Hilton London Paddington
- What's Included
The hotel room was lovely, clean and with amazing view down towards Paddington Station skyline. Unfortunately have not scored highly on this occasion as was let down by reception experience. On checking in, there was a staff with word ‘trainee’ on her name badge, yet she was left on her own and no one came to help or advise her when she could not handle my query. I mentioned to her that the wrong address was printed on my checking in form. Instead of helping to correct this, Her only offered response was that this is the address ‘she has in the system’. There continued this back and forth exchange of me saying it was wrong address and the receptionist repeatedly stating that ‘that was what she had in the system’, so I gave up in the end. On checking out the next day, at the busiest time of the morning one would assume for checking out, there was only one person behind the reception desk and was a long time to wait with no one else seemingly coming to help. My message to the hotel is that they need to pay attention more to their customers needs at the reception desk
After reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor before we headed out on our trip, I was concerned about my choice of this hotel. I had booked it with miles a few months before our trip and the reviews at that time had been positive. But there were quite a few more recent reviews that led me to question my choice. No need to worry about it. It's an excellent hotel. The staff were courteous, room was clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is lovely. We had a deluxe double room. The pictures show two chairs and a nice amount of space. We were hoping for that - a place where two people could sit and a room that wouldn't feel too tight. While the room wasn't as spacious as we were hoping for, and didn't have two side chairs, it was quite comfortable and had enough space for the two of us.Bathroom was large and nicely decorated. We had internet and breakfast included in the rate. The internet worked fine. I thought the breakfast was excellent. Wide variety and plenty of it. The hotel isn't in the most interesting part of London, but it's convenient since you are right on a major tube stop. It's also an easy walk to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Nothing wrong with the neighborhood, but it's not what you'd call picturesque. Plenty of well-priced food options in the area. Also, it is up the block from a hospital but we were on the 3rd floor facing the street and while we heard the occasional ambulance, in general the room was very quiet.I think it can be an expensive hotel and I'm not sure I'd pay a premium price for it if other similar hotels were less expensive. But we were pleased with the location and the hotel itself and all things being equal, we'd book there again. We traveled in early October 2017.
The room was comfortable, the staff friendly and the location of the hotel is excellent with easy underground and rail links. We would definitely stay here again. This time it was a weekend away without the children, but I would happily stay here on business or with my children as well.
We've stayed here twice this year and really can't fault it. We are a bit annoyed when they would not let us cancel our stay for a family trip to see Ariana Grande in May. On our rescheduled stay we could not fault the hotel or the service. If the price is right we will definitely return
I stayed here for one night in a deluxe room (upgraded after I asked as a gold member) and this appeared a little inconvenient for the receptionist. Room was lovely but bath plug didn't close so couldn't make use of the bath (not always found it london hotels). Helpful having iron and ironing board and water and a nice addition of a coffee maker (liked this!). Breakfast was busy and not enough hosts at the desk as it took too long to be seated and when I asked for eggs Benedict was told you have to have the buffet unless you sit over there in the a la carte section. Buffet was ok. Good place for a hotel, nice rooms, staff 'prickly' and need t be more positive with customers.
