Great central location on oxford street near a tube. Breakfast rich though simple so y should check it before . The hotel is a bit crowded so at night rhere might be some noise . The staff was very helpful whenever we neede their help.
This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, and I have stayed in many as I am a tour manager/tour guide and I also set up people's tours for a living. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would particularly like to praise Davide and Amelia Velardo, the two managers, who went out of their way to help me. They were bright, efficient, speak myriad languages and were professionals in every sense. I was there with a huge group, for work and I found their help invaluable. I can't recommend the place enough.
We stayed 4 nights, most of the time at the West End. Booked this hotel because the price of the Executive room was reasonable comparing to others. The room was tiny!! Not worth the money at all. We couldn't make it completely dark so at 5am the sun was in and there was nothing to do about it. The lounge was nicely set but thr temperature was HOT! We asked to make it cooler but the staff couldn't do that for some reason. Overall it was quite disappointing.
This is going to a long one my partner and I waited 19 years to do a trip overseas and I surprised her with this holiday I had plan with our travel agent which I must say was brilliant.well we arrived at The Cumberland London near marble arch and we walked in after doing flights from Melbourne to HongKong waited for 2.30 hours then to Heathrow which was a little over 20 hours travel to get to the hotel to find out they didn't have a reservation and we gave all our I.d to see if they could find it they didn't have our first 7 days but they had our other 7days so all up we were with them 14 days . Well the first night we weren't even in the room we booked so they said they will move us the next day just make sure our cases were all packed and when we got back they would have moved us to our new room so we got back around 6.00 pm got into our new room but no cases so god knows we're they had been but they took about 35 mins to come up the manger of the concierge tried to say that we would of been told that they were under refurbishing and they could not hold our main cases for 2 half days that it would cost us 78.00 pounds we tried to tell him we had not been told any of that and he said I will do you a faver by storing one of our cases it was like really what about our other ones by this time my partner was in tears so I was not happy. There is sooo much that happened I can't write it all . One thing is for sure don't ever GO THERE IT IS DISGUSTING the service was pathetic room service was even worst half the time you would ring to get more coffee tea sugar milk it would be an hour before we could have a cuppa because they didn't understand what we were trying to say to them so for 14 days and nights we had trouble with THE CUMBERLAND LONDON we went through five mangers and three room changes and they still we discussing in the end we were looking at other windows and brick walls we paid for marble arch view and we never really had that I feel they were just fobbing us off until we left to come home. One of the mangers towards the end offered us a refund of 20% for one of the seven day stays and of cause I said that wasn't good enough so he said he would speck to his general manger to see what he could do but she said that we expected the offer and that was that and that they up graded us to better rooms well that is a joke and that they gave us the card to use the gold lounge for breakfast and free drinks like juice and coke or tea and coffee . Well we booked and paid for a delux king with a view and all breakfasts were included so I really don't know how they were looking after us and to top that off it to was dirty . I am putting pictures up of this hotel in the hope you all read this and look at the pictures and I will let you be the jugde of it THE CUMBERLAND MARBLE ARCH YOU NEED TO HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME YOU ARE NOT UP TO AN INTERNATIONAL HOTEL AND I REALLY DONT KNOW HOW YOU COULD BE 4 STAR please anyone if you don't want to stay at a hotel that has an OHS issue showers that don't drain no service rude and far much room don't book here big mistake and they really don't give a damn they just think they can brush away but I will add we might be the only ones to put this up but I know they had other people yelling at them they were also many more unhappy people😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 and this is only 10 pictures we had broken furniture blood on the curtains stain in the bed marks on our glasses a drinking cups and so many other OHS
Excellent location with cafes, restaurants within walking distance. Pret A Manger is next door, next to the Marble Arch station. Short walking distance to: Oxford Rd if you're the shopping type, Hyde Park if you're the outdoors type. Slightly pricey but comfortable and large room. Breakfast spread is above average. Staff is efficient and friendly. Wifi is relatively fast. Only downside is, this is a very popular hotel, and occupancy is high. The wait for lifts can be long and disappointing, especially during peak periods.
