Sheraton Heathrow Hotel
- What's Included
Stayed here last weekend before a flight home and was really impressed by the hotel. Staff at check in and breakfast were really friendly. We booked a club room and it was newly renovated. You could still smell the paint which was fine once we opened the window. I actually only booked it as the Thrifty car rental was onsite and we were returning a car that day, but I would definitely stay here again in the future.
This hotel has recently been (actually ongoing) renovated as you can tell from the smell of the new Carpet. I like that smell. Everything was great in the room. The only issue was nowhere to put your bags ie one of those foldaway strap tables that will hold a bag at a height that you can access it. It takes about 20 minutes in the bus to get to Terminal 4. The SPG lounge is nice and the food and drinks in the evening were great, Staff were helpful and nice. This is a hotel for transiting in and or out of the Uk and it is perfect for its purpose. We would stay here again next time we transit.
We have stayed here a few times now and I will start with the good points:-Staff are pleasant and helpful-Curtains are black out curtains Which would be useful particularly if you need to get to sleep and it's still light because the room is made pitch black instantly. -beds are comfortable-Resteraunt food is okBad points:-if you are regular visitors to sheratons around the world, as we are, this is definately not up to their usual standard. Decor and rooms make it look much more of a budget hotel-Busy hotel and could sometimes have a long wait for check on and check out. it seems some airlines use this hotel when flights are delayed so sometimes you will get a huge queue of people with airline vouchers waiting to check in.-room cleanliness not up to Sheraton standard-no extras you would expect from a Sheraton standard room such as mini bar, robe, slippers etc-very noisy hotel. All room doors are very heavy fire doors which slam shut themselves, heard this all night long and it kept waking us up. Rooms not well insulated against noise. We could hear next door talking and their TVSo if you get a cheap deal for this hotel and you just need a bed for the night it's worth a stay but if you want a bit of luxury and quiet night this is not the place for you.
We booked our 13-day stay at Sheraton Heathrow on a Priceline discounted rate. However, due to booking our longtime SPG membership did not ensure free wifi but we were required to pay 5 GBP daily rate (discounted from the outrageous 15 GBP daily rate for non-SPG members!) The renovated room was clean, comfortable, but rather small. The rooms were missing the mini-bar refrigerators which had not yet been installed post-renovation. Staff were pleasant but inadequately trained, such as differing procedures reported by various reception staff on "green choice" vouchers and incoming package delivery, and hallway noise made by housekeepers. The restaurant served up well-prepared but overpriced meals, so for those on a budget might walk across the street for breakfast at Premier Inn or take a 10-minute walk down Bath Road to the Kings Arms pub. Rather than the 4.50 GPB for Hotel Hoppa, there is a free public bus 423 (from T5 stop 6) with a bus stop in front of the Premier Inn next to MacDonalds, a short walk across the road from Sheraton Heathrow.
Very well sound-proof rooms, overlooking the airport: did not hear a single takeoff or landing! Nice, spatious rooms, Hilton style and comfort. Good English breakfast. Nice and responsive staff. Enough (paid) parking space. Would stay there again.
