Hilton London Paddington
- What's Included
Having to visit U.K. on business, I like to take a day or two off to visit the vibrant city of London. The hotels are getting more expensive there, and not everyone is easy to get to via mass transportation and convenience, since the Underground is not always friendly to navigate when you have luggages. I like this hotel since it is strategically located within London (Zone 1 for the Underground). One can get to the airport via the Heathrow express, which is a convenient and economical option when you travel alone (versus hiring a car or taking the Underground). There are plenty of decent neighborhood restaurants if you want a quick bite. It is an excellent for those travelers like me that value convenience.
You have to be careful with this hotel, they advertise room features that does not exist in their rooms! For example they say they have air conditioning but physically its there in the room but does not work, during the summer when its hot outside (23c) and sunny, inside the room it will be 26c with the AC on! all the rooms are the same, i have changed rooms multiple times to check the AC and its the same thing. The same case with the heating, i stayed there previously at the winter and the heating from the same unite does not work properly but at least you can ask for another blanket to warm yourself, but during the summer there is pretty much nothing you can do. i have all this confirmed in emails - the hotel confirmed that they have an issue with the AC unit throughout the hotel. I spoke to the guest relations manager who offered to move me again and before i accepted i realized the room category they were moving into was a lower category! and they would not mind that!I spoke to the GM of the hotel who had no intention to speak to guests in a hospitality manners, to be honest Daniel ( the GM) was thinking that he is speaking to one of his employees and not a guest, his attitude was horrible, for a minute i thought i was the one taking the money for providing a service and not the other way around. I strongly advice anyone who needs an air conditioned room not to stay there. The location of the hotel is great, inside Paddington station which you can never go wrong with. the hotel is overpriced, you can chose better hotels who does not lie or cheat its guests for way cheaper room rates.
Pick the cheaper hotel up the road. This was a total let down. The room wasn't managed well - burned out lights and flooded bathroom from the AC (twice), lack of decent room service and attention. The staff are friendly, but customer service with regards to details is lacking. Don't ask for anything special.
Nice hotel right next door to Paddington station so perfect for a short visit to London if arriving from Heathrow (Paddington Express to the airport is only 15 minutes). Lots of nice restaurants close by and easily accessible to all other sites that London has to offer. Room was a good size and breakfast was very good (if a little busy at peak times). Staff were very friendly and helpful - even when it came to evacuating the building at 4am when the fire alarms went off!
The London Paddington Hilton was very convenient to the train station to the airport. In July it's very light out early and the drapes are not darkening drapes like in the states. Sun comes in. Clean. Very pricey.
