AVOID THIS PLACE

Arrived on a night, receptionist half a sleep on the sofa, was given a room in the basement next to the breakfast room, the food was SHOCKING! It was suppose to be a continental breakfast, we were given stale bread and stale croissants with the option for jam/butter and then really cheap cornflakes, the milk looked like it was watered down and that's all the options we had. No meats/fruit or other choices of cereal, we could hear everyone having their breakfast and the place was run down and nothing like the pictures that they show on the booking.com website

Basic but clean and friendly

We stayed here with our three children for a few nights mid-week, and although the facilities are basic, the reception staff were unfailingly friendly, and all the facilities were functional. There was plenty of breakfast, and it was all very fresh. The rooms were cleaned daily. Brilliant for the price!

I had a nice 14 nights stay in Apollo hotel Bayswater , booked a single but was given double on the second floor I loved all the staffs , they were so nice to me that I never felt being there on my own whenever I visit London Apollo will be my first and last chance .

Do not stay here! Staff are rude! Rooms are filthy and full of bed bugs! AVOID AVOID!!!

Stayed at Apollo hotel sept2017 for two nights, trip was for my grandads 81st birthday. There were 4 of us including 2 elderly people with walking difficulties. Upon arrival we were aware we were too early to check in but hoped we could leave our luggage so we could enjoy a day of sightseeing without our bags. Lady on front desk(apparently manager) said we could, we filled in registration paper and paid in advance for two nights she told us to come back after two to collect key and our room was a large family room on ground floor. We came back later around 8pm, man on front desk gave us key to ground floor room. Upon arrival to the room people's luggage was in there, confused we went straight to front desk. Asked what was going on, explained giving the wrong key out is totally out of order as we could have taken those peoples things! We were given floor on 3rd floor as someone had cocked up and given our ground floor room to the wrong people. Upon arrival to second room we were horrified to see this room was even suggested double bed with a bunk bed for 2 elderly people and 2 fully grown adults. Straight downstairs to front desk asked if they suggested this room as a joke as how are we meant to stay in bunk beds. Were given attitude from a second male behind the desk who asked what was wrong with room on 3rd floor, clearly explained to him we have two elderly people with walking difficulties what does he think is wrong with that room, obvious you'd have thought! A room on the 4th floor was suggested, room filthy settled with it for the night as there was no other option and at 9pm with 2 elderly people finding another hotel wasn't doable. I went back down and explained to the two men that i wasn't happy our room had been given away and that this room was filthy, they told me there was no other rooms available. The following morning to our horror we found bedbugs crawling on one of the beds I put a few in a cup and took them straight down to reception. Reception staff didn't look surprised we had found them. I explained I wanted to speak to the manager was told she wasn't in till 10am. The gentleman offered us our room back on ground floor as other guests had checked out. Explained we wanted a refund for previous nights stay, said only manager could do it. Came back inconveniently at 1pm asked the manager what had happened yesterday for us to end up on 4th floor, she said staff gave out wrong key! She said cleaners never saw bed bugs, lies when we have pictures. Room with bed bugs is apparently out of service now. We stopped our last night in the ground floor room which was passable, what you expect for a budget hotel. I must stress yes I know this is a budget hotel and don't expect a lot for my money but I do believe general cleanliness. And bed bugs should not be in the rooms!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Staff have horrible stinking attitudes! Hotel is filthy dirty I wouldn't even let my dog sleep in there!! INFESTED with bed bugs!! I will not be staying ever again and will be putting a complaint in to my travel company!!

Great value for money, excellent central location.

Agree with everything the previous 2 reviewers say - this is not the Ritz but for £65 a night it wont be! it's clean and in a great central location right next to hyde park and close to several tube stations, what more do you need. the rooms are basic but have all that you need for a short stay if you are sightseeing in london. I've stayed here twice in the space of a few months after coming to london for events and it suits perfectly for that. Avoid the breakfast - old stale croissants and a bread roll, lukewarm orange juice and horrendous coffee, but it's so close to notting hill just go somewhere nice for brunch like we did!
