Ms. Knott,As a business owner myself, I appreciate all feedback from my customers and hope you do, too.I want to report what a disappointing experience my recent stay was at the Gallery One FLL hotel. My son and I stayed Sat night (Oct 15) to attend a conference there.I booked with Hotels.com and my mistake put me in a 2 bdrm suite, but the price made the experience even more regrettable. I normally book based on reviews on sites like Trip Advisor but thought the convenience of staying at the conference hotel would be worth it.Let’s start with the check in. No room was ready, so we were directed to a 2nd floor restroom to change clothes and put our baggage back in our car for safety. The valet, in your very cramped entrance was handled OK, but there is room for improved communication with the desk clerks. The room, although spacious lacked basics, like bottled water, I would expect in your ‘deluxe’ room. The bathroom sink was clogged in my room when I first used it and was repaired when we went out for dinner. The cheapest coffee maker I have encountered in a long time didn’t work and dispensed water all over the counter. My room key did not work I found later, as my son’s key worked when we first entered. But he was asleep when I went downstairs for breakfast take out, and my inability to get into the room caused me to leave food I brought from downstairsAt my door while I walked back to the elevator to call the front desk to call and wake him up to let me in.Lots of road noise from Sunrise in the room we were in.I called down to have my car ready as I was instructed, but I don’t know where the call was routed as the valet had no idea of my message.Last, and most irritating to me, is that when I book a hotel I always pick one with a jacuzzi spa, as my back needs therapy in the a.m. I was informed at the desk that it was under repair. Now this is all too common with hotel spas and I should know better than to not check with hotel before I arrive, but I had booked through Hotels.com, as I mentioned.I wish all hotels would respond to guest bookings with information previous to arrival with notices of unforeseen events such as this. That could be easily automated and give the guest the perception that you actually care about their visit! These are all small matters, but if I want budget service, I can book with Motel 6! At least I would know what I’m paying for!I hope this helps allow your hotel to make improvements.
We travel often with our kids. The best thing about this hotel is the customer service, specifically Costa. He was attentive, caring and resourceful as if it was in his DNA to serve. This was very helpful because we were not familiar with the Fort Lauderdale area. Also, the pool and deck is clean and the hotel also features a water taxi stop which was convenient to travel through the harbor across town. 10 minute walk to the beach too. Great location.
The breakfast was amazing and my server Alli went above and beyond to have a breakfast fit for a very picky eater !!!! Everyone here at this hotel are helpful and friendly !!! Will always stay here !!!
The hotel is in need of major improvements, including interior and exterior. Clearly this property has not been adequately maintained. The hallways and elevators are poorly kept. I’m sure the hallway carpets are not regularly vaccum cleaned or shampooed. The room was awful - the refrigerator door looked disgusting like it has never been wiped down. The dining table is scratched up. The couch is extremely old and makes noises when you sit down. The linen was questionable. A handle is missing on a drawer. The walls had stains (like really touch-ups would just kill the budget). I killed a bug in the living room. The cafe was a joke. I can go on and on... I will not stay at this hotel until there is a 360 renovation. The only positive experiences was service from a young tall black gentleman in valet, he works in the morning. I regret and apologize for not learning his name. And cable was decent.
