Grosvenor is practical, but needs to improve the reception services ( unprofessional on the phone took me more than 30 minutes to reserve 5 rooms) and the room services as they most of the time don't know the card and they should automatically take the plates with them, that is really bad that they say it is not them to take it back. But room is perfect and well situated. So just need a little kick :)
Friendly and helpful. Clean comfortable room and a huge choice for breakfast which was relaxed and enjoyable. Really good central position for getting about London. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
the staff, especially Paul at the front desk, were friendly, helpful and professional. our room was large, clean and comfortable. the breakfast buffett is first rate. the hotel was central to everything we wanted to see and do while in London. we had a wonderful time.
We booked this hotel based on previous reviews as well as the location-which was fantastic.Old world elegance coupled with modern amenities I would imagine that only someone looking for a very contemporary, stark hotel might not appreciate the grandeur or the Grosvenor.Check in was quick and efficient and they even had our rooms ready early (and unexpected bonus). We needed to book two rooms for our family of 4 but the rooms were directly accross the hall from each other (and our kids are 17 and 20) so it was perfect. A lovely, complete breakfast was included. While it is stated that the Grosvenor is NEAR Victoria Station it is actually connected to Victoria Station! That is wonderful for several reasons:Convenience: if you would like to take the "Tube" (Subway) to get around instead of a cab or a uber. Trains are frequent and much less expensive than above ground transportation and you will likely get to your destination quicker. We travel in NYC very frequently but have NEVER encountered traffic as heavy as London's. We were told more than once that seldom used bike lanes were recently established which has taken valuable real estate from the roads.Restaurant alternatives: Granted, no one travels to eat in a train station. However, my teens liked the fact that they could leave the hotel, explore the mall that is part of Vistoria Station and grab a late night bite to eat.Gatwick Express: If you are traveling to/from Gatwick the train from Victoria runs every 1/2 hour and costs less than 20 pounds per person. Our trip in from Gatwick (by private car) took almost 1 1/2 hours and cost 150 pounds (for 4 of us).The Grosvenor is very centrally located (we walked to Buckingham Palace) and in a safe neighborhood. We highly recommend this hotel- we had a lovely stay!
This hotel was in a perfect location for us, right above Victoria Station. It had everything we needed and the bed was enormous. We were upgraded to a suite which was great. Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The only disappointment was the hot breakfast which was very average, and the food not hot.
