Sheraton Park Lane
- What's Included
During the first week of July, 2017, my husband and I made reservations for three nights at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. When we booked, we selected a room category a step ABOVE the CLASSIC room in order to hopefully have more space on this special occasion. . On the online reservation request, we mentioned the fact that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and that we hoped to have a large room. We stayed at this same hotel 31 years ago when we were last in London. Upon checking in we mentioned again that this was our 50th anniversary. We certainly had paid for an upgraded room as the total bill for three nights came to over $1900.00, just for the room. We were assigned a room on the first floor of guest rooms. While that did allow us to avoid the elevator and take the stairs, the room was quite small. It was nicely updated as I imagine all the rooms are now. The bathroom also was nicely updated. Still we did not feel we had gotten the room level for which we had paid, and certainly did not receive any special treatment. We enjoyed the location of the hotel and had a pleasant time exploring London after 31 years. We visited London this year on our anniversary after staying a few days with our son who is living outside of London. When we return next year, we will opt for another hotel simply because we felt that we overpaid, did not receive any acknowledgement of our special occasion, and did not get the room we paid for.
We chose to stay at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane because whe had stayed there 31 years ago, the last time we were in London. It was not a Sheraton then, just the Park Lane Hotel. The rooms have recently been updated and are very modern. Our room was not large, by any stretch of the imagination even though we had opted to pay more to Reserve a room in the level above the Classic. In my online reservation I mentioned this was for our 50th anniversary and that we would like a large room. When we checked in, I mentioned that again and was given a room on the first floor of rooms. The room was satisfactory but certainly not large. I feel it was a Classic room, not the upgraded one we paid for! Certainly we were given NO special treatment at all. We ended up paying $1900 for three nights, which seems rather exorbitant even for London.
We took our 81 year old mother here for afternoon tea, great service and food a really special occasion which made her birthday complete.Go for the traditional tea with champagne and a speciality tea
I came here with two friends for afternoon tea and it was a fantastic day! From the moment we stepped in we felt like royalty and the service was seamless. The menu caters to all, so if you have any dietary requirements, they have it covered for you. You get an array of sandwiches along with two scones and some cute little desserts for you to snack on. The presentation was amazing! I loved the attention to detail and the lovely little birdcage the food came in. I literally couldn't fault this place on anything, it was a perfect location for afternoon tea.
Stayed here for a conference in April. Great location and great hotel. It has that old charm and even the service is old school which can hardly be found these days.We had breakfast in a separate room and each morning with a different theme and selection. Thank you Sheraton Grand
