Best Western The Cromwell
- What's Included
We booked our room on Best Westerns web site as we heard you got better rooms than when you used a third party site...Our room was said to be a handicap room(which we didn't need) It had double door which would make it really difficult for a handicapped person. The bed was pushed up against the wall which meant someone had to crawl over the other person to get in and out of bed. The bathroom was set up for a handicapped person so no shelf to put any toiletry's on either in the shower or in the bathroom...I would not stay in this hotel again or recommend it was not a great value for the money..
I stayed here on recent business trip for four nights. Initially I didn't like my initial room as the main external door had a porch type area where the wardrobe and then bathroom door was and then another external door to the main bedroom area. The hotel were good and moved me to another room which was much better. The bed was comfortable and the room was quite small but most London rooms are. The gym was basic and had one running machine but the tv wasn't connected to this. I didn't use the dining facilities so cannot comment on those. It is in a good location for Gloucester Road tube station and a number of eating places around there. It is also a small walk to Earl's Court which has more eating places. I got on a cheap price less than £100 per night but not sure I would pay anymore than that.
This hotel is in a great location close to Gloucester Road tube. The room was compact with poor Air conditioning. I found the bed & pillows uncomfortable. The shower was good. Room had no external noise as we were at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good with the exception of the coffee - which was disgusting!
I have commented previously on the uninviting nature of this hotel but I am drawn in by its perfect location in the heart of my old neighbourhood, equidistant from several friends’ homes and just steps away from the Gloucester Road tube. So in mid-April I found myself once again booked into the Best Western Cromwell, resigned to the strong likelihood of another stay in a small uncomfortable room. Instead, my brother unexpectedly passed away and my 10-day trip to Europe was cancelled. The airline and every other hotel on my itinerary - including those booked on Priceline, as this was - extended their condolences and refunded my repayment, for which I remain profoundly grateful. The Best Western Cromwell did not, despite the intervention with the hotel manager of both Priceline and Best Western’s corporate customer services staff. The hotel was more concerned with pocketing my $400 than with helping a long-term customer cope with an unbearable personal tragedy. This very sour experience has ended my relationship with this hotel. I will never go back and would caution anyone thinking of staying there about the cold and uncaring nature of the hotel’s management.
We moved here last minute due to maintenance issues at the original place we reserved and we're given a room at noon which was wonderful. Receptionists though were rushed and not very friendly. Wifi was great, room very clean, though very tiny for 2 people, thankfully we had a balcony/terrace so we didn't feel very cramped. The shower is very small, I can't imagine a heavyset person move about the shower stall as I'm 5'2 130 lbs & hit my elbows a few times on the glass stall while showering. The location is good & closer to Heathrow / hop on hop off bus stop just a couple blocks away, lots of restaurants around. Full English breakfast was nice!
