Holiday Inn Oxford Circus
- What's Included
Came down for the weekend as a couple, didnt think what we paid was rediculous but is a tad pricey but your in the heart of london everything is . The room was tidy enough and the bed was comfy they offer soft and firm pillows with other options available from reception if required. The bathroom was a bit dated but clean with all the amenities you require. There is plenty of tv channels if you are that way inclined.Room includes..........HairdryerSafeTowelsIroning board (no iron although possibly available to rent from reception but unsure.) TvAirconTelephoneKettle with tea and coffee There is a bar in reception and the hotel offers breakfast at an additional cost. Location is perfect situated right behind debenhams on the busy oxford shopping street so perfect for anyone looking for a weekend of shopping and eating out with many quirky bars and restaurants close by. Sight seeing :About a 25minute walk to the main tourist locations of Buckingham palace , the houses of parliment, west minster abbey etc . We walked everywhere but the tube stations are on nearly every corner of required. Overall a good stay would stay again
Great stay, room was a bit small but was alright for us. The breakfast was great and the man who served us was great! Reception staff were also great and very welcoming. We got drinks from the bar and the barman was very polite and knew what he was doing! Would certainly return if needed to be in that area. Pool would be good.
Arrived late in the evening, tired. Executive, refurbished room requested. Room tired and shoddy, boiling hot, air conditioning not working, bathroom smells disgusting from the sink plug. None of the telephone numbers programmed into the phone work - even the emergency ones. The tv only has one channel. The pillows are thin and hard like a biscuit. Advised by reception (you have to go in person) air con is only activated in May. Unless on floor 6&7. I am on the 6th. Maintenance has to come and programme to work, guests can't do it themselves. Duty manager finally arrived, too tired to even be bothered to listen to the excuses. Stay in another hotel locally there are loads. This is not a good hotel. If this is the best you can do for your loyal brand members, it is a pretty poor show ...
We stayed here prior to going to a show in the west end for one night, the hotel was spotless our room was a good size as was the bathroom, the bed was comfortable and spotless linen, the staff very friendly the breakfast was good with a choice of full English or continental and plenty of fruit, the bar was cosy when we came back from the show, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Visited on a work trip and was very disappointed with the whole stay, with the exception of the location which I assume is how this hotel is still trading. My room cost in excess of £165 and I expected better.Trying to check in was so prolonged and difficult. Waited for almost an hour to check in (only 1 person in front of me) and when I eventually got to the front it was like watching a sloth check me in. Not good enough for a business hotel. My room was on the first floor and was relatively large but there were very bad points here.Door knob to bathroom hanging off so could not shut door properly. Door swung open so had to be wedged to during the night. Bed was uncomfortable and linen was scratchy. Tv was impossible to work quickly. Shower had some sort of ash in the bottom and behind the curtain was a red stain. Plugs were dirty. Room was hot but I did not dare try work the air con. Another point was that room towels could not be reached by someone shorter than average women's height as you have to climb into the bath to reach the top shelf for them - not suitable if you had mobility difficulties.Room was a little noisy with city noise but the hotel offers ear plugs. My colleagues room corridor smelt of smoking.Upon checkout I tried to speak to a manager and was disappointed there was not one available. However I was impressed that after completing an online review of my experience for IHG, I received an email addressing my customer service concerns but not my cleanliness concerns (sadly). Points for effort though.I did not have breakfast (£16) but colleagues did and seemed underwhelmed.
