OverviewThis contemporary hotel is located on the Intracoastal Waterway.
We stayed here for 2 nights after a cruise. We arrived very early - (before 10 am) and were pleasantly surprised to be told our room was ready. We were in the marina builiding -room 313. Great view of the marina -(albeit empty as they were getting ready for the big upcoming boat show). Not sure why there are so many bad reviews - I have nothing bad to say - Room was spacious, clean, staff was friendly and helpful - (brought my extra towels and pillows in under 10 minutes after I asked for them). Lobby bright and clean. We are Hilton gold members- so did get free continental breakfast vouchers - pretty good selection - hard boiled eggs, deli meat & cheese, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, granola, etc . It is pricey if you are paying for it - Think it was $14.95 for continental and $21.95 for full (don't quote me on that ).. It can get crowded in the morning- not a huge area but we were not in any rush. And we got our choc chip cookies at check in. (Yummy )We had a nice balcony with 2 chairs and a small table - The poo area was great -large pool, very comfy chairs and umbrellas and a bar (food and beverage ).The walkway to the beach is great - right over the road and directly to the beach - A bit dark walking back over it at night - but the gates are locked and you need your key to access the property. The hotel itself is not on the main road- but a 5 minute walk to get there - not a big deal. Also, 2 minute walk to the water taxi.Guess if I had to say anything negative is the way the valet park all the cars -they do block the entrance to the marina building - so a bit tricky walking around the vehicles -but not a really big deal.Would definitely stay again !
I did read the reviews, booked on points, requested a renovated room. When we arrived, we were told that the room that we checked in to online was not available due to electrical issues in the building across from the main wing. Not much we can do about that, we were given a room with a wonderful ocean view...That was the only good thing about the room. I'm really surprised that this is a Hilton property. The rooms in the main building are very dated, They need to hire a new painter who can actually touch up correctly, the curtains are torn and tattered, outlets barely hold our chargers. The Pros: Room was clean, nice to have a frig in the room. Staff is excellent, nice pool area and bar, easy access to beach. If we were staying more than 2 nights, I would have moved to a better room or hotel.Since the location is perfect, will stay here again BUT only when the rooms are renovated!
Everything was great except for outcome of the game Great hotel nearby everything. Walking distance to all pubs, restuarants, plaza. Cross the street to beach. Great views from room. Hotel staff were amazing.
Room had weird smell. AC did not work well. Staff did not address issues right away. One staff member denied the room smell while another one smelt it. Front desk said our rooms were joining but it was not.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16THI have never had a problem with early check-in so this experience blew my mind. I checked-in and selected my room a day prior to my stay (Hilton Honors). The day of check-in I arrived at 9am, (my ship returned that morning so I figured I would try to get into my room early. I was told that my room is not ready so they would text me when it has been cleaned. Luckily, I had a rental car so I did some shopping around the city to buy time. Now it is 330pm and I have not received a text, so I thought, "maybe the young lady has gone home for the day and forgot to text me, so I'll just go back to the hotel so that I can relax. Arrived at the front desk and the associate asked, "did you receive a text back yet?" I said, "No, but I checked in online AND you pre-checked me in today so surely by now the room I selected has been cleaned." Associate stated, "Unfortunately, the room is not ready yet, but come back around 4pm." So I drove across the street and sat in the beach parking area waiting.....so I went back to the hotel at 4:15pm and was told that the room is still not ready BUT they had a room with double beds that was ready instead of my king size bed. By now I am exhausted and ready to relax so I viewed the moldy, mildew smelling room and backtracked right back down to the fresh smelling lobby and declined the offer. By now I am highly upset because they are now telling me that there is NO ESTIMATED TIME as to when my room will be ready....UNEXCEPTABLE!!! Now the manager on duty (Derrick) comes forth and states, "if anything can get done around here I am the one to make it happen." So, within 20 minutes Derrick gave us a room, I believe it was room 426 and advised that he gave us free wifi and free breakfast. How can you give me something I already have (free wifi), I am a HILTON HONORS MEMBER!!! So we grabbed our luggage (about 6 bags large, medium, and small) and dragged them to the elevator to go upstairs. When we arrive upstairs there is no 426, so we asked housekeeping and she said, "it's across the street." WHAT??????So we gathered our luggage and immediately flew to the front desk and asked the manager (Derrick) "you see we have all these bags, why didn't you tell us that our room is across the street?" Derrick said, "I forgot, I was just trying to hurry up and get you all in your room." By now we're furious..... it seems as if he is picking and taunting us. So we drag the bags across the street and enter into the building which seemed like it had no affiliation with the main building. We got into the room and it did smell good BUT you could tell it was a renovated room. The bathroom was nice with the exception of the original tub, closet doors were from the 70s or 80s, and the drapes were filthy. I could not unpack. I called the front desk and Frank answered and transferred me to the manager..the phone just rang and rang, probably 10 times, no answer, so I called back. Frank answered again and transferred me to the front desk, the young lady picked up the phone and when I asked for the manager she hung up the phone. It was not an accident, very intentional. Of course they see your room number when you call but no one called us back. We immediately gathered our luggage and went to the front desk and requested a check out with no penalty. Derrick released us and we found another hotel.
