OverviewThis modern hotel has been completely renovated and offers an exceptional location. London's main shopping sites, Oxford Street, Kensington, Sloane Street and Harrods, are all within easy access and the Earls Court Exhibition Centre is just a 5- minute walk. Most of the city's sights and the theatre district are only minutes away by tube. The hotel's 504 air-conditioned rooms are very comfortable and feature satellite TV and coffee/tea making facilities. A safety deposit box is available at reception. Enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant or unwind at the very popular English pub. You cannot beat this hotel in terms of value and location!
Location: In the Kensington area close to the Museum of Natural History and Harrods.
Subway: Earls Court or West Brompton
A great value hotel not too far from the main 'tourist' areas of London.Room was of a good size, comfortable bed, clean and modern. The whole hotel seemed very well maintained, clean and presentable.Would definitely stay again.
The hotel provides all the basic things to make your stay comfortable. The room is clean. There is a tv and kettle. The toilet is ok. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel, which is very convenient. Also, there is a nearby underground station. There is also another station 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Situated closer to West Brompton (overground rail) than Earls Court transport links this Ibis hotel was nonetheless a fairly solid economic/mid-range option and functioned as a reliable West London base. Although this occasion was just a one night stopover the hotel seemed adequately equipped for long-term as well as short-term stays (decent location, on-site parking, competitive rates). There was a spacious lobby/reception on the ground floor together with a small snack bar and information point (24 hour concierge) and a pub/restaurant on the first floor offering a wide range of snacks and meals. Rooms were fairly standard for a hotel of this type, a little dated perhaps but they certainly covered the bases. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great nights sleep, the linen and towels were of very good quality, the toiletries were decidedly average, the mini-bar was non-existent. The marble-tiled en-suite (with bath) was small but ideally equipped and there was more than adequate storage.Due to the building layout some rooms faced into other rooms, which was a little disconcerting (no net curtains so reduced privacy). Views of the London sky-line dominated by cranes and construction vehicles were generously thrown in. A small amount of ambient noise emanated from the corridors as well as from other rooms, however this wasn't disruptive. The TV reception was poor, though the WiFi connection was excellent (I was on the 10th floor - 10/12).Service in the bar/restaurant was a little slow when I went there for a drink - I actually had to ask for somebody to serve me. I didn't dine or breakfast in the hotel since there are various eating establishments on the nearby high street as well as in the general locality. All things considered, this hotel was reasonable value for money and afforded a more than decent mid-week stopover. I had no issues with it and would consider staying again.
The reason I stayed here was because I had an exam at the ILEC conference centre. However, another reason is the great location with access to both the Piccadilly line and District lines, making it an excellent place for both sightseeing as well as easily getting to and from Heathrow (less than an hour via the Piccadilly line to Earl's Court station). You can also get here by the District line to West Brompton station. The value is pretty good as most London hotels tend to be very expensive, and I found the Ibis hotel to be adequate in terms of comfort for the price. I booked via booking.com and paid 127 pounds for a twin room for 2 nights. They facilitated an early checkin at 11am for me; you have to request that at any time prior to checkin date.Rooms: comfortable enough, equipped with a TV, strong hairdryer for a hotel, kettle with Nescafe instant coffee and tea, free wifi, air conditioning which is great for summer but the heating is not great in winter. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The shower which was hand held (much better than the built in top-down ones) was great; strong and hot, easy to use. Drawback: In terms of toiletries, there is only a two in one soap and shampoo in a dispenser attached to the wall, so it's best bring your own things e.g. shower caps, lotions, conditioner etc. Service: Very good, checkin was easy and quick and the staff were very friendly. There is a nice lounge area and coffee shop in the entrance with tourist information. Breakfast: Excellent. It was a huge buffet with a range of hot dishes (fried, scrambled and boiled eggs, British breakfast items), continental (deli meats, cheeses, croissants, toast, cereals, muesli), yoghurt (both plain and fruit flavoured), fresh and tinned fruit, crumpets etc. Bar: Not much variety, but has the usual bar foods such as burgers, fish n' chips, steak, pizza, salads and sandwiches etc.Surrounding area: There are a good few restaurants and bars within 10 mins walk from the hotel. Simya (Korean) and a large number of Japanese restaurants populate the area. Pret, Cafe Nero, The Troubadour pub, 222 Vegan and the usual fast food chains such as Wagamama's and KFC are a few others. There is also a fitness centre nearby as the hotel does not have one.Positives: Good value for money, comfortable rooms, great location for sightseeing, easy access to Heathrow and central London via tube, nice breakfast, friendly staff, free wifi.Negatives: Lack of toiletries, poor heating in the room, lack of fitness facilities, mediocre bar food.
Stayed 2 nights at the Ibis hotel I received excellent service, The breakfast was very good, the best hotel breakfast buffet I've ever had, all fresh with a huge choice of everything and tasty.Quite room with.. good internet, TV , kettle, iron, bathroom towels soft, soap dispenser, Getting to was quite easy from London centre..took tube to West Brompton station, look left at exit you can see hotel sign, short walk.First day had a tube strike I had to take the number 74 bus from Marble Arch to Empress State Building stop right outside hotel.Recommend this hotel and I will use again
