I used to stay in another hotel in London. I wanted to change things and book another place for our short 3-day stay in London. The hotel is located near a busy street, but the perks are that there is a lot going on and there arer a lot of stores and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Right in front of the hotel is a bus stop and around the corner there is a bus you can take that takes you directly to Oxford Street and Marble Arch or to St Pancras station. The staff is very friendly. We arrived around 9 30 am but they had a room available immediately for us, very convenient! Although the building looks a bit older the indoor interious has been updated. Cosy, modern chairs in the lobby and also a modern fresh decoration in the room. We stayed on the top floor and enjoyed that, although we were on the street side, when the windows were closed there wasn't that much noise. Besides, when you're in London, who's gonna complain about noise ;). The toilet and shower were in separate rooms, which comes in very handy. Also the complimentary coffee in the room is a plus! Unfortunately there was no manual available for the safe, so we had to figure that out ourselves. Also, use the toilet wasn't that simple, it seemed that for 'flushing' you had to pump the handle to get the water running :)The breakfast was basic, A wide range of hot food (eggs, sausages, hash browns,...) but i guess they can do better for the croissants. They were small and were a bit on the dry side. But on the other hand, my girlfriend liked their youghurt.Overall it's a good hotel for the price you pay. I have been in similar hotels that were pricier. So i surely would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
The Bedford Hotel is conveniently located for anybody on a theatre break, it is about a 15 minute walk to theatre town and 10 minute walk from Euston Station. My daughter and I stayed overnight, the outside of the hotel was being renovated, the lobby was bright and fresh, the restaurant and bar area lovely and modern. We arrived too early for check-in but the staff were happy to keep our luggage. After our day in London we checked in and went up to the room which was a twin room. It was clean, the bathroom and sink were separate from the toilet and I think it would have been better if the toilet and sink were together and maybe the shower by itself for more room, however the bed was very comfortable, the TV worked, there were beverage facilities, iron and hairdryer. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and was buffet style. The hotel were happy to keep our two suitcases for a nominal charge of 50p per case. Overall our stay was lovely, the downstairs is very modern, the corridors on the 6th floor need modernisation but the room was decorated to a modern neutral style. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the hotel does need updating and I wasn't keen on the bathroom set-up. I will definitely use this hotel again.
I have just returned from a three day break staying at the Bedford hotel. I was there to celebrate my 70th birthday. The hotel is very central, only had bed and breakfast which was really very good. Very obliging staff special thanks to Thomas who helped with the problem we had with the room safe and Aurora the dining room supervisor who welcomed everyone each morning with a cheery smile. If I go there again I would ask for room 328 again.
I returned to the Bedford for a couple of meetings at a nearby university. Although only for one night, my requested room at the (quiet) rear of the building was available despite an evening arrival. The room safe could not be closed as a helpful clown, the preceding occupant in the room, had left it with bolts locked open: my call for assistance swiftly received a response and I was given a helpful demonstration on using the facility. At breakfast, my request for decaffeinated coffee was addressed with its early arrival. Leaving luggage to await my collection was easily agreed. Bedford Hotel is a smoothly operating establishment (at least in the visitor's experience!), well located with excellent eating and travel availability - an affordable, helpful hotel indeed.
Amazing anf helpful staff at the reception , restaurant and all over they were really nice and anything we wanted they were there to help. The room was a bit old fashioned but it was fine . the location of the hotel is amazing ten minutes walk to Oxford street , a 2 minute walk to a little shopping center called the Brunswick and two underground stations also a few minutes walk . So for being for the first time in London and in the UK they made it much more better than I expected. Can't wait to visit again.
