Sheraton Heathrow Hotel
- What's Included
The hotel is very close to the airport and you can take a bus or grab a quick cab to get there. Check-in is fairly quick. I stayed here twice in the last couple months so I’ll do a combined review from my stays.ROOMS (3319 & 3318)The rooms are newly renovated and in good shape. The views out the windows aren’t spectacular. I can’t recall 3319 exactly but 3318 you get a view of a brick wall of another room. Being Platinum with Starwood and having my preference set as the room with the best available view, I have a hard time believing that is it.The rooms had a queen bed and 2 night stands, sofa couch, desk and chair, TV, closet with hangers, iron and board, mini fridge, a safe for valuables, clock, and a coffee maker. The thermostat worked decent.BATHROOMSThe bathrooms had a toilet, a sink (but not much countertop space for toiletries), stand-up shower only (no bathtub), and a hairdryer.GYMThy gym seems outdated. It offers a little variety but the dumbbells and pathetic. The view is of brick walls and the hotel office...It was mostly clean. There was 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 stationary bicycles, 1 stepper, pulldown machine, leg extension machine, leg curl machine, chest press machine, 2 benches, dumbbells only to 9 Kg, and exercise balls.BREAKFAST BUFFETThe breakfast buffet is decent. There are some options but I found the food to be bland. You can ask for a made to order omelet. They have scrambled eggs, back bacon (almost like ham, not your crispy bacon), hash browns (of which tasted like the sat in the warmer all day because they were dried out), sausage, breads/muffins/croissants, yogurt, cereal, and fruit.LOUNGEThe lounge is comfortable. The food selections in the evening were limited. They had a tomato dish, lamb kabob, vegetable pakora (type of vegan dish), chips, and whole fruit.OVERALLOverall the hotel is close to the airport. The room was nice because it was newly renovated, but the view was not good. I’m glad there is a gym but it could use a facelift and some added equipment (especially dumbbells). The breakfast was included because of having Platinum status, but I don’t think I’d pay for it out of pocket. The lounge was nice but the food options were minimal. I’d stay here again in hopes they continue to fix things up like thy have the rooms.
We stayed here for one night following our return to the UK from a 24hrs plus journey from Honolulu. Check was quick and easy and the staff at the check-in desk were professional, friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. When we entered the bar early evening time, there were no other guests in there but there was a member of staff behind the bar. Unfortunately, she disappeared as we got to the bar and we then waited 15minutes for her to return. She then had the gall to serve another gentleman before us who had come in after us, despite him telling her that we were first and he apologised to us, which he should not have needed to. The food arrived very quickly once we ordered but we did not enjoy it very much and the bar was generally lacking in atmosphere. The following morning they showed us to a table for breakfast and we asked if we could move to a different table. There were a few guests in there but plenty of room. We then had to wait a long time for somebody to bring tea and coffee - my wife had to go and find somebody to ask about them, and was told that they would be brought to our table, but we still had to wait. The food was good - nicely cooked despite being buffet-style. The staff in the breakfast room gave the impression of not wanting to be there - they stood around talking to each-other. When we checked out and were waiting for our taxi, they were having some repairs done to the main doors, which meant that everybody had to enter and leave through a smaller doorway through the small café. Unfortunately, that was also the smoking area and several people were smoking there which smelt awful. We heard other people complained about this but nothing was done. We have stayed here a few times in the past but this time was not so good and in future, we will stay at the Sheraton Skyline instead, where we have also stayed on many occasions, and is much better overall.
Stayed at the Sheraton LHR the night prior to flying out early to NY.Excellent standard of accomodation.Rooms very well spec'd. Clean and tidy.Bar area was very relaxing. Bit pricey, but not unexpected given that it is a captive audience.Free parking in the secure car park for the duration of our trip abroad. So this is quite a good thing to take into account. There is a shuttle bus to T5 which is about £5 per hear. However if there are 3-4 of you as in our case, then it's just as cheap if not cheaper to get a taxi. I would use the hotel again without question.
This hotel is conveniently located near the airport., we checked in as part of tour group. Entire stay was good, rooms are reasonably sized and spacious. Breakfast is good. Good for short stays with family.
