- What's Included
OverviewHawks Cay is located in the middle of the Florida Keys on the quiet island of Duck Key. The resort is just over an hour's drive from Key West attractions and nightlife, and only minutes from the village of Marathon. Enjoy fishing, diving, dolphin encounters, water sports, kids camps, tennis and more at the only island resort that you can drive to.
Excellent resort with lots to do. From dolphins, to the family pool. And a great adult pool all of our swimming needs were met. All kinds of water sports are available for an extra fee.We stayed in one of the villas that overlooked the blue waters of the bay. The Villa was clean and well-maintained. With three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms and offered plenty of space. The staff is amazing with special shout out to Shafonda. I appreciated our long conversation! Shafonda went above and beyond to take care of our needs.
Really enjoyed the stay here at Hawks Cay. Everyone we met on staff was super friendly and always asked if they could do anything else for us. The facilities were gorgeous and well kept. El Mita did a great job with our room and when we went to the Angler and Ale, Ava took time to talk to us which was much appreciated. We will be back.
Spent two nights at Hawks Cay, arriving on a March Tuesday evening experiencing the WIFI was down, called their 24/7 support #, left a voice mail (no returned call), ended up calling the main desk 3 times over 3+ hours getting responses of "will report it" or " they are working on it" depending on who answered the phone/ both sounded scripted... Next morning we called before leaving for the Keys, they said they would verify WIFI was working when we returned... it was and they deducted the WIFI charges from the bill.. Tuesday evening my wife awoke with a bug crawling on her face... being a trooper she brushed it off/killed it and shared the experience the next morning on the drive to the Keys,,, Returning Wednesday evening she found a large green bug on the bed,,, we closed the bath room and closet doors and did not see any more bugs that evening.. Upon checking out Thursday AM we shared the bug story when asked how our stay was... The manager on duty was concerned about this, took my phone number to call me once they inspected the condo... She did call, leaving a message that they did not find anything...(even the bug left in a cup in the garbage) at least they tried and followed though. The complex is a good place/environment for sunning yourself around kids or adult pools... The dolphins are fun to watch or work with them for a price..With the high cost/day, and the costs for every incidental they charge for, would not stay there again.... there are much better values....
16 of us, class of '64, from Lawrence High School in New York, had a 4 day reunion at Hawk's Cay Resort this week. Very nice rooms, friendly staff and good food. That said, we were appalled to find an enclosed pool of dolphin kept in captivity for the entertainment of guests. We are old enough to have learned in our lifetime that it is wrong-minded and immoral to keep highly intelligent animals like dolphin in captivity. No matter how humane the conditions, enclosure is prison for these glorious creatures who live to roam the open sea. We urge Hawk's Cay to free their dolphins in a responsible way. We will not consider going back until they do. Randi Kreiss
I have been to the keys before, but Hawks Cay and Duck key were a first for me! My first time experience couldn't have been better. I came down with family and friends for my birthday and we stayed at one of the beautiful villas in the Sanctuary. From the moment we checked in to checking out our vacation was filled with a friendly staff, beautiful landscaping, and beautiful pools. We even met a guy that worked there from Nashville, TN. like us, I believe his name was Jayson and he was wonderful! We went on the sunset cruise which is a MUST, the guys who run it are great and the sunset is UNBELIEVABLE.... I can't wait to go back and hope it's sooner rather than later!!!
