Best Western The Cromwell

Arrived for a one night stay to go to the Royal Albert Hall. Nice looking building, great location, 5 minutes walk from Gloucester Road Tube. Checked in, went to the room and... Strewth, not enough room to swing the proverbial. Less than a foot between the bed end and the wall, in danger of concussion squeezing past the wall mounted TV. You actually had to move the bed in order to open and close the bathroom door. Curtain hanging off, the valance looked like it hadn't been changed in months, full of scuff marks and grime. Oh and the bedside light had bare wires exposed, nice hazard there. Soap dispenser in the equally tiny shower room balanced on the soap dish as it had fallen off some time ago. Either my wife or I had to sit on the bed to allow the other past. All the space of a telephone box.. a double room? I think not. My wife is 5 foot 2 and when sitting on the bed, her feet could touch the walls all round. Breakfast ok though you had to squeeze between the tables it was so small. Staff friendly. Would I stay again? No chance, none whatsoever. Shabby, in need of renovation, only stay here if you have a fear of open spaces, do not stay here if you have a fear of confined spaces.... I have had far better experiences and far bigger rooms in a Travel Lodge...
Had a beautiful stay at the Best Western Cromwell. Good location for me and excellent service. Room was ok size and staff were helpful. will be back hopefully soon to London and would stay here again.
Rooms very small staff rushed at times although very pleasant.Breakfast very very poor. Room far too hot, no cutlery or plates, whole experience was a shambles . One member of staff on was not enough for amount of people. No milk on tables, no glasses for juice. We left without having breakfast.. The heat in the place is unbearable.Hotel is close to attractions and plenty busses going to city centre
Good Location, clean with friendly staff. Room was small but nothing too major for a London hotel. Breakfast was good although 1 cup of coffee was the only criticism. Couple of wee minor things in room could do with fixing but did not take away from the break.
Stayed for one night so didn't mind the room being a bit small. Was located at the back overlooking the gardens. Had to be re-roomed because the French windows to the balcony wouldn't open. Moved to room immediately above and was able to enjoy the early spring weather on the balcony. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was small but perfectly formed. The bath towels were a tad small and a flat loo seat would have been more comfortable to sit on but these are small quibbles for the price paid. Very quiet in the room and the only thing that disturbed us was the dawn chorus- not sure how many central London hotels that would apply to! Enjoyed a happy hour drink in the bar. The bar could be better - it is a pleasant room but the music could be better, I.e. Not Capital Radio! And perhaps slightly more subdued lighting. The breakfast was fine, not a bad selection of hot and cold items and decent coffee. Overall, a pleasant stay and all the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful.
