Wonderful family resort

We were very impressed with everything at this resort, did not have to travel to exotic islands to have a great vacation! Pool, beach, food options, tennis, basketball and outdoor play area kept all family members busy and satisfied, we will definitely come back!A special employee we would like to mention...Melanie at 3030 bar made our dinners very special, what a lovely, sincere person and great service! We will come back to see her again! Thanks Harbor Beach for the great vacation!

On the Beach

My wife and I just spent four wonderful and relaxing days at this great resort. Arriving four hours ahead of check-in time, we expected to use the restrooms to change into our bathing suits while our room was being prepared. However, not only was our room ready upon arrival, we were given an upgrade. Even though we are Gold Elite members, we did not expect our request for an upgrade to be honored as we had used points for our three-night stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and overlooked the pool area with a nice view of the ocean. Our only complaint was the lack of a coffee maker. Had we bothered to open the drawers sooner, we would have discovered one tucked inside. We split our time between the beach and pool. Although the hotel was crowded neither spot was crammed with people so that you were on top of one another. The pool area was well designed so that there were plenty of chairs for guests, including many in the shade of the palm trees. Both the beach and pool staff were most attentive and accommodating. Not wanting to feel that we were "hermits" in our hotel we ventured out only once for dinner on Las Olas. Other than that one time, we had our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners at the three restaurants on site. The food was very good and the service excellent. We felt as is we were on a private island as the beach is private, and the hotel is not surrounded by other high-rise buildings as they are father north along the beach. We shall return.

Love this property!

My husband and I have been coming here for years. He goes to a conference, I am on "vacation". I get services at The Spa and spend time at the Spa Pool which is small and quiet. I haven't been here in a few years and was thrilled when I arrived for my pedicure at The Spa and found out Sandy (who has done my nails in the past) would be doing my service. She is the best!! If you visit the spa, you should definitely request her for your mani/pedi.As for the Resort, it is one of my favorites. I always feel like I am coming come. This time, the entire Resort was updated, remodeled and organized a bit differently but all the changes are smart, functional and made me like it even more!We usually come as a couple but I can tell you I always see children here as well. It's a great family resort too.

Wonderful winter getaway weekend

We arrived at 10 am with an early check in. Our room wasn’t ready yet (we really didn’t expect it to be at 10am) but we were offered the Spa to change in and enjoy while we waited as well as for the whole weekend. So we gave our bags to the bell hop and went to the spa. We enjoyed the pool and all that the spa had to offer offer. The spa pool is great as it is quieter but smaller. Not as good a view as the larger pool but since we were here for a relaxing weekend it was perfect (no kids). When we received our text telling us our room was ready we were told they upgraded us. We were given an oceanfront room on the 2nd floor (I agree with others-as Platinum members it is great to get the upgrade but a higher floor would be significantly nicer. The room will be my only complaint of the weekend and it didn’t really bother us as the sun was shining so we were outside and not in the room). The room was very average. Poor design with bathroom door being a slider that simultaneously slides in front of the closet. A few cracked floor tiles. Just an ok balcony as you really can’t sit down and look at the ocean as the wall is too high. When you walked in the hallway on the 2nd floor it does smell musty. Luckily, no smell is in the room. Now for all the good:The staff could not have gone out of their way or been nicer. It didn’t matter if it was the front desk staff, spa staff, or just staff that happened to be on the elevator. They all were helpful and kind with smiles. Kudos to those who train the staff. Special shout out to John and Eduon from Sea Level who were terrific waiters and made our stay very special! My husband surprised me with barefoot dining Friday night. We arrived at about six and were greeted with champagne. It was clear we were expected. John and Eduon (hoping I have his named spelled correctly) guided us to our table on the beach. We soaked in the rest of the sun with our toes in the sand as we had five courses and wine. We left stuffed and feeling quite special. Certainly a lovely and romantic way to spend the evening. Tip for Marriott: have a few throws/wraps available for diners as once the sun goes down it gets a tad chilly. It would be a nice touch. Towels are not nearly as classy but certainly were appreciated. Saturday I had a mani-pedi and my husband had a massage. My pedi was one of the best I’ve had. The staff was great. I wish I could remember my techs name (she has been there 17 years) as she was warm and wonderful. While waiting for my nails to dry the manager came by and offered champagne. A lovely touch. We spend the rest of the day at the beach. Getting towels and chairs was swift and easy. I loved that if there were no chairs the guys just put more out. What a relief to not feel you have to get up at six am to get a chair! The best! Maybe the gas powered vehicles could be battery powered but I appreciated them. Anything so people don’t have to “reserve” chairs. The mobile drink cart is great. Drinks from the bars are really great. No lines at any bars. The beach is very nice with a wide swath of soft sand. Since it is next to the cruise port it is lots of fun to watch the ships come and go. Water was such a pretty color. Comfy chairs with cushions. Fruit water is provided both at the beach and pool. We brought Yeti cups with us so our drinks stayed nice and cold. Bring them along! We went to happy hour at Sea Level-highly recommend as appetizers are super reasonable and very generous. We had the crab/tomato, quesadillas, and bbq chicken pizza. Generous wine pours. Nothing seems skimpy. Prices at happy hour were great. For all that food and at least three drinks our bill was under $50. Not bad for eating outside overlooking the ocean. Sunday we did breakfast at the resort. We had $10 off coupons so that made the prices once again reasonable. My husband had the buffet ($29) and I had the eggs Benedict ($17). I have to say my eggs were really great but the hash browns were even better. We were there about 9 on a Sunday and walked right in. By the time we left there was quite a line. We enjoyed sitting outside. Another beach day for us with a late lunch at Sea Level (it is right on the beach so if the sun is shining I won’t be found in an inside restaurant). I had the Veggie burger and it was yummy. Perfect amount of spice with lots of flavor. My husband had the regular burger and enjoyed his. We have to say it was a perfect three days. From the staff to the food to the pools and beaches. Couldn’t ask for more (well, maybe a room on a higher floor but at least it was oceanfront). We stay all over the world and at many Marriotts (Platinum members) and the others could learn a whole lot from this one. Perfect winter getaway...but shhhhh....don’t tell anyone!
