Sheraton Park Hotel
- What's Included
The Sheraton Park Hotel is a solid 5 star resort. It is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main gate of Disneyland. It is not right across the street from the park, so it is a little quieter if that is what you are looking for. This is a definite option if you are looking for a good 4 star hotel. Good for families and couples alike. Higher floors facing the park have a good view of the fireworks.
We stayed at this hotel for a quick overnight trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. We had a room with two double beds and a balcony. It overlooked the parking area/pool/Hilton but it was pretty quiet during the night. The room was clean and had your standard amenities (mini fridge, coffee maker, etc). I appreciated the outlets on the table in between the beds so you could charge your devices. The internet was quick as well and worked great in the rooms. The location was a quick 5-10 min drive to Disney. There is a great store in the lobby for any essentials you may have forgotten and it also has a few Disney gift items, should you want to purchase. The check in process was very quick and the front desk staff was very kind. The valet attendants were also very nice and were very prompt with the car. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a convenient location to Disney.
Recently stayed at this location or 4 nights while attending the Disney Land Park. I have stayed at this hotel before (back in 2010) and returned because it was such an excellent experience at that time. This time around though it was a little different.Check in was okay, guy at counter wasn't super friendly but checked me in. Was given a room on the 2nd floor or advised I could wait a few more hours and try and get a room on a higher floor. Opted for the 2nd floor room. The grounds at this location are beautiful. They do a good job of keeping them clean and creating its own little oasis feel. Pool and Jacuzzi are also nice and kept very clean. Got into the room and its wasn't that clean at all. Stains on the carpet and the fridge was broken. Room was super hot at this time so I attempted to adjust the AC and found that it is adjusted by the staff at a central location so I was unable too. The only option I had was to change the blower from low-med-high. Adjusted to High, but it didn't work. Called the front desk and they sent maintenance right up. Employee was quick to locate the problem and was super friendly. Turns out the AC was broken so they offered to move us to a new room. Spoke with the manager for the maintenance staff and he was a super friendly and apologized for the AC. He was able to locate a room on the 9th floor (didn't know why I couldn't get that one at first as I was told none were ready) but we moved that way anyways. Was then told that we wanted to be higher up anyways because they are having a huge party with several hundred guests coming on Friday and they will be on the 1st and 2nd floors so it would be super loud in that area. Was very grateful that he was able to move us, but frustrated as that's the last thing anyone wants to deal with while spending time on vacation. Wish they would have told us that in the first place and I would have just opted to wait for a higher floor room. Got to the new room and it was cleaner and the AC appeared to be working. Was given a card for all access to their lounge on the top floor as a sorry for the previous room. Lounge offers free lite breakfast and snacks through out the day. Was a very nice gesture as I know they didn't have to do that. This employee basically made the entire trip as he was understanding and thoughtful (maintenance supervisor). Beds are nice and comfortable. TV remote was broken and wouldn't work at times. Bathroom had fixtures falling apart and there appeared to be several large paint chips all over that area. Woke up one morning to the smell of POT (I know its Cali, but not something I want to have the kids inhaling). Location is great for Disney as it only like a 10 minute walk, but you do have to cross one major intersection. Another area that's a little shady as POT smells linger through this area too and people are constantly here begging for change. Once past that area though, you are on Disney grounds and its a nice easy walk. Time for check out and that was another story. Had to be on an early flight so up bright and early. Walking the family down to checkout, there appeared to be security guards at every corner and drunk people stumbling back to their rooms. The previously mentioned party had begun and apparently had been going all night. Drunk guy passed out on the lobby couch near the front desk. No one was at the front counter and when I rang the bell to check out it took the employee several minutes to respond. Seemed to be upset that he was working. Checked out and while waiting for our shuttle to arrive, had several employees standing outside just swearing one after another about who knows what. Nothing I cant deal with, but again not something kids should have to witness and deal with. Overall we were very disappointed that the return trip wasn't like the one years ago. Some of the staff members were super friendly and helpful while others seemed to care less. The actual rooms seem to have gone downhill and the service doesn't seem to cater to the family friendly environment anymore. There are several new hotels that have gone up around this one and with the stiff competition, you would think they would up their game. Don't think I will be going back to this hotel, however I know it could have been a lot worse. Decent Hotel, but with so many options in this area, I cant say that I would recommend it for families. Want to say thank to the maintenance manager for being helpful and honest about the situation. Hotel is lucky to have an employee like him.
