Our Opinion
Nice location, a five minute walk to Hyde Park. 4 star facilities. Beautiful, bright rooms with large windows.
Situated in a quiet location, Kensington Close hotel is in the heart of Kensington, convenient to the prestigious shops of High Street, and only a five-minute walk to the tube. Close to Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace, it is an ideal choice for leisure and business guests. The Health Spa is a superb luxury health and fitness club available to guests which includes an 18-metre heated swimming pool, beauty treatments and gym.

Can't understand bad reviews

Greeted by a very pleasant Doorman who took our case to reception where a very polite professional team member checked us in.Our room was large and comfortable, the well equipped accessible bathroom/wet room was an added bonus. (Unfortunately it got rather too wet as the drain was a little slow, but not a huge issue)Excellent location just 5 minutes from the tube, excellent value for money

Impeccable service, great neighbourhood

I've stayed in this hotel several times over the years, the first time when it was called Kensington Close and wasn't even part of a hotel chain. This time I arrived in London in the morning, and was able to check in, even though it was only about 9:30. Such a blessing! Great service - people seemed to appear out of thin air to help one with a suitcase, directions, or whatever one might want or need. The rooms are small, but perfectly appointed and very clean. The neighbourhood has everything, and you're close to the Design Museum (worth a visit). Breakfast in the hotel is £20, but if you can't eat £20 worth of the excellent variety of morning sustenance, you can eat for half that at The Muffin Man one block away on Wrights Lane or any of the many cafés round about. We spent two late evenings in the bar: comfy seating, extensive drinks selection, and attentive service.

Great weekend great hotel

Came back from a long weekend in London stayed at this hotel and let me tell you it was great.A 10/15 minute bus ride from all the main attractions. The hotel is really lovely very spacious dining and bar area, the breakfast was great everything you could wish for with plenty of staff all of whom were very pleasant. The bed was huge and the room was spotless, towels changed every day if you wanted tea and coffee facilities also in the room.10 minute walk from the hotel at the top of the street on the right was Kensington gardens and palace and 10 minutes from the hotel on the left was Holland Park. What was great as well is the buses are every few minutes and wherever you go the fare is only £1.50 per trip.but be aware that the bus drivers do not accept money you have to either buy an Oyster card from the tube station ( 5 minute walk from hotel as well as the bus stops ) or you can use a contactless debit card. I would definitely recommend this hotel.give it a try you will not be disappointed. When I get chance to go back to London I will definitely be staying here.

ok stay, but spoiled at the last minute by check-out fiasco

We chose this hotel in conjunction with a visit to the Royal Albert Hall, for which the location is ideal, and somewhat cheaper than the hotels recommended by the RAH. It's very grand inside, and the doorman was particularly helpful when we arrived.The room was comfortable, but not exactly spacious. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet through the night. The bathroom was small but clean.Our stay was spoiled right at the last minute when I went to check out. Expecting to do nothing but hand over our keycards, the reception staff set about trying to charge me for one of our two rooms. Both rooms had been pre-paid months in advance, and it took quite a while before they managed to see this and accept it. I was moments short of calling Amex to intervene (since I had used Amex to pre-pay, and to make a £50 "deposit" for room service - which we didn't use).I'd like to think this is a stupid glitch with their booking system which seemed to allocate my paid (for both rooms) to only one of the rooms I had booked. This was enough to confuse it, and the reception staff too.I'd use the hotel again if we visit the RAH again. I don't mind a fight with reception staff bravely defending stupid software, but beware of this in case you book anything at all "tricky"!

Enjoyable Stay

Arrived early and room was not ready so left luggage and went for a walk along Kensington high street, which was only a two minute walk away.Stayed for 2 nights and although room was a little bit small it was well set out. Breakfast was good but the toaster too a long time and bread was not very brown when it was ready.I was out during the day and had room service which was very prompt and food was lovely.Staff where very friendly and helpful.
