Seven Stars Resort
- What's Included
Though I wanted to write this review immediately, I opted to think through for a couple of weeks and assure I was writing without the bias of being upset over having to spend several HOURS of a cherished vacation attempting to check in to the ACTUAL ROOM we booked. IN July 2017, two couples and we traveled together and wanted to have the ability to unite in one location daily, so we each booked a room which was described as a 1 bedroom garden view with a king bedroom and a living area with sofa. Two of the couples were given a room which had in the 2nd room 2 single beds INSTEAD of the living area. We returned to the front desk and the front desk manager stated they did not have anymore of that room and we could get a room with same configuration for an extra $150/night for 3 nights since it was in a different location (so the difference was the view). We adamantly stated we wanted the ROOM WE BOOKED (and not any upgrade). Mind you, the hotel manager Bela wishes to confuse the matter and state we wanted an upgrade. I illustrated the picture and description of the room on several websites (Expedia, trip advisor, hotels.com) but more importantly their OWN WEBSITE. She stated she did not have that room. (THIS IS THE KEY) I HAVE TRAVELED OVER THE WORLD AND IF A ROOM YOU BOOKED IS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO THE HOTEL'S FAULT (as was the case here), you need to provide a room which Is comparable or a higher category. For us, Bela wanted us to stay with the room with 2 single beds which was not to the description of our reservations or PAY EXTRA for the actual room we booked but a pool or ocean view instead of garden. We did not care for the view but rather for the SPACE OF A LIVING AREA.A hotel manager that does not immediately attempt to correct the problem and by the way as quickly as possible (this interaction took approx. 2 1/2 hours back and forth) is a POOR representation upon the hotel. Though stated by Bela to be an upgrade, the room we accepted (since we felt our first day was ruined already and we were very tired of attempting to obtain what we had booked) was a hotel room (1 room with king bed and the bathroom) with pool view (as opposed to a room with king bed AND a SECOND room with sitting area) garden view. WE simply wanted the extra room for sitting described in OUR RESERVATION.(and had no preference for the view!) Interestingly enough, after the 2 1/2 hours the other couple was given the ACTUAL room with 1 king bed/I living area garden view which MIRACULOUSLY APPEARED (Why was this not given to one of us from the beginning)I am extremely disappointed in the manner in which the front desk and hotel manager Bela responded to a customer's concern and the obvious inexperience in solving a matter in a way that would allow you to enjoy your vacation as planned as quickly as possible. The people in charge of dealing with the customers are suppose to be an ambassador for their hotel but more importantly their country. How sad that this was our first encounter with the beautiful Turks and Caicos. IN the world of travel, more than ever we have choices. I hope customers can make educated choices by hearing from the experiences of others.
We stayed at Seven Stars for 10 days (late July-early August) in celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary. This was our first time to the island and we are thrilled with the choice. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had. The beach is absolutely exquisite and I have never seen ocean water so clear in my entire life. We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, etc. and the beach/ocean were second-to-none. The resort is in a fantastic location. We were all over the island going to various restaurants and so we got to see a lot of other hotels and honestly, I didn't see any others that compared to Seven Stars. Having the complimentary breakfast was great, since the island is so expensive. The omelets were great and there was a very nice selection each day...it was never the exact same. I really appreciated that there were plenty of beach and pool chairs available. We have been many places where you have to claim a char by 6 or 7am but that is not the case here. Chairs were available all day long. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed getting to know Lila, Erica, Djison, Beatrice and many others. We had lunch at The Deck most days - I do wish they had more options as the menu doesn't change and so I was a bit bored after a few days in. Each night we traveled to a different restaurant on the island for dinner - we had great experiences at so many including Cabana, Sharkbites, Somewhere Cafe and others. I would be very hard pressed to find anything to complain about, but if I had do, I would say that I wish the breakfast location and/or gym had a view of the ocean - neither did. We had a oceanfront junior suite and it was lovely...housekeeping was great each day. All in all we had an amazing trip and look forward to returning one day.
We had a lovely time at this resort. Please be aware that all taxes and tips are likely included in your room, cleaning and meals. So tips are warranted for outstanding services. The room cleanliness was outstanding with afternoon turn down service. The dishware we used every day was apparently washed by the house keeping staff and super clean!! There is a gourmet supermarket nearby (walking distance-2 blocks from the front gate) that is amazing and convenient if you do not want to dine out. They have a wonderful dessert assortment and precooked meals that are delicious! The grace beach is amazing as everyone says as a world destination beach. The deck food at the resort is great for lunch and they serve by the pool and on the beach. Great service on this resort beach was provided by Lali and Don. The breakfast buffet was amazing and likely the best on the Island with omelets made to order. The Manager Beatrice was outstanding and was very friendly and ensured all our needs were met with alacrity and celerity. Beatrice was the only staff member who acknowledged that we were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary, and surprised us with a delicious fruit platter with chocolate on the sides. We were very appreciative. As highly rated as this resort is, we would have expected a room upgrade to ocean view or a bottle of champagne as is typically provided by the large luxury hotel chain. We thoroughly utilized the Nespresso coffee maker in the room with the lovely teas. Demond and akeem were very helpful as our concierges. We can't say enough about the cleaning staff, very wonderful and attentive to our requests.
We stayed at Seven Stars the third week of July for a long weekend (Friday to Monday). We were not disappointed. We arrived and greeted with cold towels and rum punch. They took a little while to process us but that was because one couple was being difficult instead of just letting them show the the room. Being our first visit, we were given a tour of the grounds and everything explained - what is included and what is not and the cost if we wanted it. Our room was amazing, although we did not book a oceanfront we had a view of the island (parking lot) but it was fine. We sat on our balcony and enjoyed the breeze. On a clear day you can see straight to the other side of the island. There was more than enough room to spread out (2 baths, living room and two full closets). A small kitchenette - 2 burner electric stove, microwave, fridge with dishes and glasses. A small pantry closet to store anything you buy at the grocery store. The toiletries are from L'Occitane en Provence - make note - i did not use anything i took other than my Shampoo. The grocery store is a 5 minute or less walk from the resort - it is expensive by US standards but on par with the Caribbean for imported goods. It feels like you are in a grocery store in the US. We bought our own wine and rum to make drinks and snacks and it cost uf $98. A bottle of local rum, mojito mix, two bottles of wine - chips, cheeses, hummus, pita bread. The staff at the resort are great - they are helpful and friendly. The beach is beautiful, calm and clean and always has beach chairs available. The resort never felt crowded because it was not. On our last day we saw a dolphin, shark and barracuda in the shallows. You don't bother them they don't bother you. There is staff that will take you order for food and drinks they work hard and are very responsive. We did not use it because we felt the price was a little high - we preferred to make our own drinks and take them to the beach in our insulated cups. We dined at Seven our first night and it was amazing - we did the tasting menu and can't complain - it was wonderful.Highly recommend Seven Stars for the experience, quality, comfort and location. We will return with our kids.
Excellent place to stay in Provo. Very friendly staff! Lila and Javin were always pleasant and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Chantal and Beatrice, among many others, made breakfast at Seven especially cheery. Everyone from the front desk, to the room cleaners, to the grounds people were wonderful.Accommodations were fabulous and views were amazing. Our junior suite was everything we needed and beautiful as well! Complimentary breakfast buffet (food and setting) were wonderful. Didn't need anything else until dinner. Grounds were beautiful and deck and beach were perfect!I highly recommend this resort.
