Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Anaheim
- What's Included
Friendly and welcoming staff at reception. This is a large premises with four buildings. The room was a reasonable size with two large beds, at ground level. The bathroom was tiny - bath / shower and WC. They need a new supplier of bathroom tissue - as that supplied was for babies and small children! Parking (open air) was just outside. It was a Friday night, just behind the Disney parking lot and there was plenty of parking.
Great hotel for a great family vacation Pros:Comfy BedsFriendly Staff always ready to assist youLuggage storage Quiet location (I never heard our neighbors above us or next to us)Clean rooms with clean white linens and towels Affordable Pretty walk to parkRestaurant onsiteGift shop onsite Room service Breakfast preorder the night before and brought to your room for fee and gratuity Guest laundry Cons:Close to Disney but still a 10-15 minute walk (we didn't mind it and actually preferred entering the parks via downtown Disney)Small bathroom which showed age and wear and tear. The room was dark and the bathroom set up felt more like a motel room than an actual hotel roomDuring my stay I constantly saw the housekeeping staff cleaning, even in the evening. Needless to say the hotel hallways and entrances were spotless. They were also always friendly and greeted me. Unfortunately during our stay the hallway to our room smelled strongly of marijuana. For the record the hotel has a no smoking policy which they were clear about at check in and the front desk thanked me for letting them know. Later in the evening I couldn't even smell it. I would come back if the price was right. However there are so many great hotels and motels near Disney including those part of IHG especially newer properties. As an IHG member I didn't receive an upgrade or a room on a higher floor perhaps it wasn't available and I also had used some free nights so that maybe the reason as well.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-September.  We had flown in from Colorado to visit my brother and his wife in Long Beach, and I, having grown up in the late 1950's and early 1960's watched (starting on black and white) TV "Walt Disney's Disneyland" every Wednesday it was on, which later moved to Sunday evenings decided to finally get to Disneyland! We checking at about 8PM on Monday evening and were very tired because we had been with my brother and his wife all day and had seen other interesting sites and things and had eaten at 2 other restaurants.   All the staff was very nice and helpful!  They sell Disneyland multi-day tickets (but no single day pass)right inside the hotel lobby if you've not already purchased them. By the front desk there was a kids area with little chairs and a huge TV playing.  The Gift Shop close by front desk that had items (sun-screen) we had forgotten and even had Disney gear and souvenirs.  The Onyx Restaurant and Lounge is just across the lobby.  Please check my review of the Onyx Restaurant. Our room was clean and no funny smells.  The room had very comfortable new beds.  There was no visible wear and tear of the room we stayed in. The bathroom was clean and the housekeeping is really friendly. The bathroom is super small and you have to close the door completely to get to the toilet paper. It's in an odd spot. I can't imagine someone large trying to maneuver around that area. The vanity and sink part was separate luckily with decent lighting and a blow-dryer. The room had a K-Cup coffee brewer, micro-wave oven and a refrigerator/freezer. The A/C worked great. This was nice and cool when we needed it.   We heard no road noise and can't hear any cars driving by even though it's by a busy road, but our room was away from the street on the lower level facing the pool and Splash Pad.   The Splash Pad is bigger then I thought it would be and Pool looked very nice! We were told of the entrance being about .6 miles from the hotel or about a 15-20 minute walk to Downtown Disney.  My wife and I opted for the ART Shuttle bus to go to Disneyland and return to the hotel. ART day passes are available at the front desk for $5.50.  For a senior the pass is $2.00.  The shuttle picks you up outside the front door of the hotel and will return you to the same location.  This route number is 11.  the shuttle bus was on time, every time.  Overall there wasn't too much to complain about. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the rooms are great for the price. We had booked the flight and hotel through Southwest Airline Vacations.  This is not the Holiday Inn's that I remember staying in during the 1970's and 1980's!  Great Job Holiday Inn!We will most likely stay here again.
My family and I, stay here during our trip to disneyland, and it was the best choice we could have made, it was within walking distance to disneyland, the rooms are great, they have a place in the lobby where they put children's movies all day, and they have a great splash zone where the kids can just go in and play in the water.
Booked this Inn at short notice due to cancellation of stay at Orlando due to hurricane, we chose Holiday Inn due to location (close to Disneyland) and cost. Check in was easy and good and staff friendly. the room was basic but clean and spacious enough to be comfortable. The bed was also comfortable and the room quiet. The restaurant was not what you call fancy but it was clean and had good food a small bar and very friendly staff, we also ate breakfast in the restaurant and there was a choice of buffet or menu. There is a nice pool here too to cool of in. We were lucky with the location as being on a Tuesday night we were able to see the fireworks at Disneyland. Checkout was early in the morning, the staff member friendly. I can recommend Holiday Inn
