Fantastic hotel and excellent service. Staff couldn't do enough and even free cupcake in check-in (always a winner in my eyes!). I stayed here on business for a conference and my husband and son joined me in the evening. They supplied a travel for and even upgraded the room to give him some more room! Clean modern and spacious room.Excellent location right opposite Hyde park and very close to Queensway tube station. Also connivence of having a Waitrose petrol station attached was the food shop for snacks etc.Breakfast the next morning was a buffet. Excellent selection (continental and traditional English) and self service coffee machine! All food refreshed regularly and nice and hot.Couldn't fault it really and would stay here again for sure.
Stayed here one night in business. Room fine as were all amenities. Only minor issues were small shower screen over bath (water all over floor) and broken coffee machine at breakfast. Nice touches were free papers, great staff and free Crunchie at checkout.
Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel during a weekend trip to London. It was clean, the air conditioning was good, the staff seemed pleasant and helpful. It was around December and was in a good location to Winter Wonderland, a tube station was very close as well. The room wasn't huge but they had bigger rooms on offer if you want one. The bed was very comfortable and the hot chocolate I had before bed was nice. The breakfast was okay but not great. Overall it was a pleasant stay, I would stay there again, but it wasn't outstanding, it was very nice but not a place that particularly sticks in my mind. Th e sort of place you go to again due to the fact you know it is all you need and is comfortable, but not exactly full of character. Which is rather standard for a London stay.
You can’t help but wonder if you have made a terrible mistake when the cab pulls up at this property. The Bayswater Road frontage shares a petrol station and you enter from the side. First view is lift doors - reception you discover is on the first floor. Check-in was quick and easy and the pleasant surrounds a little more reassuring. Three lifts ensure no waiting - a real plus for a hotel in this area in the value price bracket. Security is in place as well - the card must be used on upward journeys. Room 705 was as ordered, overlooking beautiful Kensington Gardens, but quite small, even by London standards. Think more in terms of Paris. If you are travelling as a couple with big suitcases be aware there is really nowhere to put them other than beside the bed. Given the size of the room, I would have to say I was quite impressed by the comfort levels achieved. The room had been recently completely refurbished offering a double bed, desk with two double UK power plugs, office style chair and table lamp, coffee table and lounge chair. The tiny bathroom boasts an excellent shower with the controls well away from the shower-head - great to see. Nothing worse than getting a burst of cold water while fumbling with controls under the spray area. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and body lotion are included. I will never understand why baths are replaced during a renovation - it is so much safer for guests to step into a shower recess. There are power plugs either side of the bed and a master control switch. Inside the wardrobe, the safe is at the right height and an iron plus board is squeezed in along with a hairdryer my wife rated 10 out of 10. No mean feat. A small flat Philips TV plus a chest of drawers and a full length mirror complete the package. Finally, the rooms are super quiet and a surprisingly large and comfy restaurant/lounge on the first floor serves meals or cocktails . The set menu offers a two course meal for 18 pounds. Staff are attentive and keen to please. Wifi is quick and free.To conclude: Very comfortable good value well run hotel in an excellent location near Queensway with its shops, restaurants and tube station.Ian McIntosh is Australia’s senior traveller
Stayed here while going to the proms with my family. Close location to Kensington and right next to Hyde park. Centre of London within walking distance. Price was good as London goes. Hotel was clean and tidy.
