Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Anaheim
- What's Included
I rate hotels based on overall value. This hotel was a great value for what we paid. For about $160/night we stayed a block from Disneyland and had all the regular comforts of a Holiday Inn. The breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn breakfast. The employees were all nice and helpful. The only downsides were with our particular room. Upon checking in they noticed we'd asked for a ground floor room since we had kids. The room they had was close to the road so they told us to let them know if it was too noisy. The road wasn't noisy, but our walls seemed to be really thin. We were right next door to the gym and could hear people running on the treadmill. We were too close to the lobby and heard people talking. Basically, it was a loud room, BUT, I know they would have switched us had we asked. Another thing that bugged me, and I know it's a small thing, but the toilet seat was too short for the toilet bowl. The pool was not only heated, but warm. Our kids really liked the hotel.
My kids loved hanging out by the pool! Pool area was clean and enough towels to use. They were 8 and 10 so they were not interested in the splash zone. Our room was clean with a door leading out to the pool area. Our room was a good standard size, I also loved that the sink and vanity are outside the restroom so I can get ready while my kids and husband shower.Breakfast was good, I believe kids eat free for breakfast. We also ordered from the pool which was nice, I didn't have to wait to get dry or go in to order food I just texted my order and they came right out 15 minutes later. We also liked the small shop inside the hotel my kids purchased pens and stamps before going to the park, we bought cookies from the vending machine and were upset that there was no milk!! At all!! Lol I mean they serve breakfast and I know they had milk but we were told there was no milk in the hotel, but that wasn't a problem we walked to the gas station around the corner (I don't recommend!! My husband was asleep so my daughter and I walked) it was a 2-3minute walk but it was too dark and no people walking around the area at that time, it was between 9:30-10? Right after the fireworks, that we heard but couldn't really see... Overall we enjoyed our stay but for $165 you would figure parking would be complementary or included, even motel 6 offers free parking for their guest. The only thing I did not like was the parking fee that's the only thing stopping me from coming back. I have 2 stays coming up and parking for 3 -4 nights adds up specially when you have to buy a bus pass to use the shuttle.
We decided to try this good neighbor hotel instead of a park resort after feeling like we weren't gaining anything from previous experiences at resort hotels. We were so impressed! It's about 2 blocks away from downtown Disney, although a shuttle is available, (ART, $3/day or passes available), but easily walkable if you're up for it! The hotel isn't brand new, but the property has been kept well, and is clean- which is wonderful in my book. It's themed and the gift shop has what you need to get by as well. The rooms are small, but livable, you aren't spending any time there anyways! We ate breakfast each morning in the downstairs area, it overlooks one of the pools which is nice, and it was delicious and the options were vast. The staff was so friendly, and everything from the To-Go cups they supplied for drinks without asking or prompted, to the Mickey Mouse pancakes they displayed for the kids each morning was beyond our expectations. There are only a few things that I would change, and that is: 1.I wish we didn't have to pay daily for parking. I almost didn't book this hotel because of it. Especially since breakfast isn't included, it leaves an extra $200 bill at the end of your trip. :(2. The pizza at the hotel closes early, long before the park closes. This made for hungry kids upon returning from a long day of Disney, and access to food was not available. We ordered outside pizza, but I'd just as soon give our money to the hotel.Other than that, our stay was fantastic, and we will stay here next time as well!
From start to finish, our full week at the Holiday Inn was super. The staff were pleasant (Juan in the restaurant in particular is praiseworthy - He was amazing with my children, and they looked forward to the mornings he served us. Then when he invited us to stay at his house with him to extend our holiday, the kids were ecstatic - of course they knew we weren't staying, but for him to say that on our last morning really finished the trip off well). I appreciate the pool not having a deep end, the restaurant was clean and the food was great, our room was always tidy and neat, and after an eventful night of vomit, the ladies cleaned it up immediately and made it no big deal. I would definitely stay again. If you're looking for a warm, welcoming hotel within easy walking distance of Disneyland, then look no further.
We frequent Disneyland and we stayed at this hotel during our last visit. It is less than 5 minutes to drive to Mickey and friends parking structure, it is actually on the other side of the wall from the hotel. The service was great and the prices are very good being so close to Disneyland. I try to stay there every time we go to Disneyland now.
