This hotel is in an excellent location, with a tube station about 10 minutes away. The room was spotless, the shower hot and powerful, the breakfast delicious( plenty of it!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will stay again.
The Bedford offers rooms for under £100 per night in a very good location. I was upgraded from a single to a twin and this turned out to be very large by London standards. However the rooms face onto a busy road, with poor soundproofing so this is not a good option for light sleepers. And everything about mine - from the harsh lighting to the kettle that only worked if I kept my finger on the switch - felt very cheap.
Room was ok, bathroom very small but did have a bath and a shower (over the bath) which is good these days, food good on the whole but not as hot as it could be and had to leave one meal but my complaint about this was handled well by the staff. All staff were friendly and obliging and had obviously had customer service training. I stayed here as it was in the vicinity of another hotel venue where I was going on a training course which was more expensive to stay. It is walkable from Euston Station or Holborn tube station.
I have to be honest this hotel wasn't one I would have chosen, but I am prepared to admit I was wrong, basic room, but everything you need, the bloom and willow restaurant, lovely food , (we got a free evening meal the first night), delicious food, lovely staff in restaurant and hotel, I personally think this hotel is doing itself an injustice calling it a budget hotel, it has everything you need without the frills , but first class staff and service,
The location is certainly an attraction - the British Museum a short walk away and the the 98 bus from Bedford Place, around the corner, takes you to Oxford Street and a very short walk away is one of the best squares in London: Queen Square. The restaurant/bar leads out to a pleasant city garden. Have stayed here a few times - for the convenience, but there's no frequent- stayer discount with the Imperial range of hotels, so may not return. (Even a small concession would create goodwill.) My single room (£97, including breakfast) was a bit small and the windows needed some maintenance. The shower was adequate; had to ask for an extra pillow - which arrived quickly. The information provided didn't include details about the heating - fiddled with the radiators for a bit, then gave up. No proper spoons on the tray. So, fine for a short stay, but a bit overpriced.
