Staff was excellent, but of course, it's DISNEY! Character Breakfast at this location....EXCELLENT. make reservation early. Rooms were Clean & nice. Its a mid range hotel...but has all that you really need with Downtown Disney and the Parks w/in walking distance. I would stay here again.
Spent a day here with my friend and her nephews, and I have to say that for a Disney property, we were underwhelmed. The room was just average, pool area - very average. No food or drink service, at least this time of year, and food on property was pretty average. Main advantage of staying here is the monorail directly into the park, but that was broken, and it was a longer walk to the park than you'd have from many non-Disney hotels, and no discount offered. Disappointing.
We have stayed at Disneyland hotel before and loved it but the Paradise Pier was even nicer. We were out of session for the pool and it rained two day we were there once really hard but it all made up for by the hotel for the rain. The beds were so soft and we had the option for a pull out day bed too! The decor was so nice California beachy with that special touch of Disneyland magic! The bathroom was very clean and even had a laundry haper for our wet towels which was so much nicer than having to step on wet towels or around them on the bathroom floor. The soaps and shampoo smelled great and there was separate ones for the bathroom verse the sink! Oh and the closest was huge and had extra blankets and pillows which is big plus cause I like a nice stack of pillow to sleep on and never get in most hotels unless I go down and ask. We also request a view of the park and main did we get it and it was amazing! We could see the roll coasters and the California adventurers Pier from our window! And we only looked later but you can have dinner waiting for you when you get done the park in your rooms just order what you want and hang your order on your room door nob! They will deliver till 11 pm, which is awesome for late night eaters like me and my husband or just if you would like to eat in after a long day in the park. The beds have these cool beach ball pillows on them and the hotel gift shop carries just about everything that a family could need for emergency like cough and cold med for kids and some adult and even dipar cream! So like wow and the even have those day strollers that for sale but mickey mouse ones so if you for get something no worries. Plus they hold your bags for you and you can get the things you buy in the park delivered to your room from the park free of charge but only till 7 pm. Which was a bit of bummer but still it makes buying in the park so much easier. And you are very close to the monorail so you don't have to walk to far to enter the park. Plus they have separate security checks for the hotel guest when entering the park so getting into downtown Disney is so quick and easy. Oh and the rooms have fridges and tvs that even have a special bed time channel for kids that have a Disney Princess tells them a bed time story and a channel to tell parents all about special park features. There no longe waits for elevators you just scan your room key it tells you what elevator to get on a no button pushing the elevator is programed to bring you to your floor. So no need to fight the kid or elevator for the right floor. The glass elevator is cool to go up cause you get a view of the hotel and part of the park! We are so staying there again and there is also the nicest and quickest check in ever. And they even have a beach themed tv room for kids with classic mickey mouse and the gang them short and parent chairs too. Oh and if you arr taking a taxi to the airport ask about thier coupon for the taxi it makes it sooo much cheaper to get to and from LAX. Disney Paradise Pier we will see you soon again.
How can Disney approve of this? After having stayed at the Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel, I expected a similar level of Disney hospitality for over $300 per night. Boy was I wrong! The one bright spot was 1 very hard-working bellman who was the only one who seemed to understand what Disney service is supposed to be like. The beds were saggy and uncomfortable and the shower barely had water pressure. I am beginning to understand why my S. Cal. friends have started staying in non-Disney accommodations around the park. It's not worth the money if you don't get the Disney experience! The location is not that great to justify the price when there are tons of non-Disney affordable places that also offer the magic hour and are just as close.
The rooms are small, but the the place is well kept and the staff is nice. The walk is a bit of a distance to the parks, but not that bad for adults. i imagine it might seem a long way for a youngster, or if pushing a stroller. I get the complaints about the size vs price. But you are really paying for the extra hour in the park. As long as Disney provides the extra hour for hotel guests, I'll overpay for the room. We rode the Cars Land ride twice before the normal opening time. We did not eat in the hotel, so I can't help there. And our kids felt too old for the crowd in the pool, so we did not try that either. Recap: Clean room in well kept area with nice staff and early entry to the parks.
