Perfect for our needs

I should start by saying we booked this through hotel tonight app, and we're lucky enough to get a 12th floor deluxe room at a reduced price. As a result was v impressed! Check in was fast and efficient, room was clean, lots of amenities in bathroom which is an h10 trademark (toothbrush, shaving kit, individual pack of tissues: these are not often provided without asking at reception). Very large bed, smooth hotel quality white linens. We didn't have breakfast, as we were heading straight out, but did enjoy the nespresso machine in our room. There are several convenience stores and supermarkets within minutes walk.Great location, can walk to Waterloo within about 7 minutes.Would recommend this hotel.

I really want to like this hotel - but the staff is making it hard to do

My husband and I stayed here for almost a week in October - and I really wanted to love it. On paper it sounds amazing - 4 stars, great location, nice rooms, restaurant, sky bar, it should be perfect. But the staff works over time to make it awkward - and the construction - while new - is clearly a problem. Let me explain. First - we were originally given a tiny room on the third floor directly over the kitchen with an adjoining door to the next room. There was a hole in the floor where something sharp must have dug into the linoleum that looks like wood - but the hole wasn't the problem. The fact that housekeeping clearly had never reported it is the problem. Plus, our location meant that the kitchen smells filled the room in the morning - not great. But the real problem was the paper thin walls. On our 3rd AM - we were woken to the sounds of the guest in the next room getting very ill for over a hour. Those are thin walls. When we complained, the initial response by the staff was to apologize. No offer to make things better - just a 'we're sorry'. I was pretty upset. We'd just spent an hour listening to some one vomit, and the staff can think of nothing to say. But then the manager heard about the problem - and sent us a nice note - offering an upgrade to a higher floor without an adjoining door. We accepted with glee - and immediately ran into another customer service issue. They wanted us to go to our room, pack our bags, and go to the 8th floor. Once there, one of us was to stay with the bags while the other person rode the elevator down with the old keys. We clearly could not be trusted with two sets of keys. Fortunately another staff member overheard the first staff member and corrected the instructions. Now we were told to go up stairs, pack our bags and then call them. He would come up and escort us to the new room. Much nicer. The new room is a bit larger - but more importantly, the noise and smell issues seems to have been solved. But then there was the question of the Orange Juice. On the counter as you enter the hotel are pitchers of orange juice, cranberry juice and inexpensive champagne. My husband loved to have a quick drink of just the juice when we got back after a long day of sightseeing, and even better - a quick drink on our way out in the morning - but on the morning of the 4th day of our stay the gentleman at the desk informed him that this was only for incoming guests. Really? You restrict the clearly visible juice? Well - that's not 4 star is it? Overall - customer service here has been hit and miss - I'm greeted with a smile one morning - ignored the next. Sometimes there are people at the desk, sometimes not. There's no consistency. Housekeeping has similar issues - One evening I came back to find that housekeeping had made our bed - with a pillow stuck in the middle under the sheets. That's odd. And for a hotel with 4 stars - the number of towels is strictly limited. There are just 2 bath towels, 2 wash cloths, and 1 hand towel. Forget both of you showering on the same day and having to dry your hair. Bottom line - Despite the great location, and generally cute (but small) rooms - I'd find it a challenge to recommend this hotel. You'd be better served staying at one of the lower rated, but more consistent hotels nearby. If you do choose the H10 - be sure to insist on a higher floor, without an adjoining room.

Average dining

Stayed 4 nights on a luxury escapes deal , and the location to the city was fantastic , hotel is new and in good condition, rooms were good , a bit tight , but you are close to the city . Had a meal 1 night , included in the deal, and would not go back again , service was below average ,like they were all learning . We payed $1000 aud for the 4 nights and for that price may stay there again ..but would not go back to London again .....maybe that also influenced my low rating of the hotel

I stayed here for a part work, part leisure two days in London. This hotel was fantastic, i was given room 609, modern, clean, stylish, wonderful views and polite and helpful staff. I work in a 5 star country house hotel and can be awfully critical, however I cannot fault H10 at all. I was incredibly impressed with the gift of chocolates and water on arrival, complimentary champagne or soft drinks during check in. I never got to sample the food due to a hectic networking day but I will most definitely be back.
