Sheraton Park Lane
- What's Included
We've been staying here for about 10 years. The refurbishment was a very nice addition to what previously a very nice property. Rooms are very comfortable, public areas very attractive. Staff is wonderful. Always helpful and wanting to make sure that you have a great visit. Can't wait to return!
I have always been a big fan of the Park Lane. It has an amazing location on Piccadilly overlooking the park and the rooms have always been nice sized. My only complaint with the hotel has been the need for a renovation. I had the pleasure to stay at the newly renovated Sheraton Grand Park Lane this weekend when I came to London to run the London Marathon and see some clients. The hotel renovation is extraordinary. Very tasteful but includes all the modern amenities and comforts one wants. I stayed in a beautiful suite (851) overlooking the park. The room was modern, sunny, comfortable and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable with an excellent mattress and very nice bed linens. The bathroom had been tastefully updated retaining much of the original character but having the modern amenities and Molton Brown bath products. It had both a shower and bathtub. The room had plenty of closets and had an excellent layout. The high end tv and other electronics (loaner iPhone 7) were all state of the art. I used the hotels Sheraton Club that serves a very nice breakfast buffet as well as tea and evening appetizers. The staff at the club were very helpful and welcoming and it is a nice place to relax during the day. The best thing about the Sheraton Grand is a friendly and outgoing staff. From the friendly desk clerks to a helpful bells staff and maids, everyone at the hotel very friendly and welcoming. I have stayed at many hotels in London and the Sheraton Grand is my new favorite. I can't wait to go back.
Great service in lovely art deco surroundings. The Palm court was not busy and we were served attentively by Daniele and Gabriella. Sandwiches were good and had interesting fillings. The scones were warm and the accompanying passion fruit curd absolutely delicious. Wish we could have eaten more.
I have stayed here a couple of times before and have always loved the location, so my husband & I decided to stay again when we visited London recently, to see what improvements the refurbishment had made. We were given a newly decorated Art Deco room which was lovely, and with access to the executive lounge for drinks & canapés we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Palm Court has a nice atmosphere and our experience of afternoon tea there was a total contrast to a previous reviewer. We were met and shown to our table straight away. Our waiter was very knowledgeable - both about the history of afternoon tea at Palm Court and also the afternoon tea itself. Everything was described beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Would definitely return to this hotel
Since it is a 5-star hotel, it is reasonable that we expect more. We traveled as a group of four. Since we share our baggage, we requested for adjoining or connecting rooms when booking the hotel. When we checked-in, we were informed that all the rooms that are capable of being inter-connected were occupied. We therefore asked if it would be possible to have closer rooms on the other day (as we were spending 4 nights at this hotel), but the front desk staff only gave us unhelpful advice - she recommended us upgrading ourselves to a suite or executive room by paying out of our own pockets! The rooms were clearly newly refurbished. The beds were comfortable. However, there is a serious problem regarding their housekeeping. Since the hotel does not provide toothpaste and toothbrush, we brought our own. However, our toothpaste was thrown away by the housekeeping staff. One day after returning from breakfast, I found that two housekeeping staff were sitting on my beds chatting merrily. They asked who I was and questioned why I did not bring any luggage (obviously, I am a hotel guest and I stay in that room! Otherwise, why would I have been able to tap a key card to enter the room?). I realised that they thought they have disposed of my personal belongings already without my prior permission! As we haven't had chance to check our personal belongings before checking-out, we weren't sure if there were still any other personal property that was disposed of but had yet to be remembered. This was a very horrible experience and definitely not something that we expected when staying at a reputable hotel group like Sheraton!Another thing about the housekeeping service is they are very inconsistent. They may replenish one towel in your room for one day and two towels in your room for another day. They never cleaned the glasses and cups inside our rooms. The location of the hotel is impeccable. It is within 5 to 8 minutes' walk to Green Park station, where you can take the Jubilee and Piccadilly line, You may also walk through Green Park to the Buckingham Palace. If you like shopping for clothes or confectionery, there are plenty of choices available nearby the hotel.
