Home 🏡

For the last four days of our trip. We returned to London. We finally arrived at our home in London, The Ritz. The bellmen said: "Young man welcome back home ! " when you stepped inside the grand hotel. The reception is amazing and gave us a detailed description of our home again . Inside our room, the kid got a ' VIK ' card 💳 which he can get free ice cream 🍦. He also got a backpack as a welcome gift 🎁. We went to have the afternoon tea. We regret having two plates of sandwiches. The breakfast 🍳 is delicious. The waiters are friendly and the chef cooks anything you want, no matter how hard it might be. We really enjoyed our trip to Ritz.

Birthday surprise

Arrived on Saturday afternoon as a complete surprise for my birthday. My wife had booked us in to a suite for the night, with dinner & dance included.Right at the beggining of our visit the quality of service was evident. The doorman quickly collected our luggage from the cab and directed us to reception. Reception staff were quick, polite and efficient. Check in was a simple affair and we were quickly escorted to our room, and what a room... the lounge was large and beautifully decorated, the bed large and comfirtable. The facilities were excellent and the bathroom superbly stocked... the extras, such as the 'personal' slippers, the bathrobes, added to the visit. The hotel had even provided a birthday cake (with candle & matches) and a personalised birthday card. The dinner in the main restaurant was booked for 8:00pm, so, cocktails in the bar srarted at 7:00pm (the staff asked if we would like a table reserved in the bar, as Saturday nights can be busy, good job we did, very busy. Some superb cocktails imbibed and dinner started, the 4 courses we all superb, served with style and panache. The lamb was the tenderest I've ever eaten. The wine list was the most comprehensive I've ever seen.More drinks in the bar after dinner before retiring to bed for a super nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent with such a massive selection available, and REAL tea!Expensive, but worth very penny.

Customer Care?

We have visited The Ritz for afternoon tea on several occasions as it is normally so good. However, our last visit was on the hottest day of the year with temperatures in the mid 30Cs. I'm not sure whether the AC was working, but it was extremely hot as the Palm Court has a glass roof and we were obviously drinking hot tea. Several gentlemen removed their jackets but were told pretty swiftly to put them back on. I understand dress codes, but my father is in his late 70s and had to endure two hours in stifling heat. Appearance before care? Hotels make their money by providing for their guests. We were left unimpressed.
