We stayed here for two nights last week. Our standard room was impressive for London standards. Unfortunately we had a few maintenance issues and it's the way the hotel (Corina on reception) dealt with it that makes it 5 star service in our opinion. We were moved the next day to a superior room with minimal fuss. Both rooms were well equipped, spotlessly clean and quiet. Neither had any scenic views, but we weren't there to look out of the window! Both beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in.Breakfast had enough choice for everyone. The staff were friendly and always helpful. We have stayed in many London hotels but we will only be staying at The Grovesnor from now on. So impressed by the location, the rooms, the cleanliness and above all the quality of all the staff we encountered.
Just a one night stay, but a good experience.Great staff, a great old railway hotel that forms part of Victoria station.Didn't eat here, but rooms good size for London, clean, good beds, bathroom.Only downside limited TV and dodgy wifi. Will stay again for sure.
This hotel is fabulously located. Connected to the Victoria train station, you're at the centre of things. This also means that you'll be tripping over enterprising travellers availing themselves of the facilities in the lobby. You may also be, as I was "upgraded". A quick google search showed that this wasn't true. No complaints, because I got the exact grade of room I paid for. Odd though was the manager fiercely indicating NO to the less experienced desk clerk on check-in. She was clearly locating a room and this exercise left me embarrassed. More puzzling though is the mouldering of room service items in the hallway. Days after your in-room breakfast the corpse of your tray will still lie accusingly in the hallway. Like the recently dead it will be shrouded by a cloth. You will never know why. On that theme room servicing is hit and miss. On day 1 I was skipped over entirely. On day 2 the bed was made, I had fresh towels but the ironing board was left out and about. Perhaps to fend off the marauding trays in the corridor, who knows. In summary, central. But that is it.
Overall the room was very big and seemingly luxurious. The reservation and conceirge staff were all very pleasant and very welcome. They offered any and all assistance thay could provide. The bathroom was well equipped with all the usual necessities. The room itself had a large closet, tv on drawers, two night stands, and desk with chair and sitting chair. We only struggled to find enough plugs open to utilize. However there was one on the desk and another near the drawers.
Our trip was excellent, the team is really welcoming. Thank you for the room, it was perfect ! The entrance is just out of the station, very easy. The breakfast is well presented. The hall is also magnificent !
