Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach
- What's Included
My husband and I spent two nights here before tsking a cruise from Fort Lauderdale. We arrived about 9.30pm on a Friday night to a warm welcome and a speedy check-in. We stayed in an executive room on the top floor. The best thing about the room was the huge and very comfortable bed. The room itself was spacious enough with a balcony, good sized tv and a vanity area. The only thing I didn't like was that the bath/shower and toilet were in the bathroom, but the sink units and towels were seperate, in the bedroom itself. I have never seen this before and it was't very practical. We had drinks in the bar, which was nice and the staff were friendly. We also had, breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay, and the food and service was pretty good. There is a nice pool area outside, which has a water taxi stop beside it, which would be handy if you wanted to use it to explore a bit. You have to wear a wrist band to gain entry to the pool area, which is good for security. There is a bar at the pool area but I think the photos online are better than the reality. One thing that irritated me was people dripping water coming from the pool through the lobby area. Its just something that I think the hotel should discourage. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Hallandale beach across the road. There is also a good sized Walmart about five minutes walk away. It is handy if you need to pick up a few necessities. Once we checked out on Sunday morning , the concierge arranged a taxi for us very quickly and was very pleasant. Overall, this was a decent hotel for the couple of nights we stayed.
We were left without any power at home. We decided to spend the weekend at the Crowne Plaza. Not only did we have a great time and loved the hotel, but the staff made us feel completely at home. The valet Joe Lombardo was one of the best I've met - and I travel a lot. The manager, Ernesto, made sure we got a comfortable room. We'll be back if not for the next hurricane, for our next staycation.
I came shortly after Hurricane Irma so understandably they were still dealing with some issues. My original room didn't have working AC but they quickly moved me into a new room. I was also treated very well especially by Kevin & Barbara at the front desk when I asked for an extension to the checkout time because of the conference I was at. Overall, great experience and I'd gladly stay there again!
I've been staying here for about a week. Even through confusion on trying to get rooms for 30 workers all employees were super helpful and understanding! Thanks to Luck, Cynthia, Richard, Max, Kevin and Yoli!
Our Teams were here to support the families affected by Hurricane Irma and we stayed at the Crown Plaza. There were lots of linemen/ tree crews from around the country and the place was very busy especially early morning and in the evening. At all times the Crown Plaza Staff was friendly, patient and accommodating especially the Yoli at the front desk. Thank you!
