Due to early morning flight travelled down the day before to avoid any mishaps etc. Room only but got a good deal. Basic room but sufficient for a overnight stay. Had evening meal and drinks good quality and not overpriced. Staff very pleasent and certainly would stay again. Bus pickup to terminal, £3
Lovely hotel, staff amazing and helpful , all very friendly and the hotel was nice and clean. Stayed with my disabled mom and the room met our needs in every way. Food is nice quality and good value for money. A perfect place to stay whilst in transit!
We arrived late evening without a reservation but we were lucky to find the room to suit our needs. The lady at the reception was very helpful with our reservation and she gave us the suitable room to accommodate an adult family of three. The room was big enough, had the Master bed and a sofa bed quite comfortable compared with similar ones in other Hotels. Bathroom and shower quite comfortable and everything worked OK.All the amenities also provided even coffee and coffee maker to make our stay enjoyable. The Hotel was also clean and well managed. Staff looked well trained and professional and helped us with every inquiry. We had not managed to have dinner at Hotel as it was late but breakfast being not complimentary costing GBP 8,50 per person ,it was not worth the money. They had a buffet with the usual breakfast items, English breakfast too but no eggs just omelette made with powder, bacon not tender and sausages and beans just OK. Machine Coffee without any taste.Parking was also provided costing 8 pounds for 24 hours stay that's quite reasonable.Overall a good night stay at a reasonable price. Quite handy if you like to get a plane from Gatwic Airport or leave your car in the parking and travel to central London by Gatwick Express.Bus to the Airport cost GBP 3 and there is a frequent service.
I must admit that i was a little worried about the negative reviews but need not worried.Uncharacteristically i booked without checking the TA reviews and when i checked after booking i "thought what have i done".We arrived on 17/03 for a weekend break,we received a warm welcome when we arrived and were given rooms on the ground floor, both my wife and i in one room and with our son in the next room.Rooms were clean and tidy, clean towels, kettle and cups all spotless.Yes the air con was a little temperamental in both rooms but it wasn't cold.Food was of a good standard breakfast was nice and was greeted with a smile and always asked how we slept.Evening meals were good i did have the inferno burger in which the burgers were a little dry and chard on the edges but it was edible as was the starters. The second night of staying we again ate at the hotel and opted for dinner and dessert this time, finished our mains and had a little wait for dessert but when it came the staff were very apologetic and went out of their way to make up for it.Every member of staff were extremely friendly and polite and i felt that if i had any problems i could approach staff without any ill feeling.Would i stay again mmm let me think YES ;~} .
No point suggesting Travelodge is anyone's idea of special - however, having stayed here a good few times around flights for work or pleasure, by booking fairly well in advance I've almost always found a better price than 99% of other hotels nearby...& generally all you're doing is looking for a bit of comfort & a decent sleep before/after a tiring journey. You get it here - & you can eat/drink on-site if so inclined. Just fine doing the job it sets out to do !
