Super location. All things we felt were not OK in our suite, was on the first day fixed by mr. Ryan Kopp excellent service. The same excellent service was given from mr. Phillip in the valet service when renting a car. Both professional and efficient.Otherwise a very changing standard of cleaning and front desk service. But overall we will sure be coming back - we feel at home in our suite.
For $350/ night you expect much better. No free parking. Long line to check in. No complimentary breakfast. Noisy traffic at night. Next door room has loud TV till 3am. Great chicken wings and bar. Our friends room had "toilet back up". Thankfully we didn't have that! In room coffee has only decaf. Thermostat is old and unresponsive.
The night before our trip to Fort Lauderdale I found a deeply discounted rate for this property so we booked it for 4 nights. Upon arrival at the property we were told that there was a glitch in the system so they would have to change our rate! We argued with them for 30 minutes but they would not HONOR the rate. We were supposed to have received a email from Revenue Management notifying us of this "glitch" which we haven't received as yet! In all my years of traveling I've never heard of a property not honoring a rate booked. So at 7pm after traveling for 4 hours with a three year old we then had to find somewhere else to stay.Extremely disappointing and very frustrating.
I stayed here due to a work event, however I am a Hilton fan. It started at check in, the woman in Front of me was being moved to another hotel apparently because she booked on Priceline and the hotel was short of rooms. Which naturally made me nervous they didn't have a room for me, but they did. The girl behind the counter looked overwhelmed. They were running out of water so I only got one or my two bottles. Going up to the room I try to use the light switch in the living room to turn on the lamps by the couch. Switch doesn't work. I try to find a switch in the bedroom to turn on the lamps by the bed. Can't find a switch. So at 9:30 a night after a day of flying I have to use the flashlight on my cell phone to find light in my hotel room besides the little light above the door. And the only way to turn the four lamps on was to manually switch them on. They were not controlled by a switch on the wall. The USB ports in the lamps on both side of the bed do not work. There is one outlet to charge one of my two cell phones. I have to charge the other in the bathroom , and my laptop out in the kitchen. They definitely need more outlets My room is close to the draw bridge which has traffic on it all night long and woke me up more than once. The smoke sector blinks a very bright light at night, wishing I hadn't forgotten my Sleep mask.I go down for breakfast in the AM. My breakfast is included, but they have closed early due to equipment malfunction. When I check out I have four huge boxes and a suitcase to move, to find out that in the entire hotel there are four luggage carts total. I have to wait because there is a huge line at check in and all the carts are taken. Long story short the front staff feels less than adequate to take care of issues. They don't even pretend to be sorry and if you don't ask they won't offer to do anything to help the situation. The only bright side was the bell staff they were amazingly kind and very efficient where the front desk was not This isn't a place I would stay again. As a weekly business traveler that stays at all Hilton properties I was disappointed to say the least. You expect certain features in a hotel and this hotel fell short on so many levels. This is the first time I have ever rated a hotel so low, and I do not do it lightly. For $270 a night I expected more and for Hilton to want to try to fix the errors but no. Please do yourself a favor and find a different hotel to stay at. Again I stress I have never rated a hotel so low and I only do it so others do not face the issues I had plus the numerous ones I overheard at the front desk and bell stand. This hotel has so much potential and I really hope they can figure it out.
I spent 2 hours of my time arguing with hotel staff to obtain the rate that was supposedly guarenteed by Hilton's lowest cost rate by utilizing their website. After total frustration, I succeeded, but it was not worth the aggravation. For my time, I was given free breakfast & when I got to the hotel I had to argue to get that!
