I stayed overnight for work, which was booked by my work colleague so didn't know what to expect. Reception was ok and we were greeted by a nice gentleman but we were too early to check in. We returned at 10pm to find they had ran out of room cards so we had to be let in by the hotel guy and if we left the rooms we was advised to return to reception and he would let us back in our room, not ideal! My room was on the lower ground floor just off the breakfast room. The room itself looked 'ok' from a distance, but closer up wallpaper patches were pealing or missing, cobwebs were hanging in ceiling corners and the curtain pelmet was covered in dust. The shower ceiling had mould growing on as did parts of the shower cubicle. The view from my window was into a basement yard area that has been used as a dumping ground and in desperate need of some tlc. The bed was two single beds shoved together with an uncomfortable ridge down the middle where they met and two rather flat pillows were on offer. By 6.30am I was woken up by the breakfast preparation outside my room, lots of chatting and clonking of plates, cups, cutlery etc and didn't get back to sleep, not good if you are hoping for a bit of a lie in. The breakfast was alright but had to wait for a table to become free. All in all, terrible hotel where I will not be staying again, shame as the location is really good.
Spent 2 nights below average hotel the sofa bed was a nightmare the springs stuck in my sons back all night. Great location staff present however the hotel is run down and could do with a good clean the breakfast was ok however the breakfast room is very small and in the basement all the tables are very close together
After reading some of the reviews posted about this hotel, me and my partner were dreading our stay. However, upon arrival we found the receptionist to be very pleasant and our room to be clean and warm. It was very basic, and the features were worn and dated, however we paid very cheaply and that was what we expected. The bathroom was spotless, and shower very powerful, which was good. Breakfast was basic again, and for the vegetarian option you can expect egg and beans with toast. The location is brilliant! Really close to Goodge Street underground, and not too far from Tottenham Court Road underground - also a 12 minute walk from Euston. Overall you shouldn't expect luxury from this place, however it was clean and warm and in a fantastic location.
We booked this hotel as a cheap overnighter when visiting London for a theatre trip. I read a couple of the previous reviews on the way up to town and was dreading what we would find! But it was fine. It is conveniently located for the tube so easy to get in and out of town. We booked a family room, which had a king sized bed plus a single sofa bed for my teenage son. There was plenty of room even with the extra bed. The shower room was adequate with plenty of hot water. We all had a good night's sleep in a clean, warm, quiet room. The decor was a bit tired and the bathroom could do with re-tiling but everywhere was clean. The breakfast was well cooked and plentiful; they do a decent scrambled egg not rubbery like a lot of places. It was not a luxury hotel and I agree that 4 stars might be pushing it, but we did not pay luxury hotel prices!
Do not ever stay in this hotel.. It is not fit for humans to stay in.The walls were damp, the windows rattled. It was freezing with no heating. There were fittings missing everywhere. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE
