- What's Included
In-hotel restaurant with kid friendly pizza and other food items. Sports their own water park and for adults a bar. Have amazing family suites with themes such as Avengers, Star Wars, and Frozen. 2 blocks to Downtown Disney and access to both parks.
We got in late and the staff was very helpful and got us in and to our rooms fast!! The bed was comfy and the room was clean. We had a nice breakfast in the restaurant. And check out was fast and easy.
Rooms on the smaller side, with low ceilings and the property in general is looking tired and well worn.It is not up to the usual Holiday Inn standards in my honest opinion and perhaps time the chain sold this property. More suitable as a Super 8 or Motel 6.What totally ruined our stay was the noise from the adjoining multi storey Disney carpark. As every car drove up the floors of the carpark they drove over metal strips with a resulting bang bang/boom boom.........every car and every floor all everning until midnight and starting again around 6am.Like water dripping on a stone,........torture.,.......To have paid $150 odd for this "pleasure" rubbed salt in my wounds and I left feeling very irritated and annoyed. I had expressly asked for a quiet room. There would have been many guests disturbed by this as there were many rooms on that side of the hotel exposed to the noise. It needs sound insulation/double glazing on the hotel and sound absorbing walls on the car park. The postive side was it is close to the Disney complex and the firework display is able to be enjoyed from the hotel carpark.I did lodge a complain with reception but the very young woman just looked bewildered and surprised, as she had never been in the rooms to know what I was referring to.There are hundreds of other hotels in this area which offer better standards and better value for money,
This property is an older motel style building around a very nice pool It is mostly 2 stories with the back side 3 stories resounded by a parking lot. We first stayed in a king Suite on the third floor. This suite was very dated with old carpet, furniture and hardware. It had a separate living area and 2 TVs and a shower over a jacuzi tub.The bed was fair and probably needs to be replaced soon. The pillows were too soft. There was an issue where they only booked us for one night even though we asked for 2, so on the second night we moved to a king room on the second floor. It had significantly better furnishings, carpet and hardware (towel and paper holders, faucet etc). This hotel has many updates like new AC/heaters and some rooms done better. It is also very clean. On the roof (you can only see if you are on the third floor) the insulation on the pipes is in shambles and the roof looks bad. There is no elevator. They serve coffee and snacks in the lobby as well as free water bottles. There is no breakfast included. There apparently was a restaurant at one time because I saw table and chairs piled up just west of the pool and closed off. The pool was heated even thought we did not use it. We were out most of the day so for my purposes it worked just fine. All in all not an exciting place. The price was high for what it is but fair for being in Laguna Beach on the main street. It is several blocks south of the main section of downtown and the famous beach.
The hotel is in a great location, but despite being behind the "Mickey and Friends" garage, you'll still be reliant upon ART to get to Disneyland or a bit of a walk to Downtown Disney for the Monorail (a walk you may not wish to make back when you're feet are tired at the end of the day). Disney has virtually cut-off access to the park shuttle @ the parking structure to anyone not parking in the garage. (tip, though, you can take the park shuttle back on the way out, go to the second floor of the garage and walk all the way across to the stairway, then exit out to Ball Road. / West Pl. through the employee parking lot. You can get to the Holiday Inn through the adjacent hotel parking lot from Ball Rd.)The room was overall comfortable, though things like the valences in our room could use a really good cleaning. Our only real complaints about the hotel were that one of the exterior doors was really hard to open and the key card system doesn't work very well (readers probably need cleaning). Otherwise, great value for the money!Note that when you pull up, you either have to pull in the driveway the wrong way or go all the way down to Magic Way to make a U-turn. The driveway is a bit blind, so pull in carefully, regardless of which way you come in.The restaurant and room service end rather early (considering normal park closing times), but there are plenty of places on Harbor Blvd. for late-night eating.
