Three friends and I visited this hotel for one night. It was a single bus journey from Euston station. We arrived at 9.45a.m. and were given our rooms immediately by the very pleasant and friendly reception staff. As we were visiting Kensington Palace this hotel was very well situated directly across the road from the entrance to Hyde Park. The rooms were spotlessly clean with very comfy beds.We checked out after an excellent breakfast and were able to leave our bags until we left at 6p.m. Thanks to the hotel we were able to turn our one night stay into two whole days of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
2 minute walk from Queensway tube station and about 5 minutes from another one. Queensway is on the central line so is perfect for getting around. Also the hotel is about a 30 minute walk from harrods and it is opposite Hyde park. The hotel itself is very clean and secure. The bathrooms are lovely and the double room is really modern. I didn't try the breakfast but it is available as well as room service. The staff at the hotel are lovely and very helpful. I would recommend this hotel. The price we paid was around £140 a night which is the amount I think this is worth.
Excellent location and lovely neighbourhood - across the street from Kensington Gardens, short walk to Queensgate and Bayswater station and bus line that takes you to downtown within minutes. The standard room is rather small but its a worthy trade off for the location. My room was in good orde.Had a lovely stay and won't mind coming back to this hotel.
It was fantastic our estance at the hotel. The room was very confortable and the breakfast service was also fantastic. My familly and I are so gratefull with all the team of the hotel, specially with Esmeralda, who helped us a lot.Definetly a great estance!
From the second we wheeled in our luggage from Heathrow to the time we checked out for Paris we were met with kind, prompt and total service. The generous people behind the desk were multi cultural and genuinely kind. I saw them cater to every language, culture and groups/individual with equal care and concern. I saw a consistently very friendly and very capable staff working the desk, as well as the great breakfast room.We were there early from our flight and wanted to start our day; being early our rooms were not yet ready, which we knew would be the case. The staff ticketed and stored our bags until our return later in the day with no hesitation at all. Huge help for us.The rooms we had were on the small side (double bed with enough room to walk around it) but we didn't mind as we were just there to sleep and shower before starting another day. Our two sons had a room and we had one next to them. The carpets were stained in a few spots and the stands were scuffed a bit. We didn't mind as the rooms were clean otherwise and always fixed up very promptly and on time. The bathrooms were immaculately cleaned and very modern. A closet complete with ironing needs were there as well. Plenty of plug in for charging and a large tv we never turned on but our boys enjoyed theirs. Quiet at night with the window open as well.Breakfast was an extra cost, but well worth it. Meats, eggs, fruits, pastries, cereals, teas, coffees and juices. I saw families, couples and business people all enjoy the great service and fantastic food every morning we ate there. Tables cleared and cleaned quickly and quietly. No one is rushing you out and you're able to plan your day and just enjoy a good starting meal.We would return time and time again to this place and plan to do so without question. The location is literally across from Kensington Park and a few blocks from the Queensway Tube stop. A convenience store is right on the corner before you enter the front doors as well. We were pleased to know Notting Hill/Portobello Market was a short walk as well as The Orangery at Kensington Palace where you can enjoy an unmatched tea luncheon. The Thistle is not a touristy location by any stretch by my definition. A church was near by for us, plenty of cafes and all sorts of stores. Truly we wanted for nothing and enjoyed our stay at Thistle Kensington Gardens.
