Clarion Hotel Anaheim
- What's Included
Our OpinionA cozy 3 star hotel. The Clarion Anaheim is 1 block from Disneyland. Offers a games room and Nintendo for the kids. Pool with pool side bar. If the price is right this is not a bad choice.
OverviewThis is a good choice if you are traveling with kids or are looking for an affordable place to stay near the Disneyland Resort®. Rooms are clean, cozy and offer the convenience of a full service hotel - step out on your balcony and watch the fireworks! Location: 10-minute walk from Disneyland Resort®, next to the Anaheim Convention Center, 5 minutes to Anaheim's Garden Walk. 57km from Los Angeles Int'l Airport.
I booked this hotel through trip advisor and the service was horrible. No where on this listing does it say that you have to pay for parking. It is $14 for the first car and $28 for the second car. I don't mind paying it but i should be listed so clients know! I also called a day prior to add someone to my check in list and was on hold for hours and they still had to call me back to confirm. I got an email confirmation saying my friend can check in for me however on the day of i had to be on hold with the hotel for another hour because they did not get any emails or notifications. Joanna was the representative that helped me and told me that i was set. I wanted to avoid all this hassle on the day of that is why i called ahead. But that didn't play out how it was planned out to because they never received any notification, even when i was on hold with trip advisor for hours. Than we show up and have to pay for parking at this semi decent hotel. I called trip advisor, Won helped me out, because i wasn't aware of this charge and they were so rude to be because i told them there was no listing on the page. They told me that it was my own fault for not doing for research prior to booking the hotel. That i already booked this hotel and there's nothing they can do. They also argued with me that it is listed but i have a screen shot and it is still not listed to this day. I also talked about joanna and my experiences with her and he went straight into a defensive mood. Defending joanna when i was simply stating that she said that my girl friend was set to check in and i don't have to worry about it tomorrow but that wasn't the case. Trip advisor customer service is horrible. They false advertise and have secret fees. BE CAREFUL For the price on top of parking you can stay at a better location. This hotel is dirty the beds were small and hard. However, the location was nice and the manager at the hotel was very accommodating. He was the ONLY employee that i have encountered on my trip to be helpful. I HIGHLY ABSOLUTELY 100% WOULD RECOMMEND BOOKING WITH HOTELS, EXPEDIA OR ANY OTHER WEBSITE!!!!!! This hotel is over priced for what it is because we found another hotel (anaheim suits) for saturday night that was the same price and was 10x better. Please say yourself time and energy and book through a different place or go through the hotel directly where all the fees are transparent.
I stayed one night at this hotel. The rooms are clean and modern. I have no issue with the quality of the hotel. However, you are required to pay a $28 USD security deposit per night which they stated would be on hold on the credit card. 22 days later and the security deposit is still on hold or pending and I cannot access these funds on my credit card. I have a receipt and an email from the hotel telling me no charge to my card and that the security authorisation deposit was released. Very frustrating!
A little preface. We didn't expect to take our 9 year old daughter to Disneyland for her Birthday but at $500 Canadian for the week, we decided to go for it. We booked using Air Miles with no special requests other than 2 beds. Our package did not include any buffet breaky it was bare bones and we had no expectations. As a couple we usually book at least 4 star accommodations when traveling but this time we were all about the price to make this last minute idea happen. This is what we got...The Good:-Easy check in, clean rooms, friendly staff.**however, one of the "clean" glasses with cover on it had about a quarter inch of water in it, hmmmm. We left it that way all week and it never got replaced.-Amenities in house included decent restaurant, variety store, bar, arcade, gym.**basic stuff here folks, food, gym, arcade. Foodies and fitness buffs move along.-Pool was larger than expected, very clean, plenty of room on the patio, nice temperature.-Easy access to drinks/ice on the floor.-Do it yourself laundry available 2nd floor.(which we used cause we sweated ALOT)-Safe in each room with key.-Decent sized fridge in the room.-Everything you need near by from restaurants to pharmacy/groceries.The OK:-The walk is a good 15mins to the drop off area for buses at Disney, the entrance is farther still. On the way back once you get to the road It's like this....see that second set of lights waaaay down there, well we're walking another good block past that.We didn't walk day 2, we took the $5 Uber then got real good with the ART.PRO TIP:ART costs $5 per adult and $3 for kid for unlimited all routes for the day. So, if you plan on making more than one return trip between Hotel and Disney ART is the more cost effective method of traveling and it's max 20min waiting from Hotel. Here's the pro tip....the ART bus you catch out front on Convention Way is the #3 BUT, when catching a bus back you can grab the #1,#2 or #3 as the bus stop for #1 and #2 is also right out in front of the hotel but on Harbour Ave. In fact, the #1 and #2 is actually better because there are less stops on way back, regardless when you understand this you rarely have to wait to get back from the park as one of the buses will be there. You're welcome.-One complaint is that our entry card to the room stopped working every day, one day both of them weren't working. They would always remind me to keep it away from cell phones and credit cards but it didn't matter, I had the damn cards in a completely separate pocket by the last couple days and it still crapped out.-Parking Pro Tip: Yes, it's usually $14/day but thanks to another reviewer I mentioned signing up for their Choices Hotel group and voila, charged me $5/day and I didn't have to do anything but ask, didn't cost me a thing and I've received no propaganda in my gmail account since.Bottom line? For the money I can't imagine anyone having serious complaints about this place. If you are uptight and always looking for an excuse to complain I guess you'll find it. However if you are reasonable person and understand the meaning of value, I would suggest you can't go wrong at the Clarion.
Great spot a 10'min walk too Disneyland 2 mins to Convention Centre, close too restaraunts CVS & Walgreens etc. Hotel is clean and comfy, rooms are ok tv, fridge, microwave and coffee perk. Pool area is good but no life guard so children need parents with them at all times as the pool is rather deep. Breakfast is reasonably cheap at around $13 per adult and kids eat free. Laundry onsite and ice available on different levels. This hotel is definitely not worthy of the poor reviews yes it is older style but clean and comfortable, if your lucky you can see the Disney Fireworks from your room
Stayed at the hotel for a week at the end of August. The location is a nice 15 minute walk to Disneyland Park. Our room was perfectly sized for the three of us. After a long day there is a nice pool to cool down in. A bonus is the close proximity of local convenience stores and restaurants where you can find cheap snacks and meals. By the way, the staff are supper friendly!
