We stayed at this hotel as part of our London visit. Plus points:Very well connected and walking distance from Gloucester Road stationFriendly staff at reception including the 2 sons of the ownerGood Indian Restaurant connected to the hotelNice breakfastValue for moneyMinus points:Rooms are very smallWaiters in restaurant are not very courteous
Friendly and attentive staff in a comfortable, clean hotel with a bar and restaurant available on site. Directly across the road from Gloucester Road tube station, so a Waitrose supermarket and any number of cafes and restaurants are immediately beside the hotel. I was initially a little worried about taking a room with a shared bathroom but this meant that I got a lovely room, in a great location at an affordable price. All facilities were kept spotless and a sink, and TV kettle was available in my room. I usually visit London about once a year and have stayed in a variety of places that all had something to recommend them however this has been the only place that has ticked enough of my boxes to merit a return trip. The Montana will be my first choice the next time I return to London. Often the highlight to my visit to London is a trip to the Royal Albert Hall and its not the easiest place for public transport however I am happy walking back to the Montana from the RAH after a concert. Also within walking distance of the Science Museum, the V+A and Hyde Park.
Quite a cute and authentic looking boutique hotel from the street. Fantastic location- right across the road from Gloucester station, so it was incredibly easy to get around London with access to major tube lines. Also a couple of restaurants around so easy to organise meals if you aren't interested in dining at the hotel. The negatives would be the size of the room- very small for London I thought but wasn't uncomfortable. The room had an air conditioner however this didn't seem to be effective as our room stayed very muggy and hot for the whole stay no matter what we set the A/C to. Lucky it was cooler weather for our stay!If you are a bit older, perhaps check with the hotel before booking- our room only had a shower over a high bath tub so it might be tricky to climb into with mobility issues. Was fine for us though.Clean enough room but a few spots of mould in the bathroom. Nothing to worry about.
We stayed in this hotel just for a weekend, for a short stay it is a really good deal, the price is good the hotel is quiet nice and the location is perfect: The reception were really kind and ready to help..I suggest you to take a room on the second floor: Avoid room 550 on the underground floor very noisy and just in front of the elevator and next to the staff room: But the hotel is just perfect for a weekend in London.
We stayed here for one night on our way home. The quad room was fine for a family of four and the in suite bathroom was fine. The location is great - near the train station and Kensington. The hotel is on a busy street so there is quite a bit of traffic noise and the rooms could use a refresh. For one night on our way home, it was fine though.
