Freundly staff (mostly also Spanish speaking) , comfortable room (clean and well equipped) , near to public transportation ( bus stop directly in front of the door, tube station 5 min walk) and nice breakfast. Would like to stay here again when in London.
I'll ignore the booking issues we had trying to get this hotel and just review the hotel itselfGreat location, minutes walk from Earls Court station and #74 bus outside the door so ideal base to explore London. Breakfast is full range of cold cuts, breads, juices, cereals etc. Unfortunately all breakfast items are cold, including all the things that are not supposed to be. Thought it was a once off but consistent across all days, the sausages, bacon, mushrooms and very sloppy scrambled eggs were cold. I don't mean tepid or not hot, I mean cold, gross
The term "good value for money" almost immediately comes to mind after one spends a few days at the NH Collection, an attractive and well-run hotel in London's desirable South Kensington district.Priced at just about 200 pounds per night, including a bountiful breakfast, the NH is a Spanish chain of hotels that appear to be both stylish in decor and reasonable in terms of price point (this writer enjoyed a few days' stay at the NH Porto last summer). The South Kensington location is in a busy, yet smart neighborhood, about a five minute walk from the Earl's Court Underground station. There are numerous chain restaurants in this area. If desired, one can make the easy stroll to Gloucester Road station and an area that has no shortage of restaurants. What's more, the NH hotel is situated a very doable walk from some wonderful London attractions, such as the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. As regards accommodation, this writer was treated to an upgrade, a two-floor suite that featured a spiral staircase. The suite was tidy and quite comfortable, and it came with a double bed, two flat screen televisions, two baths (one full, the other half), large desk, ample closet space, Nespresso coffee service, mini-bar, safe, air conditioning, and real drinking glasses (something of a lost art at this price point). Given that the room's location directly overlooked a busy street, an especially nice feature of the hotel is double panned windows, thus keeping out the din from the street below. The suite was well lit, practical, and the ample seating upstairs was particularly welcome after a long day of touring. A minor quibble: NH would do well to include small containers of milk or cream in the fridge which is a nice accompaniment to that Nespresso coffee. Moreover, the bath towels on offer were not as fluffy and absorbent as one would hope. It might be time for NH management to make an investment in this area of customer comfort.Another highlight of the NH Collection South Kensington is its breakfast. This seems to be a particular strength of the chain. Beyond the usual offerings, such as fresh fruit and veggies, fixings for a traditional English breakfast, numerous cereals and freshly baked breads, the NH cal also take special orders from its guests. However, the dining room, it must be said, has an appearance that is rather generic. On the plus side, however, this writer found the hotel's children's breakfast area to be most appealing as it featured kid-sized muffins, kinder-themed cutlery, plates, and bowls, and coloring book and crayons. What a savvy and charming way for NH to market its business to young families.A couple other features of the hotel is its public areas, including an inviting and attractive bar and dining area and a most welcoming garden which, while not fully utilized by this writer, appeared to provide a nice respite from the hectic downtown London scene.Lastly, this writer was pleased with the service on offer at the NH. Especially friendly and helpful was a young man who worked the front desk. While his name is elusive, he did sport a beard, and his service seems to represent the very best the NH chain has to offer, friendly and professional - a combination that is hard to beat.I
This 4 star hotel, the Victoria and Albert Museum is in a walking distant also near to some shops, The room was nice and clean, nothing to talk about it. At the bar it fails a little more staff. And the terrible is the location of the parking garage it is safe but every time you go out and in, you need someone to walk with you 2 blocks, so very problematic and expensive.
A typical Nh hotel, very clean, quite big and nicely furnished rooms (I was lucky to get an upgrade). Easy accessible; walking distance to Notting Hill. I have stayed at several London hotels before (also a lot more expensive ones) but this one is my favorite so far.
