On my booking it said there was a free shuttle to and from the airport, once arriving there was no such shuttle. My husband and I had to bay 10 Euros each way. Once arriving the receptionist told us our booking was pay on arrival being Canadian and trustworthy and just wanted to get to our room, we paid no questions. My husband checked his bank account online (after paying for the WIFI/common McDonalds gives free Wifi) it was already charged. When we told the receptionist this she explained to us that they didn't and if we had question to go online and contact the Customer Service number.. which she didn't provide. When I found it online the CSR told us they will be charging the card for 10 working days....The room was ok in size but the room stunk like B.O. and the shower wasn't very clean. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone.
If you are unlucky enough to have guests that get drunk in the hotel bar, expect to be kept awake all night with them running up and down corridors shouting, Expect to pay car parking I thought it was in the cost, nope £8.00 for the night.Aircon didn't work, spent the night burning up,Not a good stay at Gatwick Central
We stayed at the Gatwick Travelodge for a night before our holiday and one night when we returned. It is such good value for money and so handy to have the car park so you don't have to move your car whilst you are away and with airport busses every 15 minutes who could ask for more. Both stays we were in the separate building at the back and it was so quiet and we both had an amazing nights sleep! The rooms were both clean with everything you could need for a nights stay. The all you can eat breakfast at £8.25 is amazing value and just what we needed after a weeks all inclusive! English Full English, there is no comparison and the limitless coffee was brilliant for our long journey home.We will continue to use Gatwick Travelodge for our pre flight stays as for the price you pay you really couldn't do any better! Next time I am going to check out one of their super rooms!
The location is just over a mile from Gatwick airport trainstation but charges £3 per person for hotel transfer bus which is quite expensive for a mile or so per person however we did ask how much a taxi would be and that was £10 for the 1.2 mile journey. On arriving the Travelodge was clean well maintained the foyer had complimentary drinks you could make the staff were friendly and professional .Our room was modern clean and very functional with a comfy bed , hot drink making facilities and a amazing power shower perfect after travelling most of the day to get there . I cannot fault it .I stayed in a premier inn four weeks ago and it was terrible compared to this and I paid less for it .I'm well happy and will be staying there again next March when I travel from Gatwick airport again 😊👍
This hotel is excellent value for anyone who needs accommodation at Gatwick airport, I have used it many times, and would recommend it to anyone, it is readily accessible by buses from Gatwick airport, which run frequently..
