Stopped here for 1 night before an early flight and it’s very nice and convenient hotel. It’s a pretty big hotel with lots of corridors with lots of room so you might have a bit of walking to do to get to your room. The room was a decent size, a comfy bed and a decent shower – pretty quiet too. There is a car park next door with fills up pretty quickly or you can park in the nearby short stay, although that option is pretty expensive. It’s easy to get to South Terminal from the hotel. A really good option before an early morning flight.
First time staying at this hotel!!! A beautiful and comfortable room!!! Before an early flight in the morning! Staff were wonderful in the executive lounge!!! Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice hotel
I was pleasantly surprised by the Hilton at the South Terminal as I stayed at the Hampton at the North Terminal last year and was not impressed. If you are a Hilton Honors member you get a fast track lane which is fantastic as there was quite a queue when I arrived to check in. I was able to park outside the hotel whilst I checked my bags in before parking my car in the short stay car park. I opted for a double deluxe room in the newly refurbished extension. It does mean you are a few minutes walk further away along seemingly never ending corridors but the rooms are fresh, nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. Good freestanding shower and additional shower in bath. We ate in Amy's restaurant which was very overpriced for what it was, my beetroot ravioli was little bland but my husbands fillet steak was amazing he said. The staff are lovely at this hotel and extremely polite and courteous. Drinks at the bar were generous, nice gins on offer which is my favourite tipple, served in large golf ball Spanish style goblets. Nice central atrium where the bar is. Would definitely stay again as convenient to the South Terminal airport and parking, either at Europarks which is directly next door or the short stay which is closer to the terminal and adjacent.
An overnight stay before a very early flight the next morning was meant to be an executive treat for my husband's birthday. The room was OK so long as you enjoy views of adjacent walls. It had the appeal of a kitchen appliance. Serviceable but you wouldn't look forward to using it. We looked forward to the evening canapés with free drinks and whilst they were 'OK' too they were spoilt by a ridiculous incident. The on-trend little flower pots filled with lentils and cheese were exactly that - flower pots with holes in the bottom. Cue dribbles of brown liquid through the holes......the fact they were there was not apparent until you either got to the bottom of the pot or your lap/handbag sported brown sludgy lumps. To be fair my bag was whisked away and wiped (good job it wasn't leather), lots of apologies and the remaining pots were removed immediately. It didn't charm us!The car collection was efficient and friendly. This is a hotel specifically designed as a place where you can have a comfortable bed overnight. We can't recommend it for more than that I'm afraid. My sense of what a Hilton hotel is was affronted.
If it was not so close to the terminal, I would not chose to stay here again. We decided on a night cap before going to our room. £19.50 for a glass of wine and a pint of Stella, which is the most expensive I have ever paid in similar hotels. The rooms were a little tired and looked as though they needed a good carpet clean. The view is across the car park and when flights start in the morning you can hear the planes a little.
