Amazing Relaxing Vacation

This was our first time visiting Turks and Caicos. This was a beautiful property with lush gardens, gorgeous beach (white sand and turquoise water), nice pools and sitting areas. We had a 1 bedroom condo and it was spotless and very well appointed. The Pelican Bay restaurant on site had great food and friendly service. We stayed in Building #6 which was near the quiet pool and in the centre of the property, near lobby and restaurant and a 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach. Daily happy hour was good as were the bicycles that you could ride into town. Everything was walking distance but we did rent a car for a couple of days to see the island. Lots of fun, lots to see and everyone was really friendly. No safety concerns anywhere. All staff at the hotel were great to deal with, friendly and helpful...especially Kendro , Francois, Eddy and all the girls working at the front desk. We visited many other hotels for our next trip and would definitely stay at the Royal West Indies when we return.

5 Year Wedding Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I visited the Royal West Indies Resort to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, we stayed from April 5th-April 9th, 2017. The resort (front desk) staff was very welcoming and helpful, Pelican Bay staff not so much. The room was clean as were the premises, hotel guests were also very friendly. My suggestions would be to add more amenities to the resort and staff to assist with, also complimentary breakfast would be nice since it's not all-inclusive and costly to eat at the Pelican. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, I would recommend going to the markets which were within walking distance to stock up on essentials.

Amazing Experience

Resort is amazing and the beach and water is absolutely gorgeous, but restaurant onsite is fairly pricey. Best to go to the local grocery store and bring groceries back to your suite. Also, taxis to go anywhere can be expensive too-if you're comfortable driving on the other side of the road, I'd recommend renting your own car-it'll be cheaper. Also, doing just about any type of excursion here will run you from a few hundred to a few thousand...

Very nice and comfortable with pretty grounds

Most hotels on Provo are either slightly garish (think Regent Seven Stars) or generic feeling condo hotels. The Royal West Indies is one of the original hotels on the island, and feels just a bit more like it belongs. Truth be told, nothing on this island is very Caribbean; one might as well be on the west coast of Florida. But Grace Bay is a beautiful stretch of beach, and if you want to enjoy a quick getaway, this hotel -- on the widest stretch of the beach -- is one of the nicest places to stay, by virtue of feeling just a bit more tropical and authentic. The overall feel is low-key, with lush gardens and two pretty pools. The rooms were very comfortable, and were done with a bit more feeling than similar condo resorts I've stayed in on the island. (No wicker furniture). Our room had everything one could need, including a small kitchen area and even a washing machine. I was particularly appreciative of the staff, who were all very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Again, one doesn't go to Provo for the Caribbean vibe that one would find on, say, Barbados or the British Virgin Islands, and the island can feel a bit souless. But if you need a hit of warm weather and some beautiful water, a few days in Provo can be enjoyable, and this would be a good, gentle place to base yourself.
