Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. Has everything you would need in a modern hotel if this size. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast is a huge selection of fresh food and makes a good start to the day. Good location for us as we like walking so lots to see within a few miles, will use again when next in London
3 nights. Took the breakfast offer of £12 per day. When i offered cash at reception they acted like i was putting them out. They prefer to take card on arrival.Morning 1-i was not down as paid for breakfast so had to plead my innocence whilst they checked with reception. 10 monutes later i was in. Breakfast was basic. Goid selection but cold.Morning 2- i was not down as paid for breakfast, waiter immediately told me to go to reception as he was acting like a bouncer in a nightclub. 10 min later i was in. Very dissapointedMorning 3- guess what.... i wasnt down as paid for breakfast. So i ate quickly and went to calm down in my room. A knock at my door and by the time my foot hit the floor off the bed the head housekeeper burst into my room!!! We starred at each other for a few moments and she announced that she had come to make sure my room had been cleaned correctly....my room had not been touched, glad i had been using my safe, very strange. I told reception who said they would investigate and get back to me. They did not.My key card failed 3 times, each time the receptionist blamed their colleagues!!!Was set to use the pool but did not fancy giving the hotel any more cash (£5 per visit) The room was ok but small and basicOn check out the girl took my room card and just starred at me...i starred back and she huffed and said have a nice day?!I managed to get hold of a duty manager who apologised and gave me his business card and offered reduced rate next time i visit.... i dont think i would visit again if they paid me!A really dissapointing stay, if you do visit, dont expect more than a jumped up travelodge with rude staff.
Had a two night stay in this hotel. I have never used Holiday Inn in the UK before but have in the USA. Pleasantly surprised by how nice it was and the area it is situated in. Check in was fine and room was a bit smaller than I expected. The bathroom was tiny and had an awful public toilet smell despite it appearing to be clean. The shampoo, soap etc were basic but I always bring my own anyway. The room overlooked the back of the hotel therefore road and street noise were limited. The corridors also appeared to be fairly quiet with guests being respectful when coming and going from rooms. We didn't have breakfast as it was £12 per person and we are small eaters in the morning. Instead we went to the Muffin Man tearoom just down the street and got two breakfasts for £12!The Starbucks in the lobby was great after a long day walking and sightseeing. The area around has quite a few restaurants and the tube is literally steps away. The hotel we normally stay in is perhaps a better standard of hotel but for the price we paid for Holiday Inn I can't complain. Planning another visit to London in the summer and may well book again if the price is right!
The whole experience was ok, our room was not ready on time, room was very small with hardly no space for storage. Breakfast was very nice. You are in prime location for the tube station right into central London. However after we had checked out and were waiting to leave for our transport me and my boyfriend were sat in a quiet corridor next to a charger in two chairs, I was sat quietly and he was on his phone. 20 minuets later a member of staff comes over and starts interrogating us saying this is not a place for sleeping, and have we checked in and what were we doing. Just because I wasn’t sat on my phone and was facing away from the light. With no where else to go what is the issue with sitting in a hotel quietly not harming anyone, after paying a large amount only to be treated in this way.
We booked as a top secret hotel with last minute.com so never paid tons which is what gets this a three star rating. Reception area nice, bright and big no problems checking in. Very overpriced Starbucks in foyer - £5.00 for a coke and water which was ridiculous. Room very small but clean - bed big but hard. We were unfortunately right by the lifts so occasionally heard the scraping of the shafts which was not ideal. A little disappointed you had to pay extra (£5pp) if you wanted to use the leisure facilities. Good location though - just off the high street - less than five minute walk to tube.
