Sheraton Heathrow Hotel
- What's Included
Stayed here for a night before our early flight. Easy to get to and from the airport with the Heathrow Hoppa. Had food in the bar in the evening and we had excellent customer service from Tamara. Rooms lovely, clean and spacious. Ideal. Would stay again. Booked as a mystery hotel and had for half the price!
I was very impressed by the size and decor of my room (third floor). It was recently renovated with modern furnishings, however not all rooms may be renovated. As I was exiting the hotel, I walked past a number of room doors that were a different, outdated style. Room service was fine, but not nearly as varied a menu as the Skyline. Service at check-in was warm. My only complaint would be the door frame of the room - it looked like one good kick would break in the door. I was surprised that it seemed in such poor kip considering they seemed to have just replaced the doors.Top tip - while you can take the Hoppa bus for 5 quid to get there, you can also ride the free shuttle to the Thrifty Car Rental (it's adjacent to the Sheraton).
The room at this hotel is very comfortable and we wouldn't mind staying here again. The only limitations in the room were the minimal toiletries i.e bath soap in a tiny container enough for one person, and the lack of a mini bar. There was also no additional blankets or pillows in the cupboard. The most disappointing was the service in the restaurant. At lunch when I chose to work on my laptop, I was told by the waitress to stop and take a break. Although it may have been meant as a joke, I didn't appreciate this comment from a stranger who I expected to serve me, not to be concerned about what I was doing. Breakfast was even more disappointing. I chose to order off the menu and was told to choose my own seat. I then waited 10min for service and when it came, I had to wait another 10min for a spoon to stir my coffee and a bill with no pen. The waitress was very quick though to clear my plate when I hadn't finished. It's clear the staff are not well trained and lack professionalism.
I made a bad choice on this for a quick overnight stay while travelling to the US out of Europe. Staff were not well trained - poor directions to the room sent me the long way round. Later on I ordered a food delivery to the room - after it not did not arrive for 1.5 hours - turns out the delivery guy was in reception. The front desk claimed they called the room many times and no one was there (despite 2 of us being in the room). I told them then to send a maintenance guy to the room to check the phone as it did not ring once! The request was ignored - which leads me to suspect they didn't call the room or called the wrong room. Sadly they then told me it wasn't their problem as they do not "deal with outside food". Sheraton in the USA is very consistent - good value and pretty standard experience - this was way off the mark. Staff/training to be looked at here for alignment with the global brand. Shame about the service, as it's a nice price and good location.
The hotel has been renovated since I last there.. Room was clean but limited in space including the closet.Coffee provided in room is of a low quality..Ordered room service which was ok but greasy.. can’t judge the Restaurant but the bar has no atmosphere.. The coffee shop is like those in rundown train stations..
