Our OpinionThis hotel is connected to the Imperial hotel through a lounge area. Their Night & Day Pub has excellent fish & chips. Just across from Russell Square Park. No hair dryers at this hotel.
Stayed for four nights in a single room. Decent size room, bath small but clean, bed was okay. Spent my days out exploring, so I wasn't looking for or expecting much in a hotel room.Continental breakfast was awful - just toast, cereal and canned fruit. You can upgrade to a full breakfast for 5GBP, but instead, skip this and take a five minute walk to Café Russell in Russell Square Gardens for a good breakfast in a quaint spot in the middle of the park. I did have the 3 course pre-theatre dinner special in the hotel restaurant and this was a great meal at a fantastic price! Definitely recommend, especially before heading out to a show. Service was good, nothing extra special. Wifi was spotty at times. If you need to print, make sure you do so way ahead of time, as I had problems with trying to print a voucher and ended up missing a tour bus. Overall, it was a nice hotel with a good room for the price.
Stayed there for 6 nights. Hotel is huge and service formal and not personal. Breakfast is awful!!! Very close to Russel square tube, but not close to almost anywhere.Room was big and clean. The hotel is ok if you just need the bed and planning to stay out all day.
This hotel is value for money. It is good if you want a central location and dont want to spend all day in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Evening cavaray and breakfast were ok. Rooms extremely cleam and cleaned each morning. Some of the interior is looking dated. All in all would stay here again
First of all, know that this is a 3-star hotel in London. I would even rate this as 2.5-star compared to US hotels, along the same range as La Quinta or Comfort Inn. As such, don't expect brand name toiletries or luxury anything. Expect the room to be small, since this is London after all. What the hotel offer is value for your money at a convenient location on the Piccadilly underground line. So if you're travelling in and out of Heathrow airport, you're in luck as the Piccadilly line goes to Heathrow.I found the hotel's service to be average; they're not rude or indifferent, but they also didn't go out of their way to welcome us. The included breakfast was only for cold cereals and toasts. The hotel charged 5GBP extra per person for hot breakfast (sausage, eggs, bacon, potatoes). There's an electric kettle in the room for instant coffee / tea, but no in-room safe. They have restaurant and a bar onsite but we ate out all the time so can't comment on the food. One thing I really liked was the shower's really strong water pressure. It felt like a warm massage on your aching muscles after walking about London all day.Overall, if you want to save money on a London hotel and still want to stay at a convenient location within a short walking distance to a tube station, I would recommend this place. Just tone down your expectations - especially if you're coming from the US, and you should be fine.
We go to London every December for xmas shopping and seeing the sights. We always stay at The President everything about it is good we booked two nights and got an evening meal free at any of their hotels and the breakfast is faultless. Rooms are very good clean and well presented cannot fault it.
