You will not be disappointed

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. Rooms are clean. Grounds are immaculately maintained. We paid extra for an ocean view room (well worth it). When we checked into our room, we found that we were upgraded from studio to a one bedroom for no extra charge but with a very poor view of the ocean. We requested a room with a better ocean view, they happily moved us to a studio with a great view. Amazing beach location. All non-motorized water activities are free, including the catamaran!! So much fun

Vacation

We were there for 6 days a very beautiful resort love everything about it. Just remember this island is very expensive. But beautiful everything has a service fee and there tax is 12 %. Not all inclusive so every meal for the both of us was around 100.00 US.

Small resort, beautiful beach.

Royal West Indies Resort is a smaller size resort, with all condo style suites. A full kitchen allows you to stock the fridge, and prepare as many meals as you desire. There is a grocery store close by via rental car or taxi. The rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable. They have either garden views or ocean views. You need to request a 2d or 3d floor room to see the ocean. Each room has a small washer/dryer. There are two very small pools and a jacuzzi pool on site, but with the beach steps away, we never used the pool. The beach location and easy beach access is the money shot here. The most beautiful beach Ive ever seen. White sand, clear water, green, aqua hues. Stunning. They have umbrellas and lounge chairs available, as well as paddle boards and snorkel gear, which is included. Because of the small nature of the resort, the beach was never crowded. We went in August when most schools are starting up so perhaps we missed the busy time. The staff is very nice and helpful. There are taxis available on a moments notice, or you can rent a car. Taxi service is per person, not per trip, so it can be pricey if you have more than 2 travellers. ($20 each from/to the airport.)The only downside is that the wifi, network connections were spoty throughout the resort. And the sole restaurant on premises was fair, not great. We would definitely return here again.

Great Stay!

We stayed in an ocean view 1 bedroom suite and it was perfect. Full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils... everything we needed. Unit also had washer and dryer so we went home with suitcases full of clean cloth.

We'll be back!

First time visiting July 31-August 7, 2017. We had a Studio-Ocean View room. Our view was breath-taking! It was great having a washer and dryer in the room along with microwave, toaster, fridge, and coffee pot with coffee supplied. We rode bikes to the grocery store the first morning and purchased breakfast-snack-lunch foods--not as expensive as I feared. We ate at restaurants for dinner and all were at least okay and some were excellent. The bikes were a bit rough--next time we'll take a taxi ($5 each, one way). Pelican Bay restaurant on the resort was okay, but our least favorite and service there was uninspired. My favorite was Fresh Catch in Saltmill shopping plaza. was my favorite. My wife's fave was Coco Bistro--it was very good but a bit more expensive than most and they sang Happy Birthday to me.. We also ate at Mango Reef, (taxi $10 each, one way) and Opus--both very good. Our worst food experience was delivered pizza from "Pizza Pizza"--it arrived 40 minutes late, cost more than advertised and when we opened the pizza box , it was the wrong pizza! The casino near Royal West is a joke--nothing like USA casinos, at least we didn't waste much money there. I accidently left my backpack in the taxi coming to the Resort from the airport. I realized just as the taxi left. The front desk and another taxi driver were very helpful --called Donnie- our taxi driver and he came back with my backpack. Donnie saved our vacation--I had necessary medicine and cash in my backpack and was frankly distraught until it was all returned. I am a seasoned traveler and made a rookie error--but fortunately with good luck and good people --Donnie and the front desk folks our vacation was saved--and yes Donnie was handsomely tipped for his return with my backpack.. We have been to several resorts throughout the Caribbean--none had the quality of beach, water, service and comfort of this wonderful little resort. Even with relatively high prices at grocery store and restaurants we saved at least $800 over a typical "all-inclusive". We bought booze at the grocery, too and made our own drinks!Great beach, water, gardens, service, food, and accommodations. I seriously doubt if we'll vacation anywhere else...I know there are lots of "interesting" place to go--we've been to many of them and for just "getting away" from from our norm they all pale in comparison to Royal West Indies. This is a small resort, which perfectly suited me. I have some mobility issues and it was a short walk to pool, beach(< 2min) and lobby (~ 3min.).
