Good location

This hotel is perfect if you just want a bed after you have been to the theatre. It has a great location for Covent Garden, the National Gallery and St Martins etc. We stayed in an executive king with a/c. When we checked in at 1pm the room was not ready. When we returned at 5:40 pm it was still not ready - to be fair we were given a complimentary drink whilst we waited. The room was an average size, was clean and had what you needed. It was not plush. The bathroom was adequate but I had to search for a second towel, which was in the cupboard. We had noisy guests next to us (party on until 1pm) which was a bit of a pain. The breakfast was very average and I wouldn't recommend it at the price it was (sticky tables, basic food, average service, very close tables.) When we were packing after breakfast Housekeeping knocked and entered our room before we had a chance to answer the door and the lady spoke not one word of English! Overall, for the price I wouldn't stay here again unless I got a really good deal.

Nightime building work don't stay there

My husband and I stayed for one night as a treat. We booked a cosy room and the reception staff at check in and concierge were lovely. Our room was fine apart from the view from the window which was on to the roof and absolutely covered with rubbish and scaffolding. During the night there was constant hammering and sawing so called down to reception who told me they would sort it. It continued all night and I was forced to put on some music and put on my headphones to try and get to sleep. I spoke to reception in the morning who weren't at all surprised and referred me on to a junior manager. She straight away said she would offer a 20% discount which we still haven't had. I told her this was unacceptable as she had admitted they knew the workmen were working through the night. She told me the duty manager would be in a 1pm and that he would contact me regarding my complaint. Surprise surprise no call and no refund. I am totally disgusted that they think it is acceptable to put guests through a night of sawing and banging and think this is okay. Don't stay here while he refurbishment is going on!!!!

Comfortable in a great location

I stayed one night in a double room during an unusually hot spell of weather. It wasn't the class of room that has air conditioning but I found the fan provided effective, plus I was able to open the window. I had requested a room away from the main road and it was clean, quiet, nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was fine although the shower (over bath) wasn't particularly powerful. The location of this hotel is fantastic, just opposite the Savoy Hotel (but at a fraction of the price!). I liked the large lobby area with seating and helpful staff and a concierge service. The only disappointing aspect for me was the breakfast which was not of the quality that one would expect for this class of hotel. If you have a room only deal I would suggest taking breakfast at one of the nearby cafes (e.g. Pret A Manger, Leon etc).

Claustrophobic rooms

For £199 per night, the room I got was no bigger than 12 ft x 18 ft. Other than being at a centralized location, I would not recommend this hotel. They do not have A/C and also the window opened only 2 inches and that to a brick wall!!

Perfect for our special visit

I arranged for two of my family to join me for a performance at The Royal Opera house and was able to book three single rooms for one night. We each were given a bottle of prosecco and some vouchers for the restaurant. The cost of the rooms was reasonable and the breakfast superb.
