- What's Included
I live in Covent Garden and work in Queen Square and recently enjoyed a quiet drink in this hotel's garden and have always been Impressed by the restaurant staff. Today a staff member Daniel changed all that. I took a friend over to have a quick look at the garden. She had a small dog on a leash. Before we had chance to step over the threshold an aggressive staff member called Daniel started shouting at saying that no dogs were allowed under any circumstances. When I was about to suggest I wait back with the dog while my friend took a look he bellowed over me: no dogs, I said no dogs under any circumstances whatsoever! I can't remember when last I was so badly spoken to I am a local through and theough
Stayed here with my mum in a standard twin for 2 nights. We requested a quiet room & were given a room at the top & back of the hotel facing the garden. The room was nice & spacious which made the trip even better. The bathroom had a bath and although we didn't use it, we would've made full use of this had we had more time. Room service is also available which is good to know, although we did not make use of this ourselves. All staff throughout our stay, from the reception staff, evening staff in the restaurant and breakfast staff were unbelievably friendly, always willing to help with any queries and have a general chit chat. There is always someone on reception which is a reassurance. The exterior and hallways of the hotel are a bit dated, but the hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment process and the rooms themselves are bright, spacious and modern. The rooms are not perfect with some features such as doors having a few scuffs on them, but this is not something that we considered to be an issue. My mum & I fully appreciated the all-you-can-eat buffet style of the breakfast and the variety of options available.Overall, we are extremely happy with our stay at this hotel and have already said we will be returning next year when we come to London again.
Great location in one of London's nicest districts, close to British Museum, Bloomsbury square and less than ten minutes walk from theatres. We asked for quiet twin at the back, which we got and this one was of the quietest hotels ever- quite something given it is bang in central London. Room was dated but clean, spacious and comfortable. The dining room is lovely with beautiful gardens. The staff at Breakfast were absolutely lovely- really smiley and helpful.
One of our regular London hotels. The refurb to the lounge / bar / garden looks very nice. The rooms are now looking a little "tired" and the corridors could do with some new carpet. However, the room was spotlessly clean, and comfortable.Breakfast buffet was OK, although the tea and coffee are worth avoiding, stick to juice.Great location for central London, Covent Garden only 10 mins walk, British museum round the corner.
The bed in the room was hard as a stone and I didn't get any sleep during my stay. I complaint at the reception and was only offered some dirty blanckets from the housekeeping. The bed should be thrown out because it is not acceptable to give any guest such a stonebed. There was no top of the bed and the springs aren't nice to sleep upon. Might be this hotel has bought beds for fakirs who are used to lay on seams. But I'm not a fakir and my back was seriously hurting when I got out of the stonebed. The room was very hot and the singleframed window could't be attached to anything so it kept slamming. From the garden downstairs there was a hell of a noise all night so it was like being in a pub. The toilet didn't flush well. They charge 50 pence per luggage you want to be stored after check out. This should be a service not a charge. All together I wouldn't recommend this hotel to future guest.
