DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort

I visited with my son for an event at the convention center, located within a 10 minute walk (around 7 minutes, to be more precise). In addition to this property, there are TONS of other hotels/motels in the immediate area. This must be the "hotel/motel capital of the world." I've NEVER seen such a concentration of hotels and motels in one area, ever--- I'm not exaggerating. In addition to the convention center, Disneyland is nearby. Some people say you can walk to it, but it's a relatively long walk from this hotel. My son and I arrived at the hotel early, around 11:45am. At the check-in counter, we were told our room was ready but there is a $25 "early check-in fee." I never heard of such a money-grab. As a Hilton Rewards member, I objected to the fee and the manager waived it. Also, beware-- parking is $18 per night. Although, I would have to suspect most (if not all) of the other properties in the area shamelessly charge similar fees. The hotel, itself, is quite nice. The lobby area is large, clean, and comfortable. We stayed on the 4th floor, which is dedicated to Hilton Rewards members. Our room was HUGE----- it was the size of TWO standard rooms. There was a huge "living" area furnished with a nice pull-out sofa, nice drapes, comfortable seating, and a wonderful desk with a stone top and an office chair. I wish my office back home was this nice. The bedroom (also huge) was in a separate room with two nice beds and a door separating the vanity and bath area(s). The carpet and wall-coverings looked new. The walls were decorated with nice artwork which complimented the overall color scheme of the room. There was a refrigerator and a nice little coffee maker with free tea and coffee. I found the room to be VERY comfortable and spacious. There is an outdoor pool which looked adequate and appeared clean. There were tables and chairs, lounge chairs, and a hot-tub. All of these were kept clean and neatly arranged. There is also a small fitness room with a modest amount of equipment. There is a nice bar adjacent to the lobby and the bartender I had, Norma, was a very pleasant person who made a good drink at a reasonable price. Bar food is offered from the kitchen. There is a decent restaurant which serves a nice breakfast during the morning and a very tasty dinner at night. Again, very reasonably priced and the service is decent. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. Friendly, sincere, but not overbearing. With all of the lodging options in this area, I would definitely consider staying here again. The only reason I rated only 4 stars is due to the outrageous extra fees for "early check-in" (come on, Hilton, really??) and the parking fees. I'd happily rather spend that money in the bar or restaurant-- or, in the quaint little gift shop in the lobby. Overall, a nice place that I would surely recommend.
If you can look through the hustle and bustle of the Disneyland visitors who stay at this hotel, the hotel is very nice the rooms are clean and the staff is outstanding. Say they hotel is very full and I was worried it would be noisy but my room is very quiet and did not hear any of the noise in the halls or downstairs. The cost of the hotel was very reasonable and I will be staying at this hotel in the future..
We visited Disneyland and disney Adventure park and literally walked less than 10 min to the parks which is on the same street, with plenty of lighting and restaurants along the way. Hotel was clean. Beautiful decor and we loved the staff. A +++++++
Location was fantastic for Disneyland access, and using the bus to get there and back. The breakfast was great and the staff fantastic. Will stay again. Room was very tidy and comfortable and quiet for sleeping
Our room was at the end of the hall on the 5th floor. Very quiet. Also, we loved the fact that in the Suites, the bedroom could be closed off by two doors for anyone that needed more sleep and others that might be up. The bathroom as a good arrangement.
