply.
Always enjoy staying at Ocean Club West, We have stayed several times! The restaurant has been updated with a new menu. The food is so much better! The beach in my opinion is one of the best. The pool is always clean and fun!
Just got back from a fantastic 7-night stay at this property. This was our first visit to Provo, and now that we have a sense of the layout of the island, I'm so happy we selected this resort. PROS: --Location! Cabs in Provo are crazy expensive. Think $32 per couple round trip to get to a restaurant that's 2 miles away, cash only, and they never seem to have change so you end up paying $40 with tip. This hotel is within walking distance of some of the best restaurants on Grace Bay: Coco Bistro (go!), Caicos Cafe, Crackpot Kitchen, and so many more. You can also walk to the shops. That was key, and I'm so happy we chose to stay here . . . even over the other Ocean Club property, where things would not have been walkable (although they do have a shuttle to OCW). The restaurant at OCW is also very good and we ate dinner and lunch there. --You can also walk to the grocery store, and the front desk has grocery carts you can borrow to bring things back. Getting groceries (and alcohol) is key if you want to save a little money. --We reserved the lowest level of room -- the junior suite -- and it was very nice and plenty spacious. The mattress was a little worn in, but fine. Huge porch. Our friends got a partial view suite, and it was huge with a full kitchen with island and a full living room. Next time I would pay a bit more for that option. --We obviously came during a slow week, because we were practically the only people at the pool and never had trouble finding a spot. That said, there don't seem to be very many pool chairs for the number of rooms on the property. I imagine it's hard to find one during high season. The beach has plenty, though. --The hotel has some nice freebies like stand up paddleboards, kayaks, bikes, coffee in the lobby, tennis courts, and a nice fitness center. Plenty of beach towels, too. --The bartenders at the beach bar -- especially Desmond -- were great to hang out with and made the afternoons fun. There's also a very cool pop-up bar on the beach about a 200 yard walk down toward the other Ocean Club. --The staff was very friendly and helpful. They arranged outings for us (definitely check out the Caicos Dream Tour snorkel charter), called cabs, answered questions about the island, etc. FYI: I don't really have any cons, but just a few notes: --I'd say overall this property is a bit well-worn, and could use some updating. The landscaping is beautiful, but the lobby, beach furniture, etc are quite dated. Just don't expect the Four Seasons, and you won't be disappointed. --Don't expect a great wifi connection. It works best by the pool. --This definitely seems to be a family resort, so if you are looking to avoid kids you might want to look elsewhere. Overall great stay -- would return!
Perfect Stay at Ocean Club West 08/21 - 27/ 2017This is our sixth visit to Provo, Turks and Caicos and our second visit to OCW. We requested and paid extra for the two bedroom Beach Front Suite and it was again well worth it. True two Bedroom (no loft suite). The suite was large enough for myself, husband, daughter, son-in-law and nine year old grandson. It had a screened in porch with lounge chairs and extra table and chairs. The outside patio also had two lounge chairs and two hammock areas. It had a full kitchen. Full bathrooms in each bedroom and hallway powder room. One king and two twin beds, made into a queen size on request. Washer and dryer. (No laundry to do when we arrived home!) We had a short walk to the eating, bar areas, the pool and beautiful crystal clear ocean and white powder sands. There were plenty of umbrellas and lounge chair set-ups. Hello Mario and staff. The staff was friendly. Condo was cleaned and beds made up daily in a timely manner.Bar staff and table service were wonderful. A BIG HELLO to Carolena, Desmond, and Peter from, Barbara, Wendy and family. Too many names to remember all of you. The reception area was also very attentive. To our surprise a bottle of white wine was sent to our condo, as we were returning guests. We thank you for being so thoughtful.Solana the on site restaurant was very good. It not only offered a wide verity of food, it also had a Sushi/ Hibachi Bar. Loved it. We chose the OCW as it was centrally located to a few restaurants and the Local Supermarket. Also this beach area on Grace Bay is just beautiful. Two minor complaints: The second bedroom did not get the full effect of the air-conditioning. Could be either a problem with A/C or as I believe because of the jalousie windows used in this room. They really do not seal out the heat. Window treatments in this room would help keep the heat out and save on the A/C cost. The entrance to the three foot section of the pool, should have a handrail. Seniors and young children had difficulty getting in and out. There is another walk in entrance in the five foot deep section of the pool with a handrail. Looking forward to returning next year. Love the people and the beautiful Island. To management and the staff stay safe and keep up the good work.Barbara, Wendy and family.
