B Ocean Resort
- What's Included
We checked into the resort on 10/8, reserving two rooms. I was aware of the valet fee (around $40 with tax) and the resort fee of $45 per room. When I checked in and tried to go to the beach, we were told we needed a resort card for chairs. I went back and got the resort card, getting a long explanation that Westin had inadvertently charged me $35 per room and I would need to pay $45 for chairs. Even after the manager wrote $45 on my card, I was double charged.Total fees on one room was $120!I called the hotel to resolve and was told to deal with it through my credit card company. As a platinum SPG member, normally I love Westin hotels. Maybe it is just the area. The whole process feels confusing and misaligned on purpose to get revenue through fees.
This hotel is a great place to stay while on vacation. It starts with with the second you walk in and you're greeted by very friendly staff like Storme, Jessica and Lisa who take very good care of you. We usually stay in a room that goes out to the pool but hurricane Irma had other plans for us but we got a amazing room with ocean views and a big bathroom. Breakfast at Siren Table is the best part of the restaurant. The omlettes are amazing and fun when getting tours made with Simpson singing and being funny. This should be available every day not just on the weekends. Andres served us and did a great job. If sit down breakfast isn't your thing there's Starbucks just in the next tower. Sharon and Barbara thanks for all the coffees you made they were perfect. We like spending our days there at the pool. Judy and Gerald always pleasant and helpful with towels or umbrellas. Great drinks at Waves the food is okay. They took away all of my favorites popcorn shrimp, onion rings and nachos, just to name a few. The burger is good but the Westin burger was better. Who wants deviled eggs at the pool? Good thing we don't go for the food. Danny, Rachel Michelle and Violina great crew for behind the bar. Very friendly funny and entertaining that can all make great drinks like my awesome mudslide. Juliet, Amanda and Gernie always smiling and have great positive attitude. I have a suggestion for smokers like me. Have a ashtray at the bottom or the outside elevator so we have a place to put our butts instead of in the nice landscaping. Thanks to Alin for the great room, and Phillip for listening to our little gripes.
I stayed two nights with my boyfriend at The Westin for our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing. Before I even checked in I was messaged from a staff member named Kristine asking if there was anything she could do to make my stay better. I had a room with 2 queen beds and an intercoastal view and I told her I actually wanted an ocean view and 1 King bed. She got my room switched to a higher floor, a king size, and an ocean view all before I came. During the stay she sent chocolate strawberries and champagne to our room which was a great surprise. The hotel was very clean and right on the ocean. The staff is very attentive. You have to pay for wifi and call ahead for your room to be cleaned if you plan on going out. All in all it was a great stay and the Westin is the hotel I'll be staying at for vacation. And a special shout out to Kristine because she was amazing :)
Came here for business but added some days for a mini vacation. This is an older place that seems try really hard. Most of the staff was great. My complaint is that I had to ask to have the room serviced. They finally did after 4 days. I ended up putting a note on the door asking for service. They charge for everything. Internet. Water. You name it and they charge for it. I guess the Hilton has spoiled me as I have NEVER had to ask for my room to be serviced or pay for things like internet. The bar is ok. Nice view if the beach. It’s ok but over priced
It is a typical luxury beachfront property - like all there, it is separated from the beach by the seaside boulevard, the hotel had a pedestrian walkaway from the pool terrace to the beach. Good location, great service; bar and a swimming pool at the second floor terrace, small but useful gym. They supply chairs and umbrellas for the beach.
