Hotel is chaotic, gives no priority to Hilton Diamond members. Does not permit online checkin so customers have zero input into where they end up. Hotel claims it cannot offer pre-check in because it is a condo, Reception is chronically 7 understaffed during checkout. $35 per night mandatory parking fee is outrageous. Doubletree should provide self-park option. Hotel is not worth this rip-off fee. And bottled water is offered only once per visit. I am currently staying here as I am writing this review. I made a reservation 2 months back and requested for a crib for my 1 year old baby. We checked in at 9 pm today and they told us that a crib is not available. I told them that we have an important presentation to make in the morning and we are not comfortable sleeping with the baby on the same bed. But they said that they would not be able to help us with that, however they would give extra linen for the baby. So we decided that we will put 2 blankets on the carpeted floor and make the baby sleep there. Baby has high chances of falling off the bed as there are no side bars on the bed. When we went to the room, it had a normal sized bed - although we had booked a king size bed. After requesting multiple times to give us the extra linen, they gave us one sheet after 1 hour!!! I asked them- how am I supposed to make a bed for the baby on the floor with one single sheet. I told them that I needed 3 blankets - 2 for making baby's bed and 1 to put over him. After half an hour they gave me 2 more sheets and said they dont have anything more as the hotel is full!!!I never expected this kind of service from this hotel. So now finally i made a bed for my baby using our blanket - made him sleep with full sweater and fully clad and put 2 sheets over him. But now we dont have any blanket or sheet for us. So in this hotel HILTON, we have to sleep with our jackets on and socks on as we have no blanket
Love this location, walking distance to great restaraunts and the beach. Also a stop for the water taxi - which is always fun. Stay here every time I am in town. Staff is always friendly and accomodating.
Family of 5 - plenty room for us - with a full kitchen. Hotel is a little tired - carpets in hallways are wrecked. Location of this was ideal - next to shopping mall and 100m from the beach! Overall, perfect for us we stayed mid December for a week and again from Xmas to New Years.
We arrived at this hotel after a week on a fantastic cruise with 12 from our family. We had a lot of luggage and the staff member that greeted us was great and took care of our luggage. He was the first and last person that we encountered at this hotel that was friendly and helpful. We knew we would have to wait for our room as we arrived in the morning and they said our rooms would be ready at 2pm. We went for a walk on the beach checked back to see if our two suites were ready, not yet....went for lunch at the mall...checked back to see if our rooms were ready...no luck. We went and sat by the pool (with no bathing suits) and kept checking and no one seemed to know what was going on with our rooms. Poor communication with housekeeping staff!!! We waited until after 5pm for our room and it was New Year's Eve so would have liked to have had more time in our room for 12 of us to get ready for the evening. We would have gone and done something in the afternoon if we had known we weren't going to get a room. We waited around so we could get our luggage to our room and freshen up. It was the attitude that bothered us and my husband travels a lot and is a Hilton Honours member and they certainly didn't treat us the way he is used to at Hilton hotels. We had a delay in our flight the next day and they didn't seem to want to accommodate us with late checkout. The rooms were spacious, clean and lots of amenities but would have liked to have had more time in our room considering the price we paid. No discount for not getting our room by the time we were told. All they said was they had a lot of pilots and other guests they needed to accommodate. Shouldn't every paying guest be treated the same? Wouldn't stay here again.
