Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort
- What's Included
We booked this hotel for a 4 night stay. Check in was quick and smooth after a long day. Staff were friendly. The room was spacious and seemed quiet. We always keep a fan running at night but never heard any neighbors or hallway noise. The room was clean and mostly updated. Large counter space in the bathroom was convenient. The fitness center was nice as well, quality equipment and stocked with water, towels, etc. Only negatives I can find is that the pillows weren't super comfortable and a bottled water out of the vending machine $3.00. The location was great, probably about a 15 minute walk to Disney and other restaurants and shopping at Downtown Disney so you don't have to pay additional parking if you head to those places. Overall, fantastic stay and we would stay again on our next visit.
Loved loved the ambiance even the Mickey statue :) but the training facilities upstairs were gorgeous & bright & convenient for our participants! The the staff were friendly & took care of the little things we needed throughout the day. Definitely looking forward to going back!Great place for business meetings as well as the close 10 minute walk to Disneyland!
Smart new hotel. Location is very close to motorway, so road noise is an issue if you have good hearing. What makes this place great is the staff. They were super friendly, funny and very engaging. Thanks for making our stay so great.
Location: The hotel is located in Anaheim so if you're going to other parts of Los Angeles, it is out of the way for a lot of places but very convenient for Disneyland goers. Essentially it is a walking distance to downtown Disney which then leads to both Disneyland as well as California Adventure Parks so staying here can save you some parking fees as well as time. You can arrive when the park opens and leave when the park closes and home will just be minutes away. Room: The hotel has two sections. The main building with the reception area as well as a secondary building. Our rooms were located in the second building. If you've stayed at other Holiday Inn locations before, this one is very similar. The only thing about the room is that there is insufficient lighting at night. The pillows aren't fluffy and feel very slept in (hence probably why they give you a few)Staff: The only comment in regards to the staff is the cleaning service. Although we were only here for a few nights, we still tried to make this place our "home". We specifically put notes on our beds in regards to not having our bedsheets changed or folded but the staff member not only threw out those note cards but went ahead to change the bedsheets anyways. The note cards were placed in plain sight and we even placed the signage that the hotel provides in being more eco-friendly by not having the bedsheets changed but the staff member did so anyways so it was quite disappointing. Amenities: From past experiences, when I get my room cleaned, the cleaning services will usually provide new shampoo and conditioner sets in the room but this was not the case. The amenities in the room were not replaced and we had to ask for more of the products whenever we ran low. The hotel has a gift shop by the reception area with Disney park merchandise as well as a kid's water park. The door to the water park was inaccessible even though we had the room key (but it was probably closed due to the cold weather) but there was no signage indicating that it was closed down.
This was our 2nd family trip to Disneyland. The first trip we stayed at Ramada Maingate (think it's called something different now?) and the hotel was such a dump so we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites for our 6 night stay this time.We knew going in that this hotel was an investment into walking to the park so we opted to pay $92 for a 5 day pass for the four of us, the ART shuttle to the park as the stop was right outside the hotel front doors (At the designated smoking area with benches) and the ART shuttle runs frequently enough to be a great option for us without inconvenience (approx every 20 mins and we used the ART app)The hotel was very clean and the front desk staff were extremely friendly and competent. Check in was quick and smooth. They preauthorized our credit card for a whopping $50 for the entire 6 night stay and we stayed in a "deluxe" room on the 3rd floor which consisted of 2 queen beds, a desk with chair, bar fridge, microwave and flat screen TV.Beds were comfortable. I'm super weird about hotel rooms and stuff like bed bugs and cockroaches so I checked the mattresses and they were spotless and I didn't see any weird creepy crawlies - room was very clean. Linen was crisp and smelled freshly washed. Pillows sucked though - they were squishy and lumpy - not the best. The elevator was slow at times but it's an elevator and when it did arrive it served its purpose. They have a restaurant off the lobby area where kids eat free when an adult orders an entre which was great! Dinners were decent - good sized portions and way cheaper than eating in the park ...without alcoholic drinks we averaged about $25 total bill before tip for 4 people - so cheap! The regular menu is fairly limited so if you're staying, and eating there, more than a couple times it can become boring but they do offer nightly specials which aren't on the regular menu so that helped me to switch it up a bit.Breakfast at the restaurant was better than dinner in my opinion! Sadly we only discovered breakfast on the 4th day. Kids again eat free with an adult ordering off the menu. Both days I ordered the 3 egg omelet and chose my fillings (Swiss cheese, peppers, onions & bacon) comes with toast and hash browns. Kids got pancakes (Mickey shaped!) which came with bacon, and husband ordered a breakfast sandwich which came with eggs bacon and cheese with hash browns. When coffee is ordered (I believe it was around $2.95) they leave the coffee container at the table to continue refilling the cup and then provide a To Go cup in case you want to fill that up when you leave and take with you.The staff, from hostess to server to bartender were extremely friendly, attentive and just generally seemed like great people. The pool is heated which our kids loved and we enjoyed the hot tub after a long day at Disney. The wifi was ok - a bit spotty depending on time of day but hey.. we're on vacation and shouldn't really be on devices anyway plus it's free... so can't complain too much. The Shell gas station next door is handy for snacks, drinks and they sell beer & coolers LolThere is also a small gift shop in the hotel which sells Disney stuff, sunglasses, t-shirts, rain ponchos etc ... prices are a bit cheaper than in the park but we didn't really spend a lot of time in there.Totally would stay at this hotel again and would definitely recommend to others. Just be realistic and buy the ART shuttle pass...after a long day at Disney any hotel seems like a far walk :)
