Castle Inn and Suites
- What's Included
The rooms are quite basic and dated, but the price reflects this. The Castle Inn and Suites is a mid-evil themed motel style hotel located just across from the main gate to Disneyland. A budget hotel which is reflect in its price, decor, service and facilities. For a few bucks more you can probably find a nicer hotel.
Hotel was clean and staff friendly. However my Pandora Disney Bracelet was taken from mt room. It was all Disney Charms collected over a 3 year time period. Should never have taken it off but it was so hot and sticky. I offered a $100.00 reward but of course it was not returned. No safes in rooms! Moral to the story don't wear amything nice to Disney or find a property with room safes.
We have been to many hotels within the Disneyland/Anaheim area but we have come to the castle inn loyally for a few years now. They have a great staff that always takes care of us and has been nothing short of amazing. Mark is more then accommodating when it comes to my sons special needs and knows how hard it is to travel the long distance we do so he definitely goes above and beyond to make our stay as easy as possible. The rooms are large, clean and so close to the park that we don't feel like we are walking a country mile to get to and from Disneyland. I love the hotel because it's quiet but totally kid friendly. Alberta is so nice when I call to book and knows everyone by name. I've had to order items and have them shipped to the hotel and David was awesome enough to put them away for me in my refrigerator so they wouldn't spoil before we got there. The team keeps my friends and family coming there year round and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
The castle theme is so cute and the kids loved staying at a castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even gave us a map and recommendations for good, close restaurants. The short distance to Disneyland was wonderful and an easy walk. The small shop was useful and we bought some needed items. Our room was clean however a little musty. The furniture and beds were very nice. The price was very affordable for our family.
I struggle with reviews like this. I never really want to have to give a bad review. So when I have to I want give it a lot of thought or reflection to make sure the review is genuine and accurate. This review could be a very low three or a high two. This is my second stay (and review) here so it's a really tough decision.First here are some pros: staff is super nice and helpful. They did give us a free upgrade upon arrival, even though I didn't notice the difference in room types from our previous visit (same room reserved). And the view was rather nice. The room was dated but clean. Even the fold-out bed was in good shape. The water was (mostly) hot.Now for the con (and it's a big one): Something in our room was leaking. I thought it was the A/C, but I'm not entirely sure. When I say leaking, I mean continuously dripping. Seriously, it dripped continuously all night long at the rate of about a drop/second. The first night, it woke me up at 1 AM. Now you have to understand something about me personally. I can sleep through anything. And this woke *me* up. It leaked so heavily so as to form a puddle of water in the carpet about a yard across after one night of running. I brought it up to the management on the first morning and they did nothing to repair it. They said it was simply condensation dripping from the humidity. I tried to tell them it was a bigger problem. On the second day, they turned off the air-conditioning while we were gone such that we came back to a sweltering hot room that was over 80°. Once I turned the A/C back on, though, the dripping started up again shortly afterwards. I again alerted the staff. They did offer to let us change rooms but I had 4 teenagers already asleep in the room. At the end of the day, I pay money to have a place to sleep. When I can't sleep and I'm tired and exhausted for Disneyland then, unfortunately, this place gets a bad review this time around.
This place was very convenient for our Disneyland trip - walking distance, right across the street from the park! The rooms were clean and comfortable and just as advertised. Be aware that you can only park one car per room at this hotel which was an issue for us as we were a larger group renting two of the large suites.