We are still honeymooning at the resort until Tuesday but I like to write reviews while I am at the hotel and then I can't forget! We have been staying here as part of our honeymoon. We booked through Virgin Holiday's. We were greeted upon arrival by a very friendly lady called Kylie. Kylie was aware we were on honeymoon so upgraded us to The Club Suites. The rooms are really nice and enjoy a balcony view of either the pool or the back of Disneyland which is great for watching the fireworks from your room. All the staff are lovely and friendly. The rooms are clean and of a nice standard. Comfy bed and pillows and a nice big TV. There are two free bottles of water left in the room each day. There is tea and coffee. For people visiting from the UK there is no kettle, but a coffee machine that you can pour water into to boil water to make tea. There is only one English Breakfast tea bag so if you are boring like us then I would pop to the local shop to get some more tea bags or bring your own. We bought some from Walgreens for $5. The room has a fridge which you can use to store drinks or milk or food from the supermarket, though it's not too big. The pool and jacuzzi are very nice. The sunbeds are comfy and towels are provided for around the pool so no need to bring beach towels. There is also a nice pool bar. The pool is open 7am to 10pm. Disney is literally a 10 minute walk and you can go around Downtown Disney even if you don't have a ticket to the park, there are shops and restaurants there. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel too. We would recommend The Cheesecake Factory which is a 10 minute walk and near Anaheim Garden Walk. The hotel restaurant is nice too. We went into the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal. They offer a buffet breakfast at $18 a head which includes eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice, fruit, cereal, toast, freshly made omelette etc and tea or coffee. Otherwise there is a menu where you can choose and order a specific breakfast that are individually priced. If you stay club level you get continental breakfast included at no extra cost which is nice.We would recommend having breakfast at Denny's too. It cost $25 for two grand slam breakfasts and two teas. Denny's is also a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel within a 10 minute walk but I would recommend hiring a car and driving around and doing some sight seeing. If you are just coming for Disney then you probably won't need a car. If you plan on visiting Hollywood or Universal Studios then I believe you can get a train which takes around 2 hours. We did drive to both of these. It took us 2 hours to drive 40 miles to Universal at 6.30am in the morning. The traffic around LA is very congested and can test even the most confident driver, but we both did it, so if you allow yourself plenty of time to get to your destination then you'll be fine. Universal was a great day out. Particularly if you have older children. Definitely arrive for the park opening. I've attached a photo of the order we did the park in. We arrived at the park at 9am and left at 5pm and got to see everything. We also visited Hollywood itself. We went on one of the Starline City Sight Seeing tours which was good. We did the red and yellow routes (each route took 2 hours) but you can hop on and off the bus and get to see most of the sights including Santa Monica. We parked our car at Hollywood and Highland Shopping Centre which was $15 all day and is right next to the Chinese Theatre. Overall we have had a great stay here and would recommend staying at this hotel if you are a family visiting Disney or if you are prepared to put the effort in to travel/drive and use the hotel as a base. Thanks to all the staff for an enjoyable stay so far. You have made our honeymoon lovely. Message me if you would like anymore information or have any questions.
My cousin and I go every year to Disneyland as our annual girl's trip. We generally stay in this hotel area and usually at the Hilton. This year, we saw Sheraton had a sale and seriously, this is our new home! We loveeee it here. We got a King Bed and it was really roomy! Loved how the bathrooms were separate from the actual room, so it gives some privacy. Plus a door to the shower/toilet so you can get ready at the sink and vanity. Service was also great. We didnt get a chance to hop in the pool, heard they just remodeled it as well. But next time for sure! P.S. Its also on the main road, easy access to a lot of places and stores... AND Disneyland!
My family stayed here for a week while we went to Disneyland, and it was a great experience. While there is a charge for parking, it really is not needed. The Toy Story parking lot is literally right across the street. We walked over every day and used the free shuttle to the parks, which was only a 5-10 minute ride. One day we were ahead of the schedule and the Toy Story lot wasn’t open yet, so we walked to the park. It is a short 10-15 minute walk just down the street. We stayed on the Club level (12th floor), and I can tell you it really is worth it. Club level allows you to pick between the continental breakfast on the 14th floor (with key card access) or the breakfast buffet in the restaurant downstairs. There is no extra fee for using the restaurant for breakfast. The wait staff at the restaurant was extremely friendly and were always there to take used plates and keep the tables from getting cluttered. The room is very clean and comfortable. It came with a small balcony, which was nice to open first thing in the morning to let in the fresh air. The room comes with a mini-fridge and has a sink and vanity area that is not connected to the toilet and shower area. It’s nice for someone to be using the shower while someone else can use the sink and mirror at the same time. The beds were very comfortable. I had very restful sleep. This was the first place I have ever stayed with a poolside bar, and I must say it is was nice. There are TVs in the bar area to watch the game, and you can order drinks or food from the bar menu. There is also a massive gift shop area with a Starbucks in it.Now, while the experience was overall great, there were a couple of things that were off. Now not all of them are the fault of the hotel, some of them are just personal preference. First, while the pool closes at 10 p.m., the poolside bar closes at sunset (about 6 p.m. this time of year). For the last four hours, you cannot get drinks and/or food from the bar, you will have to go into the actual hotel bar and get it to go. This is not necessarily a problem, it just struck me as odd.Second, the A/C in the room is not adjustable. Now I understand why, because they’re paying the bill and they don’t want it running non-stop. But this is Southern California, and it was very hot and muggy during our stay. When I sleep, I like my room to be like a meat locker, as cold as possible. I found myself sleeping on top of the covers all week. If you are sensitive to heat, I recommend bringing an oscillating fan with you for your stay. Then finally, several times our key card door lock stopped working. Our keys worked fine in the elevator and on the pool doors, but not on our door. I believe something was wrong with the actual mechanical lock. The maintenance guy had to reprogram it twice to allow us in our room. It’s not something that happens often, it’s just blind luck it happened to us when we’re all in our towels coming back to from the pool and we weren’t able to get into the room. These were small, minor things. We didn’t let it ruin our week and they honestly weren’t a big deal enough to complain about. They were just little things that we noticed. The pluses to this hotel greatly outweighed the minor issues we had.The only reason I didn’t give the room a perfect rating was because of the door issue. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
